Why do I need to re-install flash player every time I restart my PC

About a week ago my I nocticed that when every I tried to watch a flash video (with the exception of using Chrome) I was asked to install flash player with I already had installed.  However if I reinstall it everything works until I restart my PC.  Needless to say the is getting frustrating but I can't seem to fix it.  I have tried uninstalling and reistalling but this doesn't help... Once I restart the computer it doesn't work.  Any help would be appriated.
Edit:  Forgot to mention I'm running Windows 7 (64 bit).

Try a clean install as described in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/928315
Download the installers from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#Ins tall_in_a_firewall_proxy_server_environment
If the problem persists, run the uninstaller again, then try fixing the permissions on your system: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/987370

  • I have installed Flash Player 5 times. It keeps disappearing, or won't load when I'm running MSIE8.0

I am running Windows XP, MSIE 8.0. I have installed Flash Player 5 times. It keeps disappearing, or won't even install over Internet Explorer. It stops halfway, and tells me to close Internet Explorer because it can't install with it running. I did that yesterday, and it installed when I started IE again, so I thought the problem was solved. Then, today, I logged on and tried to use Flash Player.  It was not installed.  I re-installed it, and came to the same block. It will not install while Internet Explorer is running.

Download the correct 32-bit or 64-bit uninstaller and installer and exit I.E.8.

    Run the uninstaller.
    Reboot.
    Run the installer.

Could you do the following please.
Click "Start" and then in the search box at the bottom of the menu, type: CMD
When you get the link, right click it and choose "Run As Administrator".
At the prompt, type CD\ and hit Enter. This will take you to the root.
Next, type: net user administrator /active:yes and hit Enter to enable the hidden Administrator account.
Type: EXIT to close the command prompt.
Reboot the machine and you'll see an additional logon option called Administrator. Choose that and then hit Enter to boot to the desktop (the Aministrator account doesn't have a password by default).
Disable your antivirus to prevent it interfering with the installation. If you have AVAST antivirus, right click the orange icon in systray, go to Avast Shields Control and disable all shields for 1 hour. Otherwise consult this list for instructions on how to disable it: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic114351.html
Next, download Flash for Internet Explorer from here: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax_64bit.exe
When you see the prompt, click "Run" to install it immediately.
After the installation completes, open a command prompt again and type: net user administrator /active:no to disable the Administrator account.
Reboot the machine and then open Internet Explorer.
    Click "Tools", then "Manage Add-ons".
In the dropdown menu on the left near the bottom (see screenshot), choose "Run without permission".
Scroll down to "Adobe Systems Incorporated" and verify that "Shockwave Flash Object" is installed and enabled. If it's present, but disabled, click the "Enable" button bottom left of that menu.
Finally, re-enable you antivirus and reboot again. Check the "Manage Add-ons" menu to verify that Flash is still present.

  • Why do I need to unplugg all USB devices every time I want to boot up my pc?

Hello, recently I came across this weird problem where i need to unplug my usb devices every time I want to boot up my PC. I've disabled the "boot from usb" option in the BIOS however it didn't fix it. This issue is on my HP elite 8300 CMT. Any help will be appreciated thanks in advance.

Typically what happens - one device causes the problem.  If you find the offending device by doing one device at a time, perhaps it will be something that you do not really need all the time.  I had a USB printer that would prevent proper bootup or shut down, so just left it disconnected most of the time.

  • Need Password to Install Flash Player on Mac

I am trying to sign in to install adobe flash player and i receive a pop up box that indicates I need to enter my password.  Is that for Adobe or for my iMac?  I have tried both and neither seem to work.  Any suggestions?

I've branched your question to a new thread, as it was unrelated to the thread you posted in.
This password prompt is presented by your operating system, and is intended to keep you from accidentally installing software.
If this is your personal machine and you don't need a password to log into the computer when it first starts up, you can probably leave the password blank and click OK to get past this prompt.  If this is your personal machine and your normal password isn't working, check to make sure that CAPS LOCK is off, and type the password carefully.
If this is your work machine and it's asking for an Administrator password, well, you'll need to have a conversation with your friendly IT person.
If you're still stumped, you may need to reset the password on your Mac:

  • Why do I have to reload flash player every time i Reeboot.

Why do I have to reload flashplayer every time I reeboot. I went on the internet and found dozens of people who have had this problemgoing back for years.

Hi, This is what confused me from your previous post:
    Flash64_10_2_161.ocx
    Flashinstall.log
    FlashUtil64_10_2_161_ActiveX.dll
    FlashUtil64_10_2_161_ActiveX.exe
I wonder why the version listed there is not 10.1.102.64, which is the latest released version of FP?
What is that then that is Installed in your Flash files? Please clarify as I have never seen that.
Let me ask you, do you have a 64bit system? What you listed in System32/Flash is not making sense to me.
Betas are not for me either, I have enough problems. I worked with someone that had the FP beta AND the IE9 beta!! Talk about a glutton for punishment, LOL Especially considering FP works thru the browser, Ha-Ha No way.........
    Let me know,
    Thanks,

  • Flash uninstalls every time I restart firefox

Every time I close Firefox, Flash uninstalls. Every time. I am getting tired of reinstalling manually every time I want to view a site that uses Flash. Please help!

Did you try creating a new Firefox profile ?
Did you succeed in getting a new clean profile running, one with no add-ons, and only the default bookmarks lists ?
    * open the new profile in Firefox's [[safe mode]], check it has no plugins listed, or if it has uninstall them whilst in safe mode
    * restart firefox again using this new profile and check it shows no add-ons or plugins.
    * just to be sure restart your computer and check again
If so did you then try to open that new profile and install the Flash player plugin into it.
    May also need to consider
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Preferences_not_saved
A clean reinstall may solve the problem but do not try that yet, because you could loose information. You are mentioning multiple profiles by this I guess you are referring to having multiple Windows accounts on your computer
    * is that correct ?
** or are you for instance using multiple Firefox profiles already from a single Windows account
    * do all users have bookmarks and/or passwords that you may like to retain ?

  • Why do websites ask me to install flash player when I already have the latest version?

    Windows 7 (64 bit)
    IE 9
    Flash 11.5.502.135

That discussion doesn't seem the same as my problem.
    Here's a screen cap:
I've had this same issue with previous versions maybe all the way back to 9 or 10 or further

  • Need to reinstall Flash player every time

I have two G4's side by side. They both have 10.3.9 and QT 7.1, but one of them shows a Q with a question mark when I view Websites with QT images after starting up. If I want to view QT images online I have to log out and reinstall the Flash 9 (player?) all over again. This goes for watching YouTube as well. The other computer doesn't have this problem and shows QT all the time.
What needs to be done to solve this?
    many thanks,
    k.

    Thanks Kirk,
Your solution worked like a charm and will save me lots of time.
I wonder why the box was checked in the first place? It seems like a fairly obscure setting.
