Why do I have 2 camera rolls in my iPhone 4?

Why do I have 2 Camera Rolls in my iPhone 4 Photos?
The seconf Camera Roll has many dupes.
Why does Camera Roll not automatically sync with Pictures in my laptop?

Pics taken with the iphone are not part of the sync process at all.
You should be importing these to your computer regularly as you would from any digital camera.

  • Why do i have camera roll AND my photo stream

i have NEVER understood what the difference between my camera roll and my photo stream. i just want one bucket for all my photos and videos. can someone help?

No no one had access to my ipod but me. The only thing I can think of is in Sept I bought the iphone 5s and rep at verizon told me I could get it at the new contract price if I gave up my unlimited data so I did. The next day I regretted giving up my unlimited data plan so I went back to see if they could undo it and they told me the only way would be to return the phone and wait for a new iphone because now there was a waiting list. So I returned the phone but I had already set it up with my icloud account. Rep at verizon said they would reset to factory settings. Now I'm thinking maybe they didn't and the photo belongs to the new person who bought that phone. Anyway just to be safe I changed my apple password and turned off photo stream.

  • Why won't my camera roll open

last saturday i dropped it, by accident, and only form 40cm high, and ... it worked again !! i managed to take one picture again !! with a bit of red "flou" but it worked. it workED. since that picture, my sweet 3gs' camera died again.
And there we have the answer, the device was dropped.  A hardware issue exists... nothing that we can do to fix it but suggest you replace the device with a newer model or seek an Out of Warranty exchange at the Apple store.

  • How can I restore Camera Roll to my iphone 4s? I have Photo Stream and am backed up on iCloud

How can I restore Camera Roll to my iphone 4s? I have Photo Stream and am backed up on iCloud

Syncing notes with iCloud requires it have the correct email address linked, as notes get synced with an email address.
Now, assuming that you have successfully set that up, though most people don't first time around, then if you deleted the note from the phone, it will have deleted from iCloud as well.
Meaning, unless you have that note located in a backup in iTunes or iCloud you won't be able to get it back.
You can restore the iTunes backup simply by connecting to itunes and hitting restore backup. Only thing is, any info that changed since the backup was made will be lost. (i.e. if your backup is a month old, your phone will look like it did a month ago, and only have that info on it.)
Or, you can restore from iCloud, which requires erasing all content and settings, then selecting that backup. SO, you can see the predicament.

  • HT1535 I have "Camera roll" and "Photo Stream" - effectively storing my photo's twice - how do I delete and which one do I delete?

I have "Camera roll" and "Photo Stream" - effectively storing my photo's twice - how do I delete and which one do I delete?

your photos are in events -
the most common cause of not seeing the events is bad camera dates or event sort being wrong so you are looking in the wrong place - see the view menu ==> sort events to correct sort - if the camera date is off select a photo and right click and show event to find it - then use the adjust time and date command to correct it
and you can drag photos to the desktop - what happens when you do? probably a better work flow with more flexibility is to select the photo(c) and export them (file menu ==> expoprt) to a desktop folder

  • Is there any way I can view / remove pictures from Camera Roll on the iPhone, on a Mac, without actually importing the files?

Is there any way I can view / remove pictures from Camera Roll on the iPhone, on a Mac, without actually importing the files? I just want to view / delete files without importing them.
For instance I have 1200 photos on my iPhone Camera Roll. Some of these are shots, that I've taken multiple times, some good, some bad. I just want to clean up my Camera Roll, but going through the pictures on the iPhone's small screen is tedious. I'd much rather look at the camera roll's photo's on my Mac, and then decide which files I'd like to keep, and which to delete.
I don't want to import the files, as when I import the files, and delete them from Camera Roll, now the Photo's are not on my phone, and the only way to get them back on my Phone is to Import them back in using iTunes, and then they go into the Picture Library and not the Camera Roll.
In the same way as I can view Pics from my digital camera's SD card on a Mac without having to actually copy them to my computer, is there any app out there that will let me view my iPhone pics without importing them.

    The short answer is yes.
Connect your iPhone to your computer.
    Open Image Capture application.
Click on the 4 little squares at bottom to view them as photos, not a list.
Select the photos them click the No Entry icon at bottom to delete.

Edit does not appear in upper right corner of the main screen in camera roll of my iPhone 4S. My software is the latest ver. 6.1.3 and I know it is supposed to be there because we have other iPhone 4S phones and it is there on them.

  • "Photos in the Camera Roll of "(your) iPhone" cannot be imported because the device is locked with a passcode.  You must unlock the device to import them."  My iPhone 5 running the latest iOS 7.1 and I'm using iPhoto '11 v 9.4.3

"Photos in the Camera Roll of "(your) iPhone" cannot be imported because the device is locked with a passcode.  You must unlock the device to import them."  That's the new error message when I plug in my iPhone 5 running the latest iOS 7.1 into the MacBook Pro running iPhoto '11 v.9.4.3.  My Mac OSX is still 10.8.5.
So, I unlock the iPhone by entering the "passcode" before I plug it into the MBP and still iPhoto does nothing.  At least it doesn't issue the error message above.
I've checked both iPhoto preferences and those for Photos and Camera in the Settings on the iPhone.  There doesn't seem to be anything to change this lack of connectivity.
    What next please?

An hour-long phone discussion with Apple Support yesterday solved this question and sorted a couple of others.
As for this one, do not ignore any messages which pop up when you plug in your iPhone and ask "Trust this computer?".  The correct reply is "Yes", not "Cancel".
OK, you cancelled like I did, thinking "What on earth is this for?".  Mistake.  You can force the issue by having iTunes open when you next plug in your iPhone.  Tell the iPhone that it can trust its old friend, your computer and voila!  Your photos can download into iPhoto again.
Thank you, Jay with Apple Sydney, Australia!

  • Why do i have duplicate notes on my iPhone even so en settings on all is iCloud the only one check?

Why do I have duplicate notes on my iphone all my settings are check for the icloud only on iphone, ipad and macbook?

This is not due to malware on your iPhone. There is no known malware capable of infecting an iPhone, unless it has been jailbroken (ie, hacked to run apps from outside the App Store).
Someone hacked your e-mail remotely. Changing your password should remove access, but the spammer can still spoof your e-mail address on the From line and continue sending messages that look like they're coming from you. There's not much you can do about that except alert your contacts and wait for the spammer to stop and move on.
Alternately, some e-mail accounts provide features that can allow a hacker continued access even after you change the password. GMail, for example, has a delegation feature that can be used to give someone else access, and hackers have been known to use this feature to maintain access across password changes. I am unfamiliar with Windows Live Email, but you should check for any similar delegation features.

  • Why do I have saved podcasts on my iphone when I haven't saved any podcasts?

A fairly basic question - Why do I have saved podcasts on my iphone when I haven't saved any podcasts?
And a possibly related question "Why do podcasts I have deleted from my phone often reappear, but in the cloud?".
And finally "How is the podcast app supposed to work?" and "Why doesn't apple even try to explain aspects of the app (i.e what "My Episodes", "Feed" and "Saved" is meant to mean).

    Good morning mickp99,
I'm going to start with your third question first ... there are two main ways to learn about our apps.    The first is the main product support page for the app online.  The second is the user manual for the device (your iPhone). Here are the resources for the Podcasts app.  The answers to questions one and two above may lie in the settings you have for downloading and syncing the podcasts you are seeing.  I've highlighted some key information for you below.  Click on the links for complete information.

    Downloading
If you download a podcast episode, a copy of the episode is stored on your iOS device so you can play it anytime you like even if there's no Internet connection.
Browse or Search for a podcast.
Tap a podcast to view details.
Tap the download icon next to an episode.
The podcast will start to download and will appear in My Podcasts. When you use a cellular data connection, the maximum download size is 100 MB per episode.
    Subscribing
You can subscribe to your favorite podcasts.  Whenever a new episode is available your iOS devices will get them automatically.
Browse or Search for a podcast.
Tap a podcast to view details.
    Tap Subscribe.
Once you subscribe to a podcast it will appear in My Podcasts. The latest episode of the podcast will also begin to download.
Podcasts app for iOS: Managing subscriptions - Apple Support
    My Podcasts
Once you subscribe to a podcast, it'll appear in My Podcasts in the Podcasts app. Different parts and features of My Podcasts are described below.
View: Swipe down with one finger to switch between tile or list view.
Edit: Tap Edit to delete any podcast you're subscribed to or rearrange the order that your podcasts appear.
Subscription Details: When you tap a podcast that you're subscribed to, you can view the latest unplayed episodes under the Unplayed tab. If you tap Feed, you'll see all available episodes. If you've saved any episodes of podcasts you'll be able to view those under the Saved tab.
Notification badges: Once you've subscribed to a podcast, you may notice a badge on the Podcasts app. This shows the number of podcast episodes newly available since you last opened the app. Once you open the app, the badge will disappear until new podcast episodes are available.
If you're browsing your subscriptions in My Podcasts, you'll see red badges next to your podcasts if you're in tile view or just a number next to each podcast in list view. These badges show you the number of episodes of each podcast that are unplayed.
    Settings
There are two places you can change subscription settings for your podcasts.
Default settings: From your Home screen, tap Settings and then Podcasts. These settings are shared by all of your podcast subscriptions. These are known as default podcast settings.
Refresh Every: You can choose how often your iOS device checks for new episodes to your subscriptions. It's set to check every six hours by default.
Limit Episodes: You can pick how many episodes you see for subscriptions.
Download Episodes: The latest episodes of your podcasts will download automatically if your iOS device is connected to Wi-Fi.
Delete Played Episodes: If this is turned on, episodes will delete 24 hours after you finish playing them.
Use Cellular Data: If your iOS device has a cellular connection, you can allow downloads to use cellular data when Wi-Fi isn't available. This is off by default. Downloads using cellular data are limited to 100MB per episode. If an episode is larger than that, it won't start downloading until you're connected to Wi-Fi.
Podcast-specific settings: The second place you'll find subscription settings is within the Podcasts app. Tap a podcast subscription under My Podcasts and pull down with one finger to reveal the settings buttons. These settings are unique to each subscription. If you don't change anything here, the podcast subscription will just use the default settings. If you do make changes to a specific subscription’s settings, they'll only apply to that podcast.
Play: This setting lets you change the order in which a subscription plays. If you're listening to a news style podcast, you may want to set this to play the new episodes first. If the series is more episodic, you may prefer to play oldest to newest.
Sort Order: This changes the sort order of episodes that appear for a podcast (not its playback order).
Subscribed: When this is on, new episodes of this podcast will be marked as unplayed as they become available.
Refresh Every: You can choose how often your iOS device checks for new episodes to your subscriptions. It's set to check every six hours by default.
Limit Episodes: You can pick how many episodes you see for subscriptions.
Download Episodes: The latest episodes of your podcasts will download automatically.
Delete Played Episodes: If this is on, episodes will be deleted 24 hours after you finish playing them unless you've marked them as Saved.
    Inactive subscriptions
If you do not play or access a subscription within 15 days, your subscription to that podcast will go inactive and you will no longer receive updates to it. As soon as you access the subscription again it will refresh.

    Play iTunes Playlists
If you sync your iTunes Playlists from iTunes on your Mac or PC, any playlist containing podcasts will appear in My Stations in the Podcasts app for iOS. If you have a playlist that is a mix of music and podcasts, only the podcasts will show in that playlist in the Podcasts app for iOS.

Podcasts for iOS: Sync podcasts - Apple Support
You can sync your podcast subscriptions, stations, and playback position between your iOS devices, computers with iTunes, and Apple TV.
    Here's what you'll need:
An Apple ID. Sign in to the iTunes Store with the same Apple ID on all your devices.
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 7 or later.
Mac or PC with iTunes 11.2 or later.
Apple TV with Apple TV software version 6.0 or later.
    Turn on syncing
Sign in with the same Apple ID on any computer or iOS device that you want to sync podcasts.
    iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    Tap Settings > Podcasts.
Turn Sync Podcasts on or off.
    Mac or PC
    Open iTunes.
Choose iTunes > Preferences, then click the Store tab.
Select "Sync podcast subscriptions and settings."
    Learn what syncs
When you sync podcasts, you also sync subscriptions, stations, and play position. Here's everything that syncs.
    Subscriptions
Subscribing. Syncing podcast subscriptions will download the newest episode for each podcast that you're subscribed to (but not previous episodes for that podcast). If you download other episodes for a subscription on a device, they won't automatically download to your other devices. See how to transfer episodes and playlists.
Unsubscribing. If you unsubscribe from a podcast on a device, all of your other devices will unsubscribe to that podcast. If you subscribe to that podcast again, all of your other devices will also subscribe again.
Deleting. If you delete a subscription on a device, all of your devices will automatically unsubscribe to that podcast. If you delete a podcast on your iOS device, iTunes on your computer will show the message "This podcast has been deleted from another device, but has saved episodes."
If you click Resolve, you'll see the message "Do you want to delete or restore syncing of the podcast?"
If you want to keep any episodes that you saved on your computer, click Restore Sync on the message. The subscription will sync back to your other devices.
If you want to delete the podcast and all its episodes, click Delete. If you delete a podcast subscription on your computer, it will delete the subscription on your iOS devices, including downloaded episodes (unless they're marked as Saved).
    Stations
When you create a station in iTunes on your computer or in the Podcasts app for iOS, it will appear on your other devices. Any station settings you change will also sync to your devices. If you delete a station on one of your devices, it’ll delete on every other device too.
    Playback position
Podcasts can remember your playback position between devices and computers, so you can always start where you left off. If Sync Podcasts is on for your iOS device, playback position will sync. However, you might need to turn on this setting in iTunes on your Mac or PC.
    Select iTunes > Preferences.
    Click the Store tab.
Select "Sync playback information across devices." It may take a few minutes to sync.
    Transfer episodes and playlists
Podcast episodes on one device don't automatically download to your other devices. If you want all your downloaded episodes to appear on your other devices, you'll need to sync your iOS devices to your computer over Wi-Fi or with a USB cable.
Connect your iOS device to your Mac or PC with iTunes.
    Click the Podcasts tab.
Choose which downloaded podcasts should appear on your iOS devices.
To sync a playlist of podcasts to your iOS devices, select it under "Include Episodes from Playlists." The playlist will appear in My Stations in the Podcasts app for iOS.
    Click Sync.

  • I accidentally deleted some photos from my camera roll on my iPhone. Is there a way to recover them?

I accidentally deleted some photos from my camera roll on my iPhone. Is there a way to recover them?

Also to add to what Ana said, if you've been importing http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 to your computer as you would a digital camera.  Then you can sync http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236 them back to your phone using iTunes.

  • Photo Albums?   I have Camera Roll, Photo Library, and Picture.... why?

I have 3 categories under my Photo albums on my iphone. Camera Roll, Photo Library, and Picture. Now looking at these three options shows 125 pictures in the Camera roll, 84 Pictures in the Photo Library, and 81 Pictures in the Picture option.... Now the problem I have is they are all the same pictures, just seems they are all in the Roll and some in the others. What I need to know is why? why purpose does this have, and how do I delete them from one, or will it delete them from all? would hate to have to think I have to delete them each 3 times... Not sure why it is like this but hoping the reason is simple and understandable. do different applications use pics from different categories? I am confused.
    Papamouse

You certainly CAN create as many albums as you want. You do this by first creating the albums on your desktop, then syncing those albums to the iPhone. You can use Adobe Albums, but you don't need it.
If not you can actually use the My Pictures folder, but I don't recommend that. Instead, create a new folder in My Documents. I call mine "iPod Pictures" (because I sync them to my iPod also). In "iPod Pictures" create sub-folders; name each one with the name of an album. Now copy the pictures you want on the iPhone into the appropriate "album" sub-folder. I shrink them to 640x480 in the process to save memory on the iPhone, but this is optional. It's easiest to do this with a photo editor like Microsoft Photo or the one I prefer, Google Picasa. It is free at picasa.google.com.
Finally, put the iPhone in the dock and wait for it to appear in iTunes. Click on the iPhone in the left panel, then on the Photos tab. At the top there is a box labeled "Sync Photos From:" Click on the box and select the "iPod Pictures" folder. Then choose "All Photos" or "Selected Folders" as you prefer and sync. Each sub-folder will become an album on the iPhone.
Any time you add or remove a folder or a photo in a folder the next time you sync the iPhone will be updated with the change.

  • Why doesn't my camera roll have places option?

I have a 3GS with the 4.3.3 OS.  In my camera roll, I do not have the "PLACES" option.  Most of my friends have iPhones of various models and OS's and they all have this feature.  I've scoured my settings and options and am at a total loss.  Anyone have any information or tips or tricks?  Thanks in advance, A
