Why do I loose after copy paste the live paint areas?

Hello.
can anybody help me?
If I copy paste something I loose the live paint area.
I´m using the adobe illustrator CC. With CS5 I didn´t have this problem.

I have an object.
I filled the object with the different colors with live paint function. (Select path, live paint, make)
I select this object, copy it and paste it in another file.
I loose colors in the object.
I hope my explanation is not too complicated.

Hello. I have just installed Oracle Linux 5 as Guest OS on the top of VMPlayer. Host OS is Windows 7.
I downloaded Oracle E-Business Suite R12 from edelivery into Windows 7 in a folder(EBS_R12) on my LapTop screen.
In order to install EBS R12 into Oracle Linux 5, I copy/paste the folder EBS_R12 into Oracle Linux 5 screen. The file size is about 50GB. After coply/paste is completed successfully, I cannot find where is the folder (EBS_R12) in the Guest OS Oracle Linux 5.
Can any folks tell me where is the folder (EBS_R12) in Oracle Linux 5 after copy/paste from Windows 7 ?

If yes then you can do the following
#find / -name EBS_R12 -type d -print
(Assuming you copied the folder "EBS_R12" , But not its contents).

OIM custom web page developed shows up on copy pasting the URL in browser

Hi experts,
I am facing this weird issue. I have developed a custom web page to generate password after adding custom menu item in OIM.
The web page shows up on copy pasting the URL in browser. Only System admins after loggin in should get this menu item and page after clicking on it.
http://xxxx:7778/xlWebApp/generatePassword.do
But any1 can access this page currently. I have changed the action class to check for valid session,so clicking reset doesnt trigger the code.
So atleast the functionality is protected.
But the page still shows up on copy pasting the URL. How do i prevent this from happening ??
Any suggestions and pointers would be appreciated.

Why does FCP looses its source file reference when files are copied

Why does FCP looses its source file reference when files are copied from another project??
i have this happen all the time, I move all my media to another drive and files that originated in another project do not reconnect because they have lost there source?
Any way to fix this mess? i am in the middle of reconnecting 400 files by hand one at a time!!!

Because you changed the file path. From one hard drive to another...the hard drive name is no doubt different, and then if you have the files in different folder structures then yeah, it will lose the connection to that media.
Best thing to do is to clone your media drive, or name the other drive the same name, and keep the exact same file structure (folders in folders) as the original drive. Then you won't need to reconnect.

XML Updating not possible after Copy Paste

Hi all
I have a problem with updating large financial tables. The tables are generated from Excel into XML, then placed via JavaScript on ID pages. I can get up to 10 tables some containing 100 rows by 8 cols data.
All formating is done by the combination of Tags, Styles and Scripts.
Should the people that generate the financial tables in the first place update the Excel file, we re run the process and the layout tables in ID update no problem.
Now come the layout artists and copy paste the table they need onto the layout where additional background stories and images combine into the final layout.
The XML tree of the data they copy also copies into the layoutfile. All good so far.
Now an update via Excel arrives and I need to update the final layout file.
But the link is no longer in the Links palette. As soon as I do the copy paste it is gone.
How do I update the relevant subset of XML on the final layout file, from the complete XML dataset given to me.
Any ideas where I went wrong?

I do not think is possible to copy links between documents.
I think the only way to create a link is to Import XML and Create Link.
Therefore, you should try to adopt a workflow that does not result in copy and pasting the XML to a new document:
Several choices present themselves:
1. Adjust your script to import the XML into the final layout file directly.
2. After you have copy-and-pasted the XML, open the structure pane, select the XML root, and re-import the XML file by hand, creating a link.
3. Cut and paste the final layout into the layout with the link.
4. Pages (panel) > Move Pages the pages from the final layout into the layout with the linked XML content, and then move the linked XML around in that layout onto the pages where it matters

This is much better way than changing the media folder location.
Keep everything in the same iTunes folder.
However, when I do it this simple way as compared to the Apple way it doesn't save my play counts or ratings.
Since it is exactly the same library, everything should be the same.
Then just go to external drive click on iTunes folder and then in iTunes add folder to library and all your songs load up. This isn't moving the library but just backing it up.
You don't need to add anything.
Hold Option and launch iTunes.
Select Choose library... and select the iTunes folder you copied to the external.
You can delete then /Music/iTunes/ folder as this same folder was copied to the external and this is now your iTunes library.
You can also do this top make a backup of the iTunes library (thoug you should be making a backup (Time Machine or some other backup program) of yoru entire computer.

You have more flexibility for that part if you use AIR than if you use Flash Player. With Flash Player, it will be only text based information, with AIR, it can be a binary format like a bitmap

Hello. It looks like I recovered all my keywords attached to photos. What I did:
First I located all photos without keywords using a metadata search.
I found that it seemed to be certain groups of photos that had no keywords. I decided to at least get the main keyword on all of those in a particular group, like Canyonlands.
Once I added one of the keywords, the others all showed up magically! I then went to each group of photos and added the main keyword, and the others came along and attached to the photos.
Don't understand why this occurred or why it got fixed, since it was so random. But, I'm glad to have my keywords restored (I had divided flowers by color, etc. so it was a lot of work!)

I'm new to Illustrator and I am trying to use the live paint tool.

I have an image that I have outlined into different sections with the pen tool and now when I try to select the outlines and go into live paint> make, it prompts me with an error message saying "Selection contains objects that cannot be converted. Live paint groups can only contain paths and compounds paths. Clipping paths are not allowed." Is there a way to convert this so that I can fill in the selected areas with the live paint tool, or am I totally out of luck? -Not sure if this matters but I have a photo underneath the pen tool's outlines because I'm trying to edit it into more of a 2D geometric print which is why I need to live paint tool to help me fill in the shapes.

Put the image on a new layer below the artwork and lock the layer so the image cannot be selected. Did you use a mask of some sort? put that on the lower layer as well.

How do you connect lines for a drawing in order to use the live paint bucket tool?

Hello! Im fairly new (okay not really) to using adobe illustrator
I used the Image trace tool to outline this drawing of Captain America but unfortunately the lines arent connected and therefore
messes up my colouring completely when I use the Live Paint Bucket tool.
Is there a way to connect the lines so they are closed when I colour it? Or is there another way to color this drawing?

Those gaps are very wide. Draw some paths and apply no fill, no stroke to them.
Then make the live paint. In case the live paint already exists, you can go into isolation mode and then draw the paths. Or draw them and use Object > Live paint > Merge

After copy, paste is not enabled in edit menu selection. Started all of a sudden.

I've been moving many files that somehow were inadvertantly moved to the wrong folder. I copied quite a few, then one day after I copied a file, (and later verified it was on the clipboard), when I selected the location to copy to, the right click or edit menu options either did not have the paste option, or it was not enabled (faded). What could cause this feature to go away? I wish I could CUT and paste instead. If I try to slide a file to a new location, it becomes an alias and I can't delete the original file. I verified the disk and repaired disk permissions. Any other suggestions?
