Why do I have to reauthorise my computer?

I recently had my G5 repaired during which they had to install Leopard instead of Tiger, and which also involved a new HD onto which they migrated all my data and settings from the old HD.
I just tried to play a Protected track in iTunes, and got the message "You must authorise this computer to play this track". But when I go to iTunes Store I see that I'm logged in to my account there, and I can see my account credit.
Am I getting this message because my HD was changed? In which case, how do I de-authorise my old HD seeing how it's not attached any longer? (I still have it but it cannot be connected).
I don't want to go down the route of deauthorising everything, as my sister's laptop is also authorised to my account in order to play the music I bought for her before she got her own iTunes account. Is there a way I can deauthorise the old HD only?
At present I am not going to authorise this computer in case my theory of what's wrong is mistaken. Any advice welcome.

You don't. HDs are not authorized, computers are.

You don't need to deauthorize everything unless you have 5 computers authorized.

After installing the most recent version of adobe reader, a prompt popped up, asking me to reboot my computer to complete installation. Why is it asking me to do this? Is it safe? And (if so,) how should I go about doing this??

I don't know why - I never had to restart my computer after installing any Adobe updates.

Why do I have to restart my computer with every Firefox upgrade?

For that past several upgrades, I have to restart my computer to complete the installation. If I don't restart my PC, firefox will not open. I use firefox on other computers and have never had to restart any of them after an upgrade. The computer that has to be restarted is a Win7 Home Premium 32-bit system.

Run this once and see what happens when the next update occurs? What's strange is that I don't know there was an update until I try to open FF. Then it tells me that I must restart my PC for the upgrade to complete. If I don't, I can't get into FF.

Safari is my browser and i like it, very polish an efficient.
But Safari 4 became really annoying. Why do i have to reboot my computer to update it !
It's a big regression in a user perspective... It recall me the old days with Windows when any update ask to restart... Grr...
I understand that webkit is a framwork used by other software, OK. But in 2009, can you just check is any softwre use it, instead of restarting the computer.

The fact that other applications use webkit is not a reason for a system reboot.. those applications, if they are open at the time of the update.. can merely be quit during.. then restarted after the webkit update. The only user interaction.. and interruption... would be the click of a button.. and a chat.. browser.. mail restart. That is entirely different than having the system reboot.. which requires that you drop everything.
Perhaps.. since this obviously isn't a browser update.. Apple can just call it what it is.. an OS security update.... Since webkit is down deep in the OS enough to require a reboot.
For those of you that don't think this is a big deal.. out of principle, it seems odd to revert to Win 95-like behavior. Apple chose to do it this way.. they weren't forced to.
Maybe they wanted to make Window's switchers feel more at home
Kernel and firmware updates should be the only things requiring a system reboot. Everything else (iTunes, iPhoto,Safari) and be done through plain file replacement service restarts.

Why do I have to reboot my computer to connect to my remote speakers. I have used this for a year. Run my home through I-tunes, it has worked great. Now, itunes wont connect to remote speakers. I lost my connection with internet with Shaw. When they turned it back on. This is what has happened. Been checking ip addresses, etc, all seems good. The only thing that works is rebooting. If you need to authorize your new computer and are unable due to already having five authorized computers, you can deauthorize all computers by doing the following:

3. Click the Account button again (your Apple ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
4. In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.

I have some questions about the different versions of Adobe CC installed on my computer. Is not only with Photoshop, also with Illustrator and InDesign.
Which of the three versions of Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator or InDesign is the latest?
Why do I have on my computer three different versions of Adobe Photoshop: CC (64 Bit), CC 2014 and CC? Every one of them is installed in a different directory of my computer.
Which one should I have installed on a computer with windows 7 pro 64 bit?
Can I uninstall the older versions?

CC 2014 should be the latest version. You can uninstall any others if you choose to.

This is a good question. It's possible your Xserver isn't configured for the correct mouse type. Try logging into a command line console (no X11 running). Run /usr/bin/X11/X -configure. It should create an Xorg configuration file in your root directory.
Copy this to /etc/X11/Xorg.conf and try restarting your Xserver. The file it creates might require some tweaking.

I have installed adobe flash player 11 various versions many times in my Windows 7 64-bit computer. It seems like once a week I'm having to do this. Why do you have to install the same version so many times?

I have been having the exact same problem since buying my new HP Powerbook laptop. Windows 7 64bit running IE9. The strange thing is it is rather sporadic I can watch numerous youtube vids fine, and then all of a sudden, I start getting the error where the Exclamaition Mark shows up and then other times when there is a notice that HTML5 or Flash is not installed. I then reinstall Flash, and vids work againg until the next time this happens. The problem also sometimes appear to clear up after rebooting. Why does this keep happening?

Test after taking each of the following steps. Back up all data before making any changes.

So everytime that I plug in my ipod touch into the computer it is a third generation 8 gb and it always says that it is not authorized but when I authorize it the pop up says that it is not authorized. Another problem that I amhaving is when I had to restore my ipod it erases all the songs that I had purchased recently on my ipod and my photos and videos and all of my apps are deleted as well. I tried that last night, and unfortunately still had the same problem. I have now arranged to return the iPod in exchange for a replacement. Hopefully this was a one off! Thanks anyway.
I'd be interested to hear of any other advice in case it happens again when I receive my replacement!

I uninstalled the camera and it now seems to accept my phone with pictures onto my computer without shutting my computer down. I really appreciate your help with this problem.
