Why do I have to be beside my modem to use my iPad for the internet
I am with eircom broadband and I have been having problems with my connection. the iPad that I have is the iPad 2 and I can only use my wifi/internet when I am up close beside my modem. today I rang eircom and told them about my issue and they upgraded the download or something and told me to choose a different Chanel number that I was using and nothing has changed. I don't know if it's a problem with my broadband or if it's to do with my iPad. I have an iPod touch 4th generation and I kind of have the same problematic it but it's not as bad, I'm able to be further away from my modem than with my iPad. Ive asked other people about it who have had this problem and they said it's to do with my router but I'm not sure if that's what eircom told me my problem was. if you could tell me if the issue with it can be something to do with my iPad do you know what I need to do?
Have you tried connecting to another router/network?

Barrythere is an app called daisydisk on mac app store which will help you see exactly where the memory is focused and consumed try using that app and see which folders are using more memory

I recently upgraded to windows 7 but had this problem in Windows XP as well. If I try to go to iTunes from Chrome it seems to break my connection with iTunes and I can't get to the store anymore. When I try to launch the iTunes store, my iTunes application closes down. No error, it just shuts down.
I think that being signed into your apple.com account but with Safari first and foremost would be better as that would allow an Apple cookie to be set down onto an integral proprietary application (yes the Safari browser - go figure). Then (that is secondarily) you should sign into iTunes and have (more reliable) fun.
Google's motto was "Do No Evil" was it not? So do you honestly believe that their primary business interests and application performance jives with that of Apple? Sometimes yes, other times...no. Sorry, just sayin. -

I have an iphone 4s and upgrade to ios6. It wont connect now after the upgrade to itunes and the itunes doesnt regonize the device. Im so freaking sad. Please somebody give me a fix. Why did I have to upgrade to ios6? Please somebody let me see the light.
I cant even get into itunes because it wont recognize it to do a reboot or a rollback.The terms of service of the Apple Support Communities prevent us from helping anyone with a jailbroken phone.

That's correct, regardless of browser used I could close my browser and not have to log in, but typically that only lasted for a few hours. Something in the re-design seems to have made it such that you have to sign in each and every time to re-open your browser and come here.

i have been using an ipad for songs, apps, etc, i now am migrating to a mac book, my question is, i have been using my wifes apple id for all of our purchases, sharing, etc. now that i have a laptop, i am wondering, why should i get my own user id or why would i not just continue on using our common id?
she worries about us taking up too much space in the cloud, which i am not using yet but will learni dont know why you would make a separate account either if you have been getting on fine before, unless you need to talk to your wife with iMessage or something
if you do run out of cloud storage it's probably cheaper to just upgrade it than make your own apple id and have to buy everything again -

Lion may have replaced files that partially made up your printer drivers. Either way, HP saw fit to make a new set of drivers specifically for 10.7 so you may want to use it simply to avoid any bugs tehy found.

Why does my iphone 3gs screen go white after it goes "to sleep" for the first time after turning it on?
The screen isn't broken because it works after i turn the device off and back on, but after it goes black once, it's only white again.
But it takes the touches although it's only white, because I can answer my phone when I slide my finger on the bottom of the screen, eventhough there in not the button to see.

My wife's iPhone is the same vintage as mine 3Gs, but has never had the battery problem. Its affliction instead is that it cannot detect WiFi networks unless it is quite close to the source. Often, when my iPhone not only detects but shows a maximum cells connection with a network, hers cannot detect the network at all. In contrast, her iPhone seems to detect ourcellular carrier just as well as mine does.
Is there any help for this affliction? -
From what I can tell, when I select the movie and hit the airplay button to move it to the apple TV, my iPad is still doing all the work of streaming the movie. Why can't the apple TV take over the heavy work at this point? I'd like to be able to use my iPad as more of a remote with an awesome interface for the apple TV. The netflix app on iPad is great, and the easiest way to browse movies, and pushing them to the apple TV is fantastic, but once the movie starts, I want to use my iPad for other things!!! Can this be put on the "to do" list for devs?

Have you tried the Remote app on iPhone/iPad to control AppleTV, do searches etc? Should be easier than the remote alone and this does not involve Airplay.
Please note, only users read/comment here - your idea is quite sensible in my view (maybe have a 'Continue viewing on AppleTV' option or something. I doubt this would be high on Apple's roadmap but send them feedback here:

I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build. The same call works fine when running on the device (iPhone) using debug build. When running with a release build, the result handler is never called (nor is the fault handler called). Viewing the BlazeDS logs in debug mode, the call is received and send back with data. I've narrowed it down to what seems to be a data size issue.
I have targeted one specific data call that returns in the String value a string length of 44kb, which fails in the release build (result or fault handler never called), but the result handler is called as expected in debug build. When I do not populate the String value (in server side Java code) on the object (just set it empty string), the result handler is then called, and the object is returned (release build).
The custom object being returned in the call is a very a simple object, with getters/setters for simple types boolean, int, String, and one org.23c.dom.Document type. This same object type is used on other other RemoteObject calls (different data) and works fine (release and debug builds). I originally was returning as a Document, but, just to make sure this wasn't the problem, changed the value to be returned to a String, just to rule out XML/Dom issues in serialization.
I don't understand 1) why the release build vs. debug build behavior is different for a RemoteObject call, 2) why the calls work in debug build when sending over a somewhat large (but, not unreasonable) amount of data in a String object, but not in release build.
I have't tried to find out exactly where the failure point in size is, but, not sure that's even relevant, since 44kb isn't an unreasonable size to expect.
By turning on the Debug mode in BlazeDS, I can see the object and it's attributes being serialized and everything looks good there. The calls are received and processed appropriately in BlazeDS for both debug and release build testing.
Anyone have an idea on other things to try to debug/resolve this?
Platform testing is BlazeDS 4, Flashbuilder 4.7, Websphere 8 server, iPhone (iOS 7.1.2). Tried using multiple Flex SDK's 4.12 to the latest 4.13, with no change in behavior.
Thanks!After a week's worth of debugging, I found the issue.
The Java type returned from the call was defined as ArrayList. Changing it to List resolved the problem.
I'm not sure why ArrayList isn't a valid return type, I've been looking at the Adobe docs, and still can't see why this isn't valid. And, why it works in Debug mode and not in Release build is even stranger. Maybe someone can shed some light on the logic here to me. -

ChiponnThere's been an update for OSX ML which addresses the issue for installing Windows 8 on bootcamp.
It's NOT recommended that you Upgrade.. However, the way to get the drivers is:
You'll need an external USB drive formatted as FAT for this.
1) In OSX, start the Bootcamp Assistant
2) Press Next
3) UNTICK 'Remove WIndows 7 or Later Version'
4) TICK Download the Latest Windows Support Software from Apple
5) Insert USB drive
6) Press CONTINUE
The drivers should download, and copy a WIndowsSupport folder onto the USB drive.
I did notice that Windows 8 still requires beta drivers for some aspects such as VGA (the Radio HD Card), which you can get on the AMD website.
Futhermore, why are you using Windows 8 "32" bit when you blatently have a powerful 64bit?

I used to search for a name and it would find it in One or All mailboxes. Now it sometimes works, but mostly not. Any solutions?I would like to add that Comcast is my internet provider. Perhaps that is part of the issue although the Connection Doctor confirms the mail box is connecting to the internet. No other function processes when Connection Doctor program is used to find the source of the issue. I have read forum posts but am unable to find a way to get my Apple mail to be delivered to my computer. It worked fine up until I chose to transfer mail to the Cloud. My mail account is a .mac account.
Still hoping someone out there can help me.

I have 3 iTunes courses that i downloaded using my iPad. After syncing my iPad with iTunes on my mac, these 3 courses do not appear on my mac iTunes library yet they are still on my iPad.
I have 2 other courses that I downloaded frim my iPad and these appeared on my iTunes (mac) library.
Any idea why the other 3 that i downloaded were not synced in iTunes?You and the iPad can function with the Remote App from across the room, or in another room.
However, your stereo system has to have a way to communicate or connect with the computer. Unless it has some kind of wifi connector or has Bluetooth, I don't see how you can do this.
There is no app or software to resolve this. You need a way for the stereo to connect. -

Really impossible to watch shows on websites?
Lots of websites (networks like cbs.com, hulu.com if not using Hulu Plus, etc.) allow you to watch full-content episodes of recent TV shows, streamed to the browser. I know the iPad doesn't do Flash, but I still feel like I must be missing something
