I completely understand what is happening. I know that you are connected to the Internet. I made the suggestion because I have seen it work in similar circumstances. The Apple iTunes servers can be a bit fussy about things and sometimes rebooting the router clears up this miscommunication between iTunes and your network.
Have you tried signing into your account and then try to sync again. Go to Store>View Account. You will have to enter your password. Then try to sync again. Or try signing out completely in Store>Sign out. Quit iTunes, sign in again and then try to sync again.
Sometimes refreshing settings will help clear up weird problems. -

Why am I getting this error message every time I open iTunes? I'm giving the option of Sync or don't Sync and click sync and there are no problems. just installed PS 13 elements and loaded pictures into organizer. after using PS editor now organizer is not reloading. I keep getting error message saying organizer unexpectedly quit, do you want to reopen. When I click on it to reopen it doesn't and I get the same message again. I rebooted computer, still did it, I uninstalled and reinstalled the program and I am still getting the same error message. This is on Mac OS with yosemite. Any Ideas Please!!!

I keep getting this message every time I log in. Why? I have an iMac with sharing on for my networked printer and to share file between the iMac and my MacBook. Can anyone help?
This is an annoying but not disastrous thing. Your computer sends messages on your home network and each message includes its name. If your computer is restarted or if it goes to sleep and wakes up all those messages should now gone but sometimes when the computer reconnects to the network it picks up a message with its name in it. Your computer doesn't realize its an old message from itself, it thinks the message is from a computer with the same name and that's not permitted so your computer's name is automatically changed.
Temporary solution (or not): turn everything off - your computers, printers, internet modem and router; any and all devices that are connected to your network. Then restart them. I hear about this issue all the time and this solution has been temporary for some people (days, weeks, or months) and for others it has seemingly solved it totally. -

You can try to delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

The problem may be at Apple's end due to the large number of people trying to update at the same time. I suggest you keep trying. Perhaps it will be easier during early morning hours U.S. time, before 10 AM GMT.

For about the last two to three months, every time I wake up my iMac from sleeping, I always get the message "The disk was not ejected properly."
There is no disk in my iMac!
This is no big problem to me, as all I do is hit the "enter" key, and it disappears until the next time I wake it from a sleep.

Why Do I Keep Getting This Message???
All of a sudden and without me changing any preferences, I have started to get a message that tells me to go online to read the email even though the account is online. This is what the message looks like:
