Why do I have to log in to Mountain Lion twice?
This started about a month ago for no reason that I could see. Start up Macbook Air choose user, enter password, screen flashes and I have to do it again. Any ideas?

Why does itunes have me logging in multiple times to buy a song? I can access everything else fine, but now my account is disabled for some reason although my password was entered correctly... help
I've seen a couple of other threads over the last 10 minutes posting similar problems, so it appears to have affected other people as well - the poster on the first thread has now posted again saying that it's now working for him, so you could give it another try.
Edit : your reply appeared as I was attempting to post this -
why do I have to log in all the time into iCloud every time in spite of clicking the "keep me logged in" box?
It is amazing that Apple does nothing about this. It used to work before but this function (keep me logged in) stopped working a couple of months ago. Many people seem to have the same problem but Apple seems unable to solve their own problems...

Why do I have to log in to my email ?
OK why do I have to log in every single time I want to check my email now? I have even checked the "keep me signed in" box (which is now totally useless BTW).
For someone such as myself that checks my e-mail in excess of 50 times a day it is a waste of my time to have a service that won't let be stay logged in for more that a short amount of time.
I have contacted technical support which did try to help but failed to see the problem is on your end, not mine.I have an icon on my desktop

When I click on ot it takes me directly to my VZ Email …once I have signed in for the day

I have upgraded my OS to Mountain Lion and updated Iphoto to latest, however, I still can not access photos sent to me via photo stream. what else do I need to do? I'm $30 into this effort, and no results!
Log out of iCloud in the System/iCloud preference pane and disable Photo Stream in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane. Then log back in and re-enable, respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream.

Why can't brand new MacBookPro9,1 (OEM Mountain-Lion) boot from Snow Leopard on external drive, or internal partition?
Is this because of hardware changes? Or firmware changes? Or is it just and Apple Inc. administrative fiat?@Steve Holton: Sorry Steve, but you're wrong about that one . I'm using 10.8 (purchased and downloaded) on the internal HD of this MBP8,3 (2.2 GHz, 17"), and I am also able to boot into 10.7.4 and 10.6.8 from external FW800 partitions.
However, I DO have problems with my MBP9,1. It came with 10.7.4 installed and ran fine. Then I purchased and installed 10.8. It ran fine but could no longer boot from 10.7.4 on an external partition. I then reinstalled 10.7.4 on the internal HD and discovered that it is still unable to boot (even 10.7.4) from an external FW800 partition.
One of Apple's Senior Support Advisors has done some remote troubleshooting but the case is still open and unresolved. An earlier Apple Support case suggested that when, I installed the downloaded copy of 10.8, there had been a "firmware update" (behind the scenes) that is now causing the problems with booting from my external partition(s). This apparently is "a bug": it is not what is supposed to happen.
So - I believe - "the problem" really has nothing to do with hardware capability. It is strictly about Apple's strategy for "managing its future customer base". If you don't like it - use something else - I am seriously considering Ubuntu as an alternative.
If there's a hidden caveat in all this it's probably "Read Appple's Licence Agreement VERY Carefully". -
Why is my iMac (G5) not compatible with mountain lion?
Why is my iMac (G5) not compatible with mountain lion? I have 4 GB ram (667) and around 90GB hard drive space.

iMac G5 can only be upgraded to 10.5.8.
If you have continuing use, you are among the lucky ones. I purchased many of these used from a company that shut down its American office. Many of these eventually suffered from the "bad capacitor" problem and required a motherboard replacement from Apple. I was lucky in that my local Genius bar approved these for no charge, even though Apple's extended warranty had expired.
My last one was my desktop Mac. It's power supply failed in 2010 and I paid for a replacement. In Summer 2011 when its HD failed, I decided it was time to move on and purchaed a Mac Mini, which I continue to run on Lion. -
I HAVE A I MAC WITH MOUNTAIN LION BUT WHEN I DOWNLOAD MAVERICKS ALL STAR GOING BAD AND RIGTH NOW THE COMPUTER DOESNT START I AM **** UP HOW CAN RESTORE MY ORIGINAL OS LION MOUNTINE.
OR WHAT CAN I DO TO RESTORE MY COMPUTER THERE IS A LOT INFORMATION THERE WHY MAVERICKS IS TROUBLESHOOTING.Don't post in all caps. Besides being more difficult to read it's tantamount to shouting and is considered rude in forums. What problems are you having? What model Mac do you have, how much RAM and free space on the boot drive?
Boot into the Recovery volume (boot with the Command + R keys held down) and try the following in order as needed:
1 - select Disk Utility and repair both the disk and disk permissions. Reboot normally.
2 - reinstall the Mavericks system.

Best Regards,You need to upgrade your copy of MS Office. You're using a version that is 8 years old (at least). You can buy Office 2011, which will work. You could also get a copy of Pages from the App Store, which is cheaper and will open Word files (though not perfectly). Or you could get a free Office clone, like OpenOffice or LibreOffice.

Have down loaded Yosemite over Mountain Lion. Indesign CS5 does not operate although Bridge, Light room and also Photoshop elements operate OK A sub menu from Indesign request Java SE 6, after a long play with Apple I end up with Java 10 How can I solve this problem rapidly. Pity apple do not test there products before offering them to the public. It costs us. Many thanks Davi E-C
It isn't Apple's job to ensure third party software works with a new OS. But Java 6 is here:

I have upgraded my OS into Mountain Lion and now I cannot see any net storage disks. may someone help me? thanks
Hi kiwirudy,
I've had the same problem more than once since I started trying to download my 14 April purchase of OS X Mountain Lion.
I found a property list called manifest.plist in my ~/Library/Application Support/AppStore folder which had a Boolean property called failed checked. I unchecked it and afterwards I was able to resume my download.
Here are some steps I've found useful:
Close the Mac App Store.
make a copy of the ~/Library/Application Support/AppStore folder. For some strange reason the Mac App Store likes to just delete it in some circumstances, which will mean that one has to start one's download again from the very beginning.
Double click on the manifest.plist in one's ~/Library/Application Support/AppStore folder.
This should open it in Property List Editor.
Expand all the nodes (holding down the alt key and clicking on the highest collapsed node should do it.
Find a key called failed of type Boolean and uncheck it.
Save the manifest.plist and close it.
Open the Mac App Store.
The red message "an error has occured" should now be gone and one should be able to resume one's download.
In the event that the ~/Library/Application Support/AppStore folder gets deleted:
start the download again (it will start from the beginning), pause it and close the Mac App Store.
copy your backup copy of the pkg file back to its sub-folder (it's a numbered folder in the ~/Library/Application Support/AppStore folder).
Open the Mac App Store and resume your download.
It should continue from where it left off.
This has worked for me so far. I'm holding my breath. Don't know if I'll still be alive when it's finished.
Regards
Nic

Why facetime can't open in os x mountain lion
why facetime can't open in os x mountain lion.
and it always say can't find the facetime server!Yeah, you probably need at least $21.50 depending on where you live. In my case, tax is 8.25%, so I would need $21.65 account credit to buy it. If you add a credit card to your account, it will use all of your store credit, then take the remaining dollar or so from your credit card to buy it.

HT202159 I have partially downloaded OS X Mountain Lion ...
I have partially downloaded OS X Mountain Lion. I lost my internet connection and my download stopped. I put my computer to sleep and took it somewhere else with a different connection to finish the download. Where I am, internet isn't very fast and so a download requires me to leave it on overnight . I got 3GB out of the 4GB the way there when this happened so I'd really like to avoid starting this over again.
When I go to purchases on the Mac App Store it says "An error has occurred" with a blank grey box next to it, and clicking it does nothing. Clicking "Check for unfinished downloads" also does nothing. Clicking "buy app" and it tells me I can download the app for free, and then it just hangs and nothing happens.
Is there a way to find the partially downloaded file on my Mac and restart where I left off?Same issue. I went into Activity Monitor and killed the stalled process. When I restarted App Store, the download started from scratch. I assumed that my earlier download had been overwritten, and sure enough, it had been. I followed these instructions to reveal the temp directory:
http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-57480536-263/tackling-mountain-lion-downloa d-errors/
There was only one file in there (mzm.whodaifs.pkg), and it's the same size as currently indicated by the App Store progress bar. No 2.5GB file in sight. At least that's not going to sit around taking up HD space.
I've come across this other method for restarting downloads:
http://www.ryanragle.com/index.php?/site/comments/where-does-the-mac-app-store-d ownload-temp-files-to
Though it's now a moot question, I might try the debug menu method if it happens again.

IPhoto '08 User Interface Changes Make Printing Really Hard For Me.
The printing menus and options are so much different in iPhoto 2008, I have so many problems I can't begin list them all. But I'll try. I hope some Apple iPhoto developers read this, and decide to make iPhoto 2008 as good as the old iPhoto printing.
