  • Why do i have to contact support every time i buy an app?

    I can't believe I am the only person experiencing this. I've been an apple customer for over six years. I have two personal ipads, one work ipad, and two personal iphones with them. For some unknown reason this year they decided to put some restriction on my account that if i try to buy an app from the app store, I have to call in to support to get it to go through. Support fixes it, but ONLY FOR THAT PURCHASE. Anytime afterward that I want to buy an app, I have to go through the same thing again. Every time I call, I get a difference excuse for why it's happening. One person told me it's because i got a refund on an app once (mind you , the refund was because APPLE doublecharged me for one app, not anything that was my fault). Lately the new line has been that it's "for my protection". Who on god's green earth thinks that is a reasonable way to treat a customer? Why only me? I don't see anyone else complaining about this. I spent thousands of dollars on Apple equipment expecting a certain kind of service, and instead I'm treated like a criminal where I can't even buy an app with a valid credit card without getting special permission. Has Apple lost their collective minds?

    Yes, you can do something like that. What you would do is create a button for each image and then hide them. When I do this type of thing I place all of the buttons on a template page and then hide the template.
    You can then use JavaScript to copy the icon from any of the hidden buttons to the main button that you've set up to display the image. For example, suppose you set up 10 buttons named b1, b2, b3, ...b10. The code to copy the icon from one of them to the button used to display the image (b0) would be something like this:
    // Get the icon from the b3 button
    var oIcon = getField("b3").buttonGetIcon();
    // Get  reference to the b0 button
    var f = getField("b0");
    // Set the icon of the b0 button to the icon retrieved from the hidden button
    f.buttonSetIcon(oIcon);
    // Show the b0 button
    f.display = display.visible;
    This code would go in the Mouse Up event of the smaller button.

  • HBO GO: Why do I have to sign in every time?

    Every time I open a new browser window to HBO GO, I have to sign in again.  I'm accustomed to web sites using cookies to keep me logged in.  Also, it doesn't automatically remember what I've been watching, and navigation is practically nonexistent.  Every time I want to watch another episode of the same show I was just watching, I have to search for it again and browse through all the episodes to get back to where I was.  Why is this site so inconvenient compared to other web sites?

    Please check your cookie settings. The cookies is what remembers information from the different websites. It's the Verizon website it has to authenticate to. So when you go to the HBO go website, it then authenticates at the Verizon website (a third party site according to your browser since its going outside the HBO go site)

  • HT201493 why do I have to log on  every time I want to use this app?  Logging on is a collosal pain,

    Logging on every time makes the app much less useful.

    That wouldn't protect your friends.
    Not sure why you are averse to using a screenlock, you run a precarious line by not doing.

  • Why do I have to sign in every time use ibooks

    Since the ios7 update, almost every time I use iBooks it prompts me to sign into my appstore account.  This is new behavior and is aggrevating.  Why is it necessary?  Am I missing something?

    Pretty sure it's a bug, same problem here. Only started after installing iOS7 7.0.2. It's only happening on my iPad though, not on the iPhone. However, the iPhone (which is logged into iCloud) is not syncing my progress from other devices.

  • Why do I have to log in every time I access iCloud?

    I need to log in each time I access iCloud from Firefox or Safari, even though I always check the "Keep me signed in " box.  Is anyone else having this problem?  I never explicitly log out of iCloud (I don't know how I would do that anyway).  If I bring up my calendar in Firefox and then exit from Firefox, the next time I bring it up I have to log in again.  It's supposed to keep you logged in for 2 weeks if you check the "Keep me signed in" box.  Have you seen this problem?  Do you know of a fix?
    Thanks!

    This has now cleared up for me, I don't know why.  Maybe Apple has fixed it?  I did "Clear Recent History" in Firefox, but that didn't fix it immediately.  It cleared up shortly after that, so maybe that had something to do with it.  It's a mystery!

  • HT5622 Why do I have to sign in every time I run itunes

    Is there a way to change settings so that each time I run iTunes I dont have to sign in, I can understand having to after starting the computer, but not when its on and I've already accessed iTunes and signed in.
    This is a recent thing, before I had no issues, but over the last week its happening all the time and there is no option on the login to save my password,

  • Why do I have to refresh tabs every time I do a search with Firefox 7.01?

    Whenever I try to open a new item from a Google search, the new tab appears with the "busy" circle icon, but nothing appears on the screen until I do a "tab refresh." Sometimes I have to do this twice before the site will finally appear.

  • Remote Object: Do I have to call "read" every time I change data?

    I have a dataset of about 500 records that I need to read
    into a datagrid and be able to add, modify or delete. Using
    remoteObject, I call a 'read' method which gets the data and
    populates the datagrid. Reading the data alone takes about 6-8
    seconds, which is acceptable when first opening the application.
    However, to keep the data fresh after each addition or
    modification, I have to re-read the data into an arrayCollection.
    Is there any way to update only the record(s) that is
    affected by the changes, so I don't have to keep reading the whole
    table and refreshing the arrayCollection each time I make a
    change?

    Yes, this would be one option. When receiving the data from
    your DB, you could save this data to your primary (display)
    ArrayCollection and a copy (source.concat()) to a secondary
    ArrayCollection. After modifying the items on your primary
    ArrayCollection you could compare both Collections and generate a
    third Collection containing only the changed objects. This third
    collection would be the one you send back to be updated at your DB.
    The second method, which i would particularly recommend is
    saving each modification and just returning the modified object.
    For instance, your Collection has 10 items and you are modifying
    the 3rd item, id = 3. After editing this item you could save its
    index (2) and your update method returns only the modified item
    instead of a new list (select * from my_table where id = 3). Now
    knowing its index (as var or AsynkToken property) you could easily
    update/substitute this item on your collection.
    Choosing between each option will depend only on what you
    intend do do. You may also create some variations in order to get
    more or less security while changing your data.

    Peter

  • Why does my keyboard and mouse freeze every time I change audio drivers?

    I recently switched audio drivers from my M-Audio Ozone to my TV, which I've done before. When I tried to switch back, my mouse and keyboard become frozen! I know my Mac Mini isn't frozen, because I have my clock display the seconds and its still going strong. Help!!!

    Is this your Mac:
    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/stats/imac_cd_1.83_17_ig.html
    And, is this the RAM you got:
    RAM Type:
    PC2-5300 DDR2
    Min. RAM Speed:
    667 MHz
    Even if it is the correct specs, it could still be a defective RAM module; also, iMacs are known to be extremely finicky about their RAM; i.e. OWC (macsales.com) and Crucial are generally recommended here - Kingston (especially their and an other Value brand line) are not. So, have you checked your RAM status? Go to Apple  in menu, click on about this Mac, click on more info, click on Memory and see that the modules show "ok" and please post back with that.
    Secondly, the keyboard issue could also be a USB port issue - I had that problem on a previous (white) iMac - I kept plugging in/unplugging. The problem here is that the USB ports are an integral part of the logic board which means a rather expensive repair/replacement. So, once we've eliminated the RAM as a culprit and considering the age of the Mac, you might want to make an appointment at your nearest Genius Bar for a free evaluation and diagnosis. You can then make a decision. In my case, I was covered by Applecare, so the logic board was replaced free of charge.
