Why do I have to start from scratch every time?!?

Seriously, what the ****?! I am sitting here in the middle of the friggin desert with a crappy connection and I am lucky if I can download a 500 meg file much less a 1G file. So I get lucky and get to 950 megs and my connection craps out and now I have to try to start a 12 hour download from the beginning...AGAIN! This is 3 days now trying to get the same !@$*&(^ file! I've been able to resume a file download with Windows for 10 fuggin years now. How hard is that to implement?

And you got to level 4 how? I am asking why I have to start from the beginning of a file even if I am 99% done with my download. There should be an option to resume where you left off. Why doesn't itunes have that option?

My time Capsule Starts from scratch every time it is interrupted!

First I tried doing the initial backup wirelessly. After 48 hours I had 30 GB of my 54 GB. Then we had a power outage. When the power came back, I clicked on ´backup now`, but it started from scratch. So I interrupted it and set up TC through Ethernet. I had gotten up to 16 GB when I went to bed. The next morning, a message said the connection had been lost. I fiddled with the wires, and then the backup started AGAIN from scratch. I am now in my fourth backup and it is always starting from zero. The thing is, the size of the Time Capsule keeps getting smaller, (only 383 of 461 GB available) evidence of the fact that the backups ARE IN THERE- just time machine does not seem to recognize them.
Help?

Experienced the same issue with an Apple Time Capsule 802.11n (1st Generation, warranty replacement) connected to iMac (Late 2009) running Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8. This Time Capsule was configured solely as the Time Machine backup drive, no Wi-Fi (Wireless Mode: Off). The hard drive would spin up every minute or so for no apparent reason. Tried disconnecting/reconnecting Time Capsule, power off reboot of both Time Capsule and iMac to no avail. Only solution that worked was to downgrade firmware to 7.5.2 using latest Snow Leopard AirPort Utility 5.5.3.
For those that need to know how to do this, run AirPort Utility application in /Application/Utilities folder, click Manual Setup, and click on the word Version in the list, in the dialog box select 7.5.2 from drop-down menu, click OK, and click Update and allow Time Capsule to restart.

I-tunes is downloading my purchase from scratch every time I open it up...

Why is i-tunes downloading my purchase from scratch every time I open it up? This means I can't watch the episode as it freezes after 10 minutes and says it has 12 hours to go until download is complete...
I have also found that the words get out of sync and I have to pause it for it to catch up. This happened on my old computer but I now have a new one and it is still doing it...

See attached image for reference to what button I am referring to. Until i hit the "continue allowing" button I can not type into the form fields. I have tried removing and reinstalling flash. refreshing firefox, and clearing cache and cookies, and deleting the permissions.sqlite file. Nothing has worked. This issue just started happening a few days ago. Please let me know what I might be able to do to fix this.

That full page including the form is a Flash object.
I didn't see this doorhanger opening when I tried the URL in a new profile.
Did you previously created an exception or is the default selected if you check the permissions for the Flash plugin?

What is that then that is Installed in your Flash files? Please clarify as I have never seen that.
Let me ask you, do you have a 64bit system? What you listed in System32/Flash is not making sense to me.
Betas are not for me either, I have enough problems. I worked with someone that had the FP beta AND the IE9 beta!! Talk about a glutton for punishment, LOL Especially considering FP works thru the browser, Ha-Ha No way.........

Why do I have to enable photo stream every time I reboot?

It seems that every time I reboot and then launch Aperture, Aperture asks me if I want to enable photostream. When I hit yes I have to re-download all of the images in my photostream. Has anybody noticed that Aperture always resets this photostream setting periodically If so, is there a known fix?

Well the iCloud compatible version of Aperture was never released to devs so that's why I posted here. originally but it might be worth asking if it turns out tha tonly devs are having this problem.
I'm running the final release version of 10.7.2 but that was upgraded from the beta release, and of course the final iCloud compatible release version of Aperture too.

Why do I have to reload Flashplayer 11 every time I restart Firefox?

I am running Firefox 10.0.2 I have flashplayer11-2_p6_install_win_pi32_022712 dot exe installed and can watch all videos that I encounter. BUT, every time I shut down Firefox, flashplayer is dumped and has to be reloaded the next time I start up! Symptoms are a black screen where the video should be on a web page. I understand that there is a possibility of a conflict with real player. I have tried to remove the real player plug ins but they come back every time I start firefox. I am stumped! Any suggestions gratefully received.

In the Plugins tab I see Shockwave Flash 11.2.202.221. But it does not work. If I wish to use any Flash site including You Tube and many others then, before starting Firefox, I have to install Flash. If I start Firefox and then visit a Flash site I have to shut down Firefox and reload Flash before restarting Firefox. This is true on every occasion after the computer has been shut down.
Notes: I CAN watch a very few you tube videos in Firefox. Internet Explorer also shows a similar fault telling me to load the latest version of Flash Player. Apple Safari allows viewing of most youTube videos. Google Chrome allows viewing of all youTube videos!
Any other thoughts would be gratefully received!

Why do I have to check low latency every time I want to record 1 track

I-Mac, 3.06 GHz Intel core 2 duo. 4GB RAM. Logic 9.1.1 Mac 10.6.4, Apogee Duet.. Theres no need for this in my main studio. Mac Pro, Motu 896. Even with 8 tracks recording.

OK here ya go. 2 different versions of logic and 2 different versions of SL. Every time you close and reopen a project. You have to check low latency again. I guess I just never noticed it in the main studio because I never needed it, Using a Mac Pro, Motu 896, Buffers set @ 512 Medium With multiple fire wire devices, Multiple midi devices, Recording 8 audio tracks at the same time. Never a problem. On the I-Mac With Apogeee duet. 1 Track with no plugins. Buffers @ 128 I need it. Go figure. Thanks for your input everyone. Bill

Why do I have to "choose" the network every time?

My old Linksys Router died recently so I replaced it with a Time Capsule, which has been largely fine.
The only real issue that I have is that I cant find a way to keep my Mac and PC logged in to the network. Every time I open my PowwerBook G4 I have to go to Airport and choose my network. I tried changing the network settings to WPA2 rather than WPA2/WPA2 Professional - no change, still the same result.
On my old Linksys I was able to have no security - by virtue of using Mac address lists and no visible network name. Very effective.
Any thoughts? Can I still use Mac addresses?

Many thanks for the suggestion - but yes, I have already done this. Hence my surprise at needing to log in each time. Interestingly, the same also appears to apply to my wife's PC laptop - ie failure to remain logged in to the network.
Any other thoughts / suggestions?

There is software like Advanced SystemCare with its Surfing Protection feature that can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes.
If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.
It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.json, extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

Guys, I need some help today!
I've been updating our motorcycle club website today, only ever created and edited with iweb and I'm using (as ever) my intel imac.
While finishing editing a new page, I get the spinning wheel of death and iweb crashes and disappears.
Sent the error report.
So, open's up my domain.sites2 file that I keep on a WD320 passport.
And there's nothing. Not even a blank page, there's really nothing.
I've checked the file and it's 760mb large, and I can look at the package contents.
I can't open the file and I've used the disk utility and everything checks out green.
I've rebooted, and disconnected the drive.
But when I try and open the file, it doesn't even open the web page editor.
Would anyone have any clue where to start or how to help?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Try the following:
Try the following:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - go to your User/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete the contents.
3 - reboot.
4 - double click on the domain file to open it with iWeb and see if its contents load.
If that doesn't help continue:
5 - delete the iWeb preference file again.
6 - launch iWeb, create a new test site and save.
7 - go to the your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and delete the new domain file.
8 - double click on the domain file on the external HD to open it.
See if that helps.
