Why do i have this block A font?
So I realize this is probably Itunes not reading the font file correctly but how do I fix it. Tried a reinstall, no good. This happened when I downloaded the new itunes. I flushed the font Cache through terminal hoping it would fix the problem as well and no luck. Also made sure there weren't any duplicates of Lucidia Grande.

I did... I believe the solution was to install ONYX and clear the cache. I believe arial font was corrupted or duplicated and it was interfering with the system too in the system fonts folder or it could have been another font in the helvetica family that was screwing it up. To be perfectly honest it was so long ago that it has slipped my mind. I've moved on from the macbook and upgraded to a macpro now and things seem to be running alot smoother.

There is a very good reason why Apple does this.
Basically it is to prevent people from sharing purchased content with their friends. If you buy an app that costs lets say $19.99 and you let a friend sign into your ID on his device in order to download that purchase for free - that is what most people would call stealing. And your not just stealing from Apple - you are really stealing the bulk of the money from the app developer.
There is nothing that you can do now. You have to wait the 90 days. And it is highly unlikely that any feedback to Apple is going to matter. I don't see them changing this anytime soon. -
Why do I have this voice distortion on export
Hello to akk, I am facing this problem while editing and exporting my current project: voice distortion. FYI, the present project has stretches of voiceovers interspersed with audio recorded by my Sony handycam. Even while editing the project on the timeline, I experienced, while adding effects to the audio, a voice distortion coming on and off. This voice distortion I experienced in both the voiceover and also the 'handycam-recorded' audio sections. I guess that while editing, I resorted to this method of getting rid of this distortion, stopping the play and starting again from a previous part of the project. This used to get rid of the distortion. While reviewing the project many times before export, the audio seemed to be fine. But after exporting [H 264 720p, 5 mbps, single pass], I have found this problem: the voiceover stretch is distorted whereas the 'handycam-recorded' audio is fine.
Is this distortion of the voice due to the effects I have added? The audio effect which I suspect to have caused this distortion [upon export] couls be 'STEREO SPREAD'. The other effect I have aded to the voiceover audio clips is: Voice Over Enhancement.
I shall move on and try to export after removing the 'stereo spread' effect and see what would happen. But untilsuch I time I would love to know from peers as to what has caused this problem. FYI, I have very little knowledge of the requirements of editing audio and I can say I am 'dabbling' with this matter. FYI, this screenshot shows the position of the project after I have done the unchecking of the stereo spread effect for all the 3 [compound] audio clips immediately beneath the primary storyline. When I had made the first export, the stereo spread effect was checked in all the three clips.
The first clip which has been selected and whose information is presented in the inspector window is the 'introductory' voice over which is a compound clip of several voice overs done for that section. It is this compound clip having the voice overs that is having a voice distortion. Pertinently, there is no voice distortion when the clip is played on the timeline having both the 'voice over enhancement' and the 'stereo spread' effects checked. It is only in the exported movie that I get the distortion. You may hear this distortion by viewing the video which I have posted on You Tube. The link to this video is given at the end of this post.
The above screenshot shows the second compound clip being selected. This clip contains the audio fro my Sony Handycam. The effects which have been added to this clip can be seen in the inspector window. You can see that the stereo spread is unchecked, but, it was checked when I had made the first export. There is no voice distortion in this compound clip either on the timeline or in the exported movie.
The above screenshot shows the third compound clip selected. This clip has all the voiceovers of the ending message of this project. There is no voice distortion with this clip either on the time line or after export with the two effects checked.

After upgrade why do I have Old English style font on alert boxes and text on some sites?
The browser is picking up fonts from my font list to use in browser alert boxes, pull down menus, and sometimes in whole web sites.
Unfortunately it chose a Old English font that is virtually impossible to read under 18pt. It also uses a second scrip font for Bold styles.
For an example of where it is used, the pull down menu at the bottom of the Firefox Help page labeled "Other Languages" appears on my screen as an Old English font called "Westminster Gofisch"You can do a check for corrupted and duplicate fonts and other font issues:

1. If you Reconstruct the Request from Manage screen of your Data Target,You will get the Reconstruct node in the Monitor screen.
2. If the load Process is running through Processchain you will get Processchain node.

Every time I open a pdf file which includes a javascript, a dialogue box pops up. I have a question why 'Do not show this message again' is not working even I checked on the checkbox. I keep getting calls from (removed), so I added that number to my list of calls to block. It doesn't ring anymore, but I keep getting notification messages that say "Call back (removed)". Why do I receive this when the call should be blocked?

Turn the phone off, then back on again. If that does not work, then try a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot. See if that changes things. Is the caller using the exact number that you blocked, or is it possible they are using another number, or have restricted the Caller ID?

WHY!?!?! Why do I have to make a CSS RULE with every Font Change
I am no major developer, but I have been using dreamweaver to build basic HTML sites for years. Just downloaded CS5 and I am ready to put my fist through the screen.
I am creating a NEW HTML document. I dont know much about CSS so I am avoiding it.
So I create a few tables, put text in the table, and go to change the attibutes like size, color, etc. Now I need to define it by making a CSS rule. Ok, perhaps I am a bit behind, but I selected a new HTML document, NOT CSS. Why do I have to define anything with CSS?
Yes, this is a basic basic thing I am trying to do. For years if I wanted to change the color, size, position, etc of some simply text in DW, it would just do it. I would never be asked to make a rule.
What is frusterating me is that I am making a rule, adjusting text, I can partially live with that. But now it is changing the attributes of text on the other wide of the page in a different table because it had similar attributes.
How do I go back to old school html, stright forward, no CSS.

This question comes up a lot and it always interests me. If you choose a profession, why would you choose something you don't want to continue learning about? Would you be mad if your mechanic wouldn't repair your hybrid car engines because they only want to work on engines from the muscle cars of the 60s and 70s? Or would you prefer a doctor only give you penicillin for everything because they don't want to learn about the modern advances in medicine? It just doesn't make sense.
Best advise I can give you is that CSS is the way all web browsers and email clients are going whether through the use of attached style sheets with defined styles, or with inline styles for email security reasons. CSS is the styling for anything web based. Even if you are not in a CSS document, HTML pages use CSS to render styles from colors and margins to borders and backgrounds. Then if you use a rule over and over you don't have to click through this color and that size and that underline with this font. You just select a style where you want it and keep going. The learning is worth the time invested.
