Why do I keep getting a storage full message after deleting most of my photo app, on 16gb iPhone6

Hey,
I just purchased the new iPhone 6 16GB.upgrade jump T-mobile not paid in full $700.Nevertheless, why do I keeping getting a message about storage full? And it says...Go to setting and manage storage with iCloud. I have deleted most of the app, photo, and just about everything else, and still keep getting this message. It's almost as if I will be paying additional 3.99-19.99 a month to manage the icloud for apps that I already had. Perhaps this is the gimmicks to order the 64GB iPhone 6. In fact, the 64GB is offered as an upgrade to new or additional line customers. Come On give us a break for the loyal customers Geezh!!
Plus can't even upgrade software update to iOS8.1.1 because there is not enough storage. What sense does that make to even upgrade to the new iPhone 6???? Hurry up and fix this problem!

Purchasing iCloud storage will not help your issue. Also, if you want to upgrade, do it via iTunes rather than OTA - it doesn't require as much available storage to do it that way.
To check to see what is taking up so much of your storage, go to Settings>General>Usage>Manage Storage, and you will see a list of the items on your device and the amount of storage they are taking up.
T-mobile's offer of the 64GB iPhone 6 to new or additional line customers has nothing to do with Apple. You need to take that up with T-mobile.
Cheers,
GB

If you are referring to a 16GB phone, then you do not have 16GB available. The device only has about 12.75GB available after iOS. You can see how much space you have available by going to Settings>General>About, or you can connect the device to the computer and iTunes and look at the report there.

You may have to shut your computer off and pull the power adapter from both your ISP's Modem and your Router and wait 5 minutes and restart them in the following order.
1st your ISP's Modem and wait a minute to get your signal and lights.
2nd do the same with your Router and again you have to wait the minute.
Last restart your computer and boot in OSX use Safari.

Why do I keep getting "blocked plug-in" message? I can't see video clips and this started about a month ago.

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 4.
    1. If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then from the menu bar select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
    2. Triple-click the line below to select it:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
    Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu. A folder should open. If there is more than one item in the folder with the words "Flash Player" (not "flashplayer") in the name, open the respective Info windows, check the version numbers, and delete all except the latest. You may be prompted for your login password.
    3. Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from this page:
Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player
Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    4. If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked Enable plug-ins.
    5. Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
    6. In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    Close the window. Then select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.

  • I keep getting "startup disk full" message even when I already moved all my files/documents to an external hard disk

    Dear all,
What should I do? I keep getting the "startup disk full" message even when I already moved all my files and documents to an external hard disk.
    Thanks a heap.

For information about the Other category in the Storage display, see this support article.
Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
    iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature. Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of your data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
If you're using Time Machine to back up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of files you've recently deleted. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself.
See this support article for some simple ways to free up storage space.
You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Deleting files inside an iPhoto or Aperture library will corrupt the library. Any changes to a photo library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
    Back up all data now.
If you have more than one user account, make sure you're logged in as an administrator. The administrator account is the one that was created automatically when you first set up the computer.
Install ODS in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders, sorted by size with the largest at the top. It may take a few minutes for ODS to finish scanning your files.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with ODS, quit it and also quit Terminal.

  • Keep getting startup disk full messages but I have plenty of HD space

    Hi all,
I've been experiencing a odd problem on my 18 month old 13" MacBook Pro. As of last week, I keep getting the dreaded "Your startup disk is almost full" and "Your startup disk is full" messages, yet I have over 7GB of hard drive space available (in addition to 8GB of installed ram) seemingly at random times. I noticed this message come up immediately after a restart this morning, as well as when I woke from display sleep earlier today, but most of the day the messages pop up (sometimes it's "almost full", sometimes it's "full") every 30-60 mins or so. I then immediately check my available space and it reads a solid 7GBs.
Any idea what's going on, or how I can fix this? I'd like to fully understand why this is happening so I can prevent it from coming up in the future.
    Thanks!
Addendum: Ok, did a few restarts and it's confirmed: I get the "Your startup disk is full" message when my login screen appers, every time. Help!

    1. Since when have Mac users needed to adhere to the "10% rule"?
Since hard disk's where built into computers regardless of Mac or others.
10% is just a arbitrary value in a configuration file: Warn at x% - for at least three reasons:
If a disk run full the system is not longer able to extend logfiles, configuration files, the Mac's equivalent for /proc or the swap space.
This will cause the system to freeze and/or prevent the next boot.
On shutdown the system could not write out the data buffered in memory to the disk.
Thereby data may be lost or the filesystem corrupted as a result.
Imagine your 7GB free and the system tríes on shutdown to write back 9GB RAM buffer ...**Do'h**
For user safety. Imagine you have only 5GB free and you load a 7.5GB RAW image file into a application. **Do'h**

    4. Lupunus, you mention that "available space" is different than "true space". Can you elaborate?
The displayed "Available Space" did not include the cached/buffered files, as to display that value the "sync" command get not invoked.
The kernel keeps data in memory to avoid doing (relatively slow) diskreads and writes.
sync writes any data buffered in memory out to disk.

  • Why Do I keep getting random old text messages?

At least once a week, I get notification of a new text message, but it is an old text message I sent.  The last message in the string is one I sent.  There is no reply from the recipient.  Why Why Why?

Sounds like a carrier setting, not a device problem. You should try calling ATT (your carrier) and have them reset the text messaging on your account.

  • Why do i keep getting a cannot find message when I import photos/videos from phone?

It seems like iphoto won't copy pics/vids from my phone. Do i have to save them in a folder for it to save????

Before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Basic stuff: What version of iPhoto. What version of the Operating System. Details. What were you doing when the problem arose? Did it ever work properly? Step-by-step descriptions of how you got to this issue. If something doesn't work, are there error messages? What are the error message? What happens when you try to do this thing? And what steps have you tried already to solve the issue. With this kind of information somebody can develop a starting point for troubleshooting the issue.
Posts that consist of "iPhoto doesn't work. Help" or "iPhoto won't print" or "Suddenly I have no photos!!!!!!!!!!" mean that a helper is simply guessing. With information, s/he may be able to get your issue resolved sooner.
