Why do I need Photoshop Album Starter?

I already have Photoshop 7.
Is there anything in Album Starter 3 of significant importance that I don't already have in "7"?
I'm running Windows XP Home edition, with a 1.3 chip and 384 Mb of RAM.

may i ask a question about the adobe starter editions? yesterday my starter edition upgraded from version 2, to version 3. a new icon was created on my desktop for 3, but the older icon remains. when i try to access the older version my windows xp searches but cannot find any program. i assume version 3 has pre-empted the older version.
by the way, version 2 is no longer in my add/remove list either.
so, my question is this. can i do a file search for any and all things adobe photoshop starter edition v. 2, and delete or uninstall everything that comes up without goofing up my working version? the updated version?
it may be that the only thing remaining is that shortcut icon to version 2, but i havent done the search yet.
the same thing applies to my adobe reader. i have updated continuously from version 4, (that came with the computer) and am now running version 7+. i still have icons for the older versions, and the older versions are in my add/remove programs as well. if im only going to use the newest version, is it safe to uninstall or delete or remove all older versions? (that would be versions 4, 5, and 6.) thanks for your help.

I just find fixed issues where there is not shown my problem and I cannot find the way to write my question about my need of a code for Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2. Could you or somebody tell me the way to get the code through adobe.

Need help regarding Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0

Thanks in advance for helping me.
When I got a new camera about 4 years ago, it came with this software. I loaded it up, but never used it. I normally just create a new folder on my desktop and click and drag the shots from the computer to the desktop. I do this by just opening up my computer, find the external drive and then click and drag.
Here is the problem though. My wife decided to download photos from my daughters b-day party. When she plugged in the card reader, this photo album starter automatically opened and started to drag the photos into the program.
Although this shouldn't be a problem it is a large issue. Since I never used the product, I never registered for it either. So when I just tried to register for it, it told me the program is no longer able to be registered for. And when I hit the register later button, it shuts down the program. Therefore, it will not allow me to grab the photos and save them to a file on my desktop.
Can anyone tell me a way around this, please?

I am sorry but we no longer have older software available for download. I am not sure Photoshop Album Starter Edition would even function in Windows 7.
I would recommend trying Photoshop Elements 10 on your new computer. It has all the features of Photoshop Album Starter Editon plus many more. On top of that it has been designed to work with Windows 7. You can find more details at http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-elements.html.

How do I get around the registration page that pops up when I go to the photoshop. The page will not let me by to try any thing.

Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition vs. Picasa?

Hi everyone..
I have just installed Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 and I'm wondering about a few things. Bear with me here...
1. I use Piccasa strictly as a picture-viewer program. I'm not 100% happy with it, could anybody pursuade me and my curious friend, why I should switch to Album Starter? I would like that.
2. What I DO like about Piccasa is that it just view my pictures and do not copy them into a special piccasa-format. I have several file-formats in my picture-folder and I would like Album Starter to view all of them without changing the original location of the file, nor copy it, taking up a lot of disk-space.
3. Another thing I like about Picasa is that if I have changed, added or removed a picture in the original file-location it updates those changes when I launch the program.
4. I understand that there are several ways to view your photos. But can you also view and navigate your pictures through folders while you are in Album Starter? Because thats one thing I hate about Picasa, it just place all my folders on the side of the page, meaning it takes them out of their original folder and destroys the dept-folder-system I have made.
5. Does Album Starter have a nice search function?
If anyone could take the time to answer these very bad formulated questions, I would be very grateful.

1) PSA SE has better organizing tools [tags/collections] than Picassa. There is also a clear growth path if you want something more powerful [Photoshop Elements Organizer is compatible].
2) With PSA SE you keep your image files anywhere you want.
3) PSA SE has limitations in this area. You are encouraged to move files about from within the program.
4) I'm not sure that you'd prefer PSA SE in this respect. You are really encouraged not to think in terms of folders, as that is not a way to organize a large collection of images [say much more than 100].
5) It has various ways to search - what are you after? Using tagging intelligently means you very rarely need to search. [I have use this technology for 3 years and only used Search a handful of time.]

Storing Notes with Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3

I am new to Photoshop Album Starter Edition and was working with it yesterday to catalog some old family photos that I had scanned. When I was cataloging the photos, I added a caption and notes for each photo under the properties tab. When I burned the photo files to a CD and loaded the CD to another computer using Photoshop Starter Edition 3, I able to see the caption under properties but there was nothing in the Notes field. I'd like to use the notes field to store comments about the photo and then be able to burn the CD to share with other family members. Is there a way to burn the photos to a CD and be able to see the Notes information?

Using PSA 3.0 does this also mean that if I move an image to a new directory it loses the notes information and similarly should I rename the file will it will also lose the notes detail but not the caption. I understand why this is, if it is so - ah but here comes the question, "Is there any way to print out the notes detail by images etc to a file or to the printer should the need arise to reuse the information. Say I scan images to a laptop and record "notes information" using PSA 3.0 - how do I get that "notes" information to my desktop should I transfer the photos & use PSA 3.0 there - any help or advice would be most appreciated - are there other Adobe products that address this

Can't open a PDF file with acrobat photoshop album starter 3.0

scanned pictures and saved them as a PDF file in another computer. I think the version was 6 (but not sure). I downloaded acrobat reader (version + acrobat Photoshop to my computer.
now I'm trying to open the files in order to make some changes in the photos (cut them and so on), but I cant open them. can open them with the acrobat reader. but not with adobe Photoshop album started 3.0. I am getting a massage saying "the PDF file foes not contain any photos" and it shows the location of the file. the file definitely contains photos. what do I need to do?

Is it Photoshop Starter Edition that is giving your the No Photos message or is it Reader?
If the PDF has photos in it, and you open it with Reader, you should see a toolbar called Picture Tasks. Picture Tasks will let you extract the photos.

Adobe photoshop album starter edition 3.0 shutting down when importing from iphone 4

adobe photoshop album starter edition 3.0 keeps shutting down when I try to import photos from my iphone 4 - it works fine with my wife's iphone 3! Any suggestions?

Adobe Photoshop Album Starter 3.2 gives error when plugging in iPhone 3G

So, I plug my iPhone iunto my laptop... iTunes opens... Adobe Photoshop Album Starter 3.2 starts up to backup/transfer photos... and then I get:

I have a similar problem with my new iphone 4, but I never had the problem with my previous iphone 3g.
Your post seems promising. However, you say ''right click on the APD icon in the system tray (it must be resembling a small camera) and select disable''. Unfortunatlely I don't know where to find '' the system tray''. Control Panel has a system folder but I can't find any access to an icon resembling a camera. Also, I am used to using Adobe Photoshop downloader. Since it worked with my previous iphone, can't it be made to work with the iphone 4?

How do I retrieve Photos from Photoshop Album Starter Trial Edition 3.0 after the trial period has expired? I purchased Photoshop Elements 9 hoping I could use that to retrieve from Edition 3.0. No Luck!

The photos have never been stored in Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3. They are always stored on your hard disk somewhere, probably right where you put them when they came out of the camera. You need to search for them.

How to go from Photoshop Album Starter Edition to Photoshop Elements?

I have both Photoshop Album Starter Edition and Photoshop Elements on my computer. I didn't even know I had the PSA SE--I just assumed it was part of Photoshop Elements when it automatically opened after I stuck my photo disk in. So I started playing around with it and cataloged my new photos. Then I started Photoshop Elements, and none of the cataloging or tags that I had just entered in PSA SE were there. Is there any way to transfer the information from PSA SE to Photoshop Elements without having to retype everything?

You need to locate the PSA SE catalog file. It is called My Catalog.PSA and is Docs&Settings somewhere [in a hidden folder]. Once you have located it, in PSE organizer do File/Catalog/Open and navigate to the file you just located. It will be converted and everything should work OK.

Cannot unlock my Photoshop album Starter 3.0

I have been attempting to unlock my Adobe Photoshop album starter Ed. 3.0
I just spent forever waiting for assistance from adobe and after I got (Trish) she was of no help what so ever and she hung up on me when I needed to be told that I had to register to post a request for information. She gave me two unlock codes, neither of which worked. Can someone please help me as all my pictures are in this program.
How do I unlock? I registered and then it says they will send me an unlock code; which they never have. thus my telephone call and waiting forever and then getting hung up on.
If someone could help me I would appreciate some assistance. Adobe does not respond to e-mails that I have sent.

Hi Donna, I would suggest you to delete perferences and try again. Preferences are located in C:\Documents and Settings\<Logon name>\Application data\Photoshop Album\3.0 Delete files present over there. Please note that Application data is a hidden folders so you need to make "Show hidden files and folders" under explorer -> Tools --> Folder options -> View. I am using Photoshop Album Starter Edition on Windows XP + SP2 and it is working fine. Which OS and service pack are you using?
