Why do I have to click the go button after typing a URL? Before FF6 I could just hit enter.

I just recently updated to Firefox 6. Before the update, I was able to type a address into the URL bar and hit return. Nice and easy. Now if I do this I get no response. To direct to a web page I have to move my cursor to click the go button. It's annoying and a waste of time. What happened here? Any way I can change things so I can just hit enter again?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

I begin uploading video to Facebook and a small window opens to show the progress bar but, the video stops uploading about every 5% when a notification comes from the top bar stating: "Firefox prevented the page from reloading" with an Allow button on the right. Regardless of clicking the allow button and putting Facebook in every exception list Firefox options seems to have or even turning pop up blockers off, that dam button keeps coming! How do I prevent or disable this?

Before the tab loads and takes you to the website, I now have to click a small arrow at the far right of the location bar for it to load the page. What setting changed in Firefox 4?

You can get the drop down list by either right-clicking on the back/forward buttons, or holding down the left button until the list appears.

Why do I have to click the green arrow on the location bar instead of pressing ENTER to prompt the new webpage to load?

When entering a web page (e.g., www.aol.com) I would normally hit the ENTER key on my keyboard and the aol webpage would open. However, using Firefox 4.0.1 on my desktop, I have to enter the webpage (e.g., www.aol.com) and then use the mouse to right-click on the green arrow tab located to the right of the location bar. This is not the case on my wife's laptop, however. And she is using the same version of Firefox.

This was very very helpful and I resolved the issue. The problem ended up being an extension from my AVG firewall that I had to disabled, once I disabled the ext Firefox worked properly again.

Why do I have to click the cloud to download podcasts?

While my podcasts are updating, they appear to automatically download only to icloud. Now, I am forced to click on the cloud icon to the right of each episode of every podcasts in order to download the podcasts into itunes before they will sync to my ipod. What is up with that?

I think this is the same issue as I had - I had almost 1000 episodes to download and they all only had the cloud symbol next to them.
If you go to the 'My Podcast' tab, and then right click on the podcast name in the left hand pane, a 'download all' option shows up. Click that and it will start downloading all those episodes that have a cloud icon next to them.

My new iphone 5 s never finishes a sync. it stays on the "finishing sync" stage forever, and I ultimately have to click the done button without getting finished.

This may sound stupid but for some reason I can no longer use the return button after typing in a url to go to that site. Does anyone know how to fix this?

For some reason this stopped working on firefox a week or so ago. I have tried to uninstall and install firefox again but the problem still persists. I've tried both chrome and explorer and they don't seem to have this problem.
I'd hate to stop using firefox but this so annoying that in less i can fix it, i'll have to change my browser!

I'd try starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. In one of my pages i have to click the submit button twice to invoke its action.

I also have value change listener methods for two drop down lists whose immediate property is set to true to bypass the validation. If i change the dropdownlist selection then its value change listener method is successfully invoked, then after if i click the submit button, then it will works.

When a third party program creates a new Google calendar event using a http link I cannot click the save button in Firefox 9.01 or 10b2.

I use a TV listings program called DigiGuide. This has a script that opens a new Google Calendar event page in my browser for a specified TV program with all fields already completed. I then just have to click the SAVE button on the Google Calendar site to save the event - but since updating to 9.01 from 8.xx this button and others (Discard, Search) has no effect, although the cursor changes when over the button as if it recognised a link. Opening the same page in Chrome works fine. I have also noticed that Calendar's other buttons (e.g. next/previous period) can stop working on the main Calendar page, which I have as a pinned tab - in this event navigating away from Calendar and back again regains that functionality. The issue persists in Firefox 10b2.

Further investigation reveals this only happens when the event is created from within WP native calendar app and disappears when I make an edit to the event in any other calendar client including Google web. So a more appropriate description of the problem would be:
"Native calendar app keeps subtracting 1h off a Google calendar event on EVERY edit"
Create an event at 2013/07/17 15:00 in WP native calendar app. Result: Event shows as 2013/07/17 15:00 in the calendar app for a few seconds, then updates itself to 2013/07/17 14:00.
Edit the event title and save in WP native calendar app. Event time moves by -1h again to 2013/07/17 13:00.
Edit the event title in Google web calendar.
Subsequent edits in WP native calendar do not mess up the time any longer. If I fix the time to what I originally intended (2013/07/17 15:00) in WP native calendar app, it stays there and shows correctly in all previously mentioned calendar viewers.
I just learned that Lumia 925 was released with GDR2 update pre-installed. This update is only now being made generally available. If the issue is secific to the CalDAV implementation in GDR2 rather than specific to my phone only, this would make a lot of angry people. I hope I'm wrong on this though as it's an extremely frustrating problem.

I just did an update to 6.0 on Lion. Now when I re-open Safari after closing it by clicking the red button it re-opens to my home page, not all my previous tabs.. prior to the update it would re-open with all my previous tabs, which is what I want.

I've had what I think is the same problem since the most recent software update. I have Lion 10.7.4 and have updated to Safari 6.0. The most noticeable difference is that where previously I had two boxes at the top of the Safari window (one to enter URL addresses, one for Google searches), there is now only one box for both functions. I don't like that as well, but I can live with it. However, since the most recent software update my "back button" only works about 5% of the time. Most of the time it is grayed out. So I usually can't get back to previous pages using the back button. Also, when I've clicked a link that opens a new window (for instance, going through the return process at Amazon, I clicked UPS locator and it opened a new window), where in the past I would have just clicked the red button after I had the information, the UPS locator window would have closed, and I would have been back at Amazon - now if I close the UPS locator window, all Safari windows close. The Safari application doesn't close, but the Amazon window closes, I'm back to an empty screen, and I have to open a new Safari window and reenter everything. I'm using a work-around of clicking on History and selecting the description of the window I want to get back too, but that only works part of the time. In the Amazon example, that's what I did once I had the UPS info, but even though I clicked the correct window description, it took me back to the beginning of the return process & I had to reenter all the info. Of course, that info was easy to reenter, but if I'm in the middle of a complicated process, it's a big problem. I've filed a bug report; I surely hope the Apple engineers are able to fix this. I'm used to using the back button function a lot!
