Why do I have these lines around my object?

They look like guides, and I just want to get rid of them. I'm new to illustrator so there is probably an easy fix... I just don't know about it.

Well, then go and see if you can identify the objects to which the effect has been applied, select them, open the Appearance palette and put the effect to the dustbin there.

  • When I render and Export there are these little lines around moving objects

When I render and Export there are these little lines around moving objects, what are they and how do I fix it?

The lines are caused by the video being interlaced.
If you export to DVD they should no longer appear. However, if they don't disappear you can use the Deinterlace filter on the footage whilst in FCE.
How are you exporting ..... QT Movie or QT Conversion ....... and what are you exporting to - the internet or DVD?

  • I recently upgraded to 0S 10.6.8 on mab pro and now have pink lines around the desktop borders. A horrible red colour appears in the background of the screen saver, and in parts of Safari and other applications including MS Office. please help

I recently upgraded my Macbook Pro to SL OS 10.6.8 and now have pink lines around the desktop borders and some menus. There is also a horrible red colour that appears in the background of photobooth and parts of Safari. The screen saver looks like an alien life form with red in the background. There are odd translucent colours in the background of other applications including MS Office. It looks like a horrible psychedilic trip from the 60's. I ran the upgrade again but nothing changed. Can you help?

Backup your files off the computer (not TimeMachine) and disconnect.
Hold c boot off the 10.6 disk, under the Utilities menu > Disk Utiltiy > Repair Disk, and Repair Permissions
(quit and stop if Disk Repair (only) issues a failure and notify us)
Quit and install 10.6 again, reboot and Software Update again,  this time download it and then run it. Check Software Update until clear.
c boot off the 10.6 disk and use Disk Utility >Repair Disk again (fixes a bug)
Reboot and check any installed programs, some may not function who have installed kext files into OS X, those need to be reinstalled.
You didn't mention if you upgraded from 10.5 or 10.6.7, the above steps are for fixing a 10.6 to 10.6.8
If you upgraded from 10.5, you should erase the drive in Disk Utility first, then install 10.6 fresh, but then all your programs will have to be reinstalled or updated from original sources.
Also the 10.6.3 upgrade disk has no free iLife, but you can install 10.5 fresh then upgrade to 10.6.3, then to 10.6.8 and then all new programs and that will give free iLife that came on the factory 10.5 disks.
You also can use Pacifist to extract iLife from 10.5 disks.

  • Why am I getting these lines?

    Hello everyone.
I have asked this before here and was helped out very well. I have followed the same steps I was told before which worked before but for some reason is not working now. Here is a clip of a Demo I made for a client but I keep getting these lines when someone moves. http://www.simplycaptivating.com/hddemo2.mov
Now someone on this forum had previously helped me with this problem on a diffrent clip, and it worked great. But now when I follow those same steps with this clip I still get the lines. Does anyone have a clue as to why?
    Thanks for the help.

What you say sounds like an interlacing problem - interlacing shows up on computer monitors as it is designed for TV. Interlacing is usually much more noticeable during high movement.
However: I usually see interlacing on my monitor, and I don't see it in your file. The only lines I see are vertical ones in the chandelier shot, but I think they are light ray artefacts (and they look fine, a bit like rain if anything).
If it is the interlacing, then you need to apply a deinterlace filter. However if your friends plan to watch it on DVD on a TV, it may not need it. Have you tried burning it as a DVD and watching it on a regular screen?

  • Why do I have yellowish border around image shadows?

Why do I have a faint yellowish border around my images' shadows in a Keynote presentation?
    Thanks,
    Jayne

I actually took my mac to an Apple store for them to look at this problem.
Four people looked at it including a creative person, a genius and a few technical people.
To no avail... they had no resolution!
Does anybody out there have a solution??
    Thanks.

  • Why do you have these obscure security questions

why are these security questions asked before one can get into their own ipad2:
    1. FAVORITE Make of a car
    2. Where were you on 2000?
    3. Favorite childhood name?
These are three questions that are very hard to remember, especially when they don't work half of the time when you actually try to answer them.
Can't you make the security questions your "own" questions, instead of going to a apple support document to where they are posted as part of the whole security process? The answers to these security questions arent the answers I tried or would remember anyway.
Then you get locked out of the whole password process for a day before you can get in to ask you the same questions all over again? Dumb.Really dumb!!!!

i have tried, what i thought was answering my security questions (according to itunes security questions) and filled the answers as best as i could, but now i can't even get past my birthdate either. I know what my birthdate is, but apparently it doesnt recognize me there either. i dont know what i can do to help me get past my birthdate and on to normal security questions. i have tried to answer these questions and after two or three times, have now been locked out again, for another 8 hours! !!!!
This is  very unacceptable to me. Is there anyone out there that has had this same problem and has figured out what to do to get around this 8 hour denial time limit and on to logging onto my own ipad2.

  • Why do I have green lines across the screen

This morning hubby turned on iPad and it has green lines through the screen. It is also circling the apps. Could this be a pixel problem.

There is no need to bang or drop the iPad!!  Read this solution.  Read the whole thing.
If your iPad is still under warranty, I have heard that Apple will simply exchange it for you.  That is not necessarily an ideal option, as many people do not want to have to bother with transfering all of their files to a brand new device.
My problem, however, was that my iPad was no longer under warranty when this occurred.  I was so sad, because the warranty is supposed to be for a year.  My mother bought it for me as a gift last Christmas, so it had not even been out of the box for a whole year when this happened.  Nevertheless, since my mother bought it in October, the warranty had *just* expired, since they go technically by the purchase date.
Apple offered to fix it for me for $300!!!!  A ridiculous price for a loose wire inside.  I simply am not in a position to spend that kind of money, and if I was, why not get a new device at that price (NON-Apple!).  I was very upset, but I didn't give up on it.  I scoured the Internet for an affordable solution, I found one, and it worked!!
The problem is caused by a loose cable on the inside, simple as that (can you imagine they ask $300 for the fix!!  After all I have invested in the App store, and buying the Apple keyboard to boot!!!).
The fix I found is simple, I did it, and it worked for me.  It is the same repair a professional would do in this situation.
The following video demonstrates how to open your iPad.  Warning!  This is a do-at-your-own-risk solution!  But I found it quite easy.  Watch the video (which actually demonstrates the entire process of replacing the screen),
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MG5HhdeP_VY
Obviously, for our issue, you will not remove your screen.  Simply disconnect the two cables as shown in the video, and reconnect them!!  Simple as that!  Then just reassemble it according to the video.
I purchased the prying tool and screw driver and latches from sw-box.com -- for under $20.  I think it comes from Hong Kong, but it only took 8 days to get to me in TX, USA.
I hope this helps someone else.

  • What are these lines around a table?

Probably a basic question, but I've run across something in

  • Why is there a white line around 1200 pixels and will it show up when I publish the site?

    Hello,
I am working on creating a website through Muse and as soon as my website exceeds 1200 in height, it shows this white line. How do I get it to go away or will it go away when I publish the site?
    Thank you.
    Nicole

There is not such a limit. Could you post a screenshot of this white line?

  • Fine line around placed object

I have been trying to place an image into photoshop cs6. This image however has a white 1 pixel outline around the border. It is very annoying and I can't seem to eliminate it so it doesnt affect the background colour. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Can you post an example and give us your OS and hardware info.  What kind of image file are you placing. Is it larger then the canvas its being placed into. I have never seen an 1 px border when I place in images?

  • Just wondering if anyone knows why these lines are showing when I print?

    Hi,
I am new to Photoshop Elements and was wondering if anyone could help.  I do not want these lines around my image showing up when I print. I am using Elements 8, Epson Artisan 1430 printer and Windows 8.
    Thank-you!

I am just unable to get it sized correctly when I print from that application.
Use the crop tool. If the paper stock is 5x7, then crop the file to 5x7.
    clctopoftheline wrote:
The paper has also been cropped and sized to the paper stock I am using.
    I do not comprehend this.
    Additional suggestions:
Be sure that you have the latest drivers for the printer. Check on the Epson web site
Clean the printhead and align the cartridges under maintainance
Make sure the size of paper loaded matches the paper size selected in PSE

  • Why do I have lines when I use the pattern tool ? is it an illustrator bug ? When I register it in .pdf or .jpg the line disappear ?

    Hello,
When I use the pattern tool via the window which is here : object / patter / create --> and I choose in the mosaic style by brick columns I have this result : http://bit.ly/1nozEl3
I don't understand why do I have those lines ? thanks for helping.

    Hello Jacob,
    Thanks for responding.
Yes, it's seems to be a screen artifact, when I zoom they seem to move or disappear but they're still here.
    With SVG, it's the same.
When I untick Anti-aliased Artwork, the artifact disappear, but my designs change, no more precision ! Have a look here :  http://bit.ly/UyGoVe
    Any other solution ?
    Thanks

  • Why do I have "Unified Info" and plain "Info" categories in my iPhone Contacts?

I have an iPhone 3GS (iOS 5.0.1), an iMac (OS X v10.7.3) and an iCloud account.  All are set to sync several things, but the topic of this inquiry is my Contacts.  I've noticed that when I open any given Contact listing on my iPhone, each is headed by one of two lines: "Unified Info" or plain "Info."  At the bottom of a "Unified Info" contact listing are two lines showing me "Linked Cards," one being for iCloud and the other for iPhone.  On the one headed plain "Info" there are no Linked Cards showing at the bottom of the contact listing.  As noted above, my system is  set so that the Contacts in my iPhone, my iCloud account and my iMac (which is further set to keep both my and my wife's contacts sync'd, as well) all read the same.  So why do I have these two "types" of entries on my iPhone?  I should note that all the important information in all three places (iPhone, iMac and iCloud) - name, numbers, addresses, etc. - IS THE SAME, but why do they have diffefent headings on my iPhone!?!  Any explanation from someone knowledgeable about this would be appreciated, and is there any way I can get - or should want to get - all the Contact entries on my iPhone to be "Unified Info" entries?  Thanks, in advance, for any help you can offer.

I've got the same problem. Showed up after trying they 'sync google contacts' feature in Address Book/iTunes. Suddenly I have duplicates of all my Contacts. Address Book doesn't see any duplicates using the 'Find Duplicates...' feature. In Address Book I can only tell the difference between the duplicates by comparing the information in them. The new ones (presumably from Google) are missing fields like URL and birthday. On the iPhone, however, the names have these squares after them. These squares don't show up in Address Book (if they did it would make it much easier to delete them all).

  • Dashed lines around graphics

I have little dashed lines that are appearing around all
    graphics inserted
into the page. I checked other sites I have created and they
    don't have
these lines ... so, it isn't the program in general, it must
    be an option
    that has turned on ???
    Thanks

You're welcome. I turned off the aids for a while as well,
    then realized
that they were helpful sometimes in seeing where borders of
    items are.
You can pick a div by clicking on its line, or see its
    properties by
hovering over the border, for instance.
    Good luck,

  • Lines around objects in IE...

    Hey all-
I am creaing flash images for website and am curious. How do
I remove those annoying dancing lines around the object so that the
user does not have to click on the image to interact ? It makes the
images so ugly when the mouse hits them and then the whole object
    is outlined.-irish

    Nickels-
Thank you very much for the link. I am new to flash 8 as I
got it just last month and have been messing with it since
    then.-irish
