Why do i keep getting 'out of date' warnings for Flash Player?

Yesterday I got a message on my Mac that my Flash Player was out of date, so I installed a new version, 12. Today I got the same warning, saying my version was old and was blocked, so I reinstalled it. Same thing keeps happening. I went to the Security settings in Preferences and it says this: "The version of 'Adobe Flash Player' on your computer has known critical security issues. Only websites set to 'Allow Always' are allowed to run this plug-in. To protect your system, use of this plug-in is now blocked for all other websites."
Can someone tell me what's going on with this? Thanks.

  • Why do I keep getting 'Action ScriptError' messages from Adobe Flash Player?

Whenever I play games on Facebook, mostly from the Zynga stable, a message pops up like this:
Each time, the message shows a different error code (I think). Does anyone know why this should happen, and is there any way I can stop them without
getting rid of Adobe Flash Player? ( apparently, the games won't play without it) and is it something I can just ignore altogether?

Open System Preferences then select Flash Player under Other.
    Select the Advanced tab.
Under Browsing Data and Settings click Delete All
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

  • Why do I keep getting a message that says "Isufficient Flash Player Resources"?

I've tried all of the solutions outlined on the help blogs but nothing seems to work. I've removed and reloaded Flash Player, upgraded to IE10, tried 32 bit and 64 bit versions but I still get the above message when I try to watch an ESPN video. Can anyone offer a solution?

Would you mind posting a screenshot of the error you are getting?
How do I capture and post a screenshot or video?
Besides IE10, have you tried any other browsers (firefox or chrome) to see if they exhibit the same behavior?  What version of Flash Player do you have installed  (Flash Player Version)?  Can you verify that you have the latest video drivers installed?

  • Why do i keep getting a pop up menu for automatic downloads? I turned it off in the preferences, but it keeps popping up, asking me for my password.

Why do I keep getting a pop up menu asking me for my password in itunes to enable automatic downloads? I turned it off in the itunes preferences several times.  iTunes still gives me a pop up message asking for my password.  Please help.

Automatic downloads is for when you download something on your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad and automatic downloads will download these on your Mac or pc, eliminating the need for syncing. But I have limited bandwidth at home so I do not want this feature. Mine actually stopped bugging me for now, I cruised around the whole community looking for an answer and different things seems to be working for different people. It just seems to be a bug that will hopefully be fixed in an update. For me, I put in my password, even though I didn't want it, made sure it's not set to allow automatic downloads and tested it and it worked. It hasnt bugged me since, but it may come back over time.

  • My husband and I use one PC with two seperate accounts, why does he keep getting a update failure notice for Mozilla but I don't ?

We share one PC running Windows XP. When he opens his account he keeps getting first in the lower right hand corner that the updater is safe then a message box comes up that says " Update Failed make sure another version is not running and restart" When I Open my account no such message appears-why? Thanks-

Who has Admin rights on that PC?
If you don't have Admin rights you probably don't have "rights" to update Firefox, thus don't receive the "update message".
Try opening Help > About Firefox and see if you get a message about the update. And while you're in that window see if it says Firefox 27.0.1 or just Firefox 27.0 .
As far as the "Update Failed make sure another version is not running and restart" message, if your User Account was running in the background and you had Firefox open, that could cause Firefox not to proceed with the update in your husband's Logon User Account. Firefox needs all Firefox user Profiles to be closed as part of the update process. The user Profile that is initiating the update will close automatically, but the process will hang if any other Firefox Profiles are running in the background. ''I have that happen frequently when I am switching between 2 Logon User Accounts in WinXP.''

  • With the latest Firefox, I keep getting error messages on Tumblr, and Flash Player crashes almost every time I watch a video on Tumblr.

This has been driving me mad for days now. I updated to the latest version of Firefox, but every single time I go to any webpage on Tumblr, (my dashboard, my personal blog, anyone else's blog) I am bombarded by error messages saying "too much recursion." I usually get anywhere from 3 to 5 messages per page. I reverted to Firefox 34 and can now access Tumblr just fine, but then I am faced with a different problem. When watching videos or vines on Tumblr, they can spontaneously lag, jitter, or stop playing. If I try to resume playing them, then they might start playing but all audio will be cut out. This seems to cause some kind of problem with Flash Player, because after it happens on Tumblr, then it will happen on ANY video playing site I visit. If I try to watch a video on Youtube, the video will spasm for a couple seconds and then go to static and say "An error has occurred, please try again later." I've tested it out on other video sites like Blip, and they also cause audio and video bugs. Even if I close Firefox and restart it, the issue will not be solved. The only way I have found to fixing the crashes is to manually reinstall Flash Player (which requires me to reset Firefox anyway). This has been a tremendous annoyance, as I have had to reinstall Flash Player and reset Firefox about five times on any given day for the past week or so. This is driving me to consider dumping Firefox for Chrome, and I don't want to do that.

Okay, I updated my graphics card drivers just for good measure. I also started Firefox in Safe Mode, and there weren't any bugs. So I isolated the problem by turning on my extensions one by one, and it turns out that something with my XKit extension was the cause. I manually removed XKit and reinstalled it directly from the XKit website. Now everything's working fine again when I use Firefox 35. Thank you!

  • Keep getting redirected to a fake Adobe Flash Player site?

Every single time I open a link or even a new tab, I keep getting redirected to this page that tells me to update my Adobe Flash Player. It is a fake page. I accidentally downloaded it, not realizing what it was at first, and it put a bunch of crap on my computer, that I ended up having to do a system restore in order to get rid of everything.
What do I need to do, what can I do in order to keep this from happening? It's incredibly annoying. It doesn't appear to be an extension or anything of that sort. A redirect virus, maybe. But I don't know what to do to get rid of it.

Three posts and the unrelated fbi link, really Fred.

  • Keep getting "General Install Error" when installing Flash Player 13 on Mac OSX 10.9.3

For about 2 weeks now I've been getting software update notifications for Adobe Flash, Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat X. Every time I run the update install I get an error that will not allow it finish. For Flash specifically that error says "General Install Error". I've uninstalled all of these programs to try to correct this error, now they are unable to be reinstalled due to this error. Please help!

    Hi Sanhodo4,
To confirm, did you actually terminate the Safari process, or simply close the Safari windows? If you closed just the browser window, the Safari process was not terminated.  Please refer to How do I quit Safari (or another browser/app) in OS X.

  • Keep getting message from sites that Adobe Flash Player needs to be installed

I have a MacBook, OSX 10.7.5.  When I try to download a document, I am told that I need Adobe Flash Player and that I should download it.
When I look on the Adobe website, to check something, I see that the newest version of Flash Player is installed on my computer.  As a second choice, I was given, I could download Adobe Air, but that didn't work either.
I have no idea what I need to do to be able to get this information downloaded.
I'm not sure if this is the correct community of whom to ask this question.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Keep getting message 'you need to install flash player to play this content'

but flash is up to date (shockwave flash 16.0.0.305) and set to always activate. it is a plug in and i have uninstalled flash and reinstalled it.
there is an earlier shockwave plug in (9.0.45.0 from 2007) with a red vulnerability warning next to it. ive tried to remove that but cant. however, that has been there with the warning message for years and this problem only started this week, seemingly at random

Your System Details list shows an old Flash 9.0 r45.

You can check the Flash player installation folder for multiple Flash player plugins and remove older version(s) of the plugin (NPSWF32) and possibly (re)install the latest Flash player.

  • Why is Acrobat X Pro (CS6, Windows 7) asking for Flash Player when trying to play a video?

I created an interactive PDF from InDesign that includes f4v and mp4 videos.  When I click on them to activate I get this message: "To view the Flash® technology content in this PDF file, please install the required version of Flash Player."  I checked the version of Flash player on both of my computers and they both have the latest.  And, they both worked when tested.
So, what the heck's going on here?

Well, it sounds like Flash Player is installed and running, though I think you might have transposed a couple numbers (it should be 10,3,183,7).  Are you having problems with any other FB games?  Have you posted on the game's forums to see if any other user has encountered issues recently?

  • Why do i keep getting 'to use data on your phone, you'l need add on pack' texts?

I ordered a pay as you go sim card from EE a few weeks ago to use in my iphone 5 as a second/work phone. The package on the sim is a 'top up £1 and get some free mins and texts (no data allowance)' plan. I put the sim card in my phone and have left the phone at home and not put any credit on it yet or used it at all, ( not even any apps/calls etc ). Every day when i come to look at the phone there are atleast 4 text messages a day from EE saying 'To use data on your phone, you'll need an add-on pack Click here to buy'. I am getting sick of this as i have turned mobile data off in the settings and my phone is constantly connected to my home wi-fi so cannot see how it would even by using any data. Today i have come home to 8 of these messages! I refuse to top my phone up with credit and start using it until this is sorted as im not paying for any data usage i wont use! There are no apps running in the background, and nothing has been set up on the phone that would require internet usage i.e. emails / weather etc. Please can someone help me...  Thanks

Hi,  I also recieved thousands of messages saying that I need to buy add-on, that's anoying.  I called EE for 3 hours and they are not able to deal with that. They just try to make my mobile phone responsible. What can I do?  Thank you.
