Why do I keep getting a notice to install Flash Player.  I have done it 3 times now.

Why do I keep getting notifications to install Flash Player.  I have installed it 3 times now.

You are getting notifications to install Flash Player due to the fact that it is out of date. Unfortunately, Adobe has discontinued Flash Player since version 10.1 for PowerPC Macs. However that will not stop you from taking advantage of Flash on Facebook and other sites like YouTube.
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3599648
Follow that link down to the post by Texas Mac Man. Download the attached file and follow the instructions. You will then be able to use Facebook and YouTube fully. It is still Flash 10.1 but it will show to your Mac as 11.
I hope this will be able to help you.

  • Have downloaded firefox..keeps telling me to update my flash...have done so several times.still doesn't work!!!what's wrong???????????

    have no new question!!

    Your '''Installed Plug-ins'' list in '''''More system details...''''' to the right of your posting doesn't show Flash is installed for Firefox. <br />
    Do you have that plugin enabled or disabled?<br />
    Look in Tools > Addons > Plugins to see.
    Or did you download it and not actually install it?

  • I cannot run itunes, I keep getting this error message" Quick Time failed to initialized (error02096) Quick time is required to run please unistall itunes then install itunes again, I have done this three time and I keep getting the same error message.

    On my PC, I cannot run itunes, I keep getting this error message" Quick Time failed to initialized (error02096) Quick time is required to run please unistall itunes then install itunes again, I have done this three times and I keep getting the same error message. I have had itunes for years, but up until 2 months ago the quick time will not initialize to run it.

    Try using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and delete the iTunes installer. Then try installing iTunes again

  • I keep getting the message that my flash player needs up dating.

    I have downed the latest version 12 but still keep getting the message. I uninstalled all copies of the flash player and restalled version 12 from the website but sill got the same message. I went to the website and used the troubleshooting for windows but to no avail. Help!!!!

    Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by right clicking the following links and selecting "Save target as" (IE) or "Save Link as"(Firefox).
    Flash Player Uninstaller
    Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
    Save the files to your Downloads folder - DO NOT run anything yet.
    Reboot your system.
    BEFORE opening anything, go to the Downloads folder and run the UNINSTALLER to remove Flash Player.
    Go to: C/Winows/System32/Macromed and delete the Flash folder there.
    Next, run the ActiveX installer.
    Lastly, see:Enabling Flash Player in Internet Explorer  and: ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer  to make 100% sure that Flash Player is enabled and NOT being blocked by ActiveX controls.

  • I keep getting an error message, the flash player won't install, help?

    I'am using internet explorer 8 and I followed all the trouble shooting steps in the support center but i keep getting this message:
    "Error opening for file writing: C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash10d.ocx".
    The Pop up that allows it to download the file isn't coming up, but when i tried to download the Adobe air and it came up. I checked all the security settings in the Internet options and followed it but still the same. What could this mean? Thank you.

    Try the following:
    download the Flash Player uninstaller from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html (save to disk);
    download the offline ActiveX installer http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe (save to disk);
    close all browser windows, then run the downloaded uninstaller;
    open Windows Explorer, then check that %WINDIR%\system32\Macromed\Flash is empty (or non-existant);
    now run the downloaded installer

  • Keep trying to download and install flash player

    My flash player quit working, so I upgraded it.  A few days ago, it just dies.  I can't find it anywhere on my computer.  So I tried to download and install the newest flash player.  It initializes and begins installing.  Then stops and asks me to turn off Internet explorer, which I do and click RETRY.  I then get and ERROR:  Application is currently in use.
    What is going on?  If i tell it to install Chrome, it stops that and says it is already installed.  I can't find this program either.  It was obviously installed when I last updated flash player.  So why can I not play any videos now?

    Try to download and run the appropriate offline installer from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#ins tall_in_a_firewall_proxy_server_environment

  • I keep getting a notice to install Java now that I have OS X Yosemite.  How do I get rid of it?

    I installed OS X Yosemite a couple of weeks ago.  I continually get a pop-up message to install Java.  Also my Mac seems to be performing a little slower than usual.  What can I do?

    Most likely, you have the Facebook video calling plugin, which depends on the Java runtime distributed by Apple. If you no longer need the plugin, remove it. Otherwise, install Java.

  • I keep getting a DEP shutdown of Flash Player

    I am running Windows Vista 32 bit, Firefox 2.0.1 and Flash Player 11.7.700.164. All are the latest versions to the best of my knowledge. Sometimes re-loading the page puts me thru, sometimes not. Do you know what the problem may be? Is ther a solution?

    Try installing the latest Flash Player version 11.7.700.169, or wait until "Update Tuesday" when a new version is likely to be released.

  • Why do I get daily notices to install the same update?

    Why do I keep getting daily notices to install the same update?

    Possibly because you have set firefox to ask you what to do when an update is available. Your sytem information suggests you are using firefox4.0 and the current main release is now firefox 4.0.1
    Go to about firefox and use the manual update option, it should then update. If you continue to have problems
    # please confirm which version you do have installed
    # copy any error messages you see, explaining when these occur, and what seems to generate them

  • I keep getting this notice: "your machine has run out of application memory". Why am I getting this message?

    Why do I keep getting the notice "your machine has run out of application memory"?
    I have a 15" Macbook Pro Retina Display with a 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7; 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3. OS X version 10.9.2.
    I get this warning when I have a lot of programs running. I never had this issue before.

    Well Carolyn
    I feel your answer is a bit glib, since there are numerous post about this problem with Maverick.  I too am having the problem and run very minor applications
    Word, Powerpoint, Safari, AudioNotes.  Nothing which uses a ton of memory, and have gotten this message repeatedly lately.
    I have a Macbook Pro Retina with 2.6 GHz inter i7, and 16GB 1600 MHz DDR3 memory running OS X 10.9.2.
    I am not a techie and would love a simple fix, which doesn't entail me shutting down my computer when it gets stupid.  As above I have not had this problem before either.

  • When I try to update from Acrobat 2.1.0.0 to 2.3.0.0, why do I keep getting error # 16820 ?

    When I try to update Acrobat 2.1.0.0 to 2.3.0.0 , why do I keep getting download failure, error #16820 ?

    If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
    Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
    * Firefox 5.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
    * Install the new version that you have downloaded
    Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.
