Why do I need to stop and restart web server?????

I am developing servlets on sun's standard web server as well as with Netscape's web server.
The problem is every time I make any changes to servlet and recompile my code, changes are not visible until I stop and restart web server. I guess web server uses cached version of servlet.
Can any body help me to solve this problem? It is matter of some setting issues in web server. But since I am novice, I don't know.........

Some app servers have a "reloadable" attribute that can automatically detect changes in your servlet and reload your application for you. Not sure if all do though... but check through the docs on your app server and see if there's something similar. If not, you're probably stuck manually restarting.

I think I would cancel it. Unplug phone, then plug back in and then maybe only select download instead of download and install. Thats what I did for our phones and so far we have no issues at all with any of the features - new or old. I don't know why that would make a difference though. But it will allow you to unplug your phone once the download starts and go do your thing while its downloading. Then you can come back later and when u plug in iTunes will ask you to install new software for phone.

defunct process when stop and start web server

Dear all,
I am using Sun One Web Server 6.1 SP6. When i try to stop and then start the web server. The <defunct> process is generated (his parent PID points to webservd).
The following is the result:
1st stop and start the web server (defunct process is generated)
2nd stop and start the web server (defunct process disappears)
3rd stop and start the web server(defunct process is generated)
4th stop and start the web server (defunct process disappears)

- which OS & version are you running into this issue ?
- By definition, defunct processes (or zombie processes) are processes that have exited prior to it's parent calling a wait() on it to get the return status .
- couple of things I can think of to narrow down the cause of this issue
1. disable ASP & php plugins and see if this still causes this issue
2. try starting the web server with log level to finest and see fi you get any useful information from the server error logs

I'm working in West Africa, and iTunes says it will take between 8 and 11 hours to download the OS (5.0.1). But I never have that long a stretch of uninterrupted electricity or internet. Every blink off and I have to start again at zero. Bit torrents are already an old technology. What gives? Basically, I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO UPDATE MY IPOD. And probably not my macbook.

Hi, my qustion is i have 2 example a and example b. Example b lets u start counting up in seconds when u want to. as long as the toggle switchs are in correct position. it also lets u start, stop and restart if need be. i want to be able to that with example a, but for some reason the while loop always sets of running independent of what position the the toggle switch. Any help greatly appreciated.

If it is a HD movie, it may not be enough. The iPad also need working space.
Try download to iTune (computer) and "Move" to iPad.

Have to stop and restart Q-Master for it to show up in Compressor 3.5.1 SL

I am having a problem with Q-Master in Snow Leopard, running compressor 3.5.1, where every time I restart, when I go into compressor, it does not show up my Q-Master cluster. Instead I must go into the control panel (which has to restart into 32 bit mode, COME ON APPLE LETS MAKE Q-MASTER 64 BIT!) and stop and restart Q-Master and then it shows up in Compressor.
Is this because the control panel has to be in 32 bit mode for it to work? Is anyone else having a similar problem?

I have the exact same thing happening!!! Funny how you haven't got a response to fix the issue. I called Apple and the guys said I needed to reformat my drive and install FCS from scratch to get rid of any files from FCS 2, only because I used some FCP utility to remove the previous version.< </div>
Sorry you got that advice from Apple. Reinstalling Apple software is rarely effective and a scorched earth approach rarely solves anything. It simply takes everything back to a default state.
I've had this same issue with Qmaster on my system and I'm still running 10.5+ so it's not a Snow Leopard issue. I solved it, at least for now, by simply deleting Qmaster only and reinstalling just Qmaster. However, I deleted and installed Qmaster to solve a problem with FCP; it was crashing immediately upon launch.
This is important: I have no way of knowing if there is a direct or causal relationship between any of these events.

I guess restarting database is not required during the process of restarting Hyperion Environment. Below order is preferable.
Stop:
1) Essbase Administration Services
2) Planning
3) BI Plus Web Apps (Workspace, Web Analysis,..)
4) BI Plus (core)
5) Foundation Services (License services, shared services)
Start:
1) Foundation Services (License services, shared services)
2) BI Plus (core)
3) BI Plus Web Apps (Workspace, Web Analysis,..)

After upgrading, videos randomly stop and restart.

Since upgrading to iTunes 10 purchased videos of TV shows randomly stop and restart. I've had these videos for years and never had a problem, but now every time I watch an episode it sill get around 5 minutes in and spontaneously start the episode over. Anyone else having these problems?

If you reboot your SAP this often, you'll have performance problems every Monday. All
of your SAP internal Buffers must be filled again after an reboot. If your DB is on the
same Host, also your DB Buffer is empty.
If this is an productive System, i highly recommend you that you not reboot your SAP System this often....
(By side, thats the difference between an *nix and an Windows System.).
What is the reason for doing that?

Need advice on what is the correct way to start, stop and restart a Java task?
I have tried with Executors.newCachedThreadPool() or fixedThreadPool() however I was only able to submit the task once. My program crashed when i tried to resubmit the task again after a shutdownnow command()

Tasks are designed to be run once. If you want restart functionality, use a service:

You won't really be deactivating any extract structure or datasource because it will stop data transfer. However if you change the structure and do not activate it then it will be in modified version (or deactivate state) for system.

Assuming you are talking about "iBooks", then just
tap the center of the screen
and you should see a "Library" in the upper left corner of the screen.
tap the center of the screen again,
and you should return to full screen mode.
if this is NOT iBooks, then I do not know what controls that app

Thanks for that clarification. So, now it appears that the ultimate purpose of a Smart Mailbox is to point to all emails that meet the criteria in a single place, so if they are spread among several mailboxes, you will be able to see them all together. Here is an article from Apple that describes it:
A Smart Mailbox displays in one location messages that are stored in other mailboxes, so you don’t have to move messages between mailboxes. The messages displayed by a Smart Mailbox are based on criteria you define, and are automatically updated to include new messages that match your criteria. For example, you might create a Smart Mailbox that displays all messages found in all mailboxes from a specific sender.
If you change a message in a Smart Mailbox, such as marking the message as read or unread, or moving or deleting the message, the change is reflected in the mailbox where the message is actually stored.
So, adam, I would think that, if you had mail going to a lot of different places, and wanted to be able to see a particular set of those in a single place, you would use a smart mailbox. Maybe use the rules to direct your mail to different places to start with, but a smart mailbox to bring a set of common ones all together into a single smart mailbox?
Maybe you have Rules move your Amazon mail to an Amazon folder and your Apple mail to an Apple folder, but then you have a Smart Mailbox that contains any mail that has the word "Receipt" in the Subject line?

first query :
Scenario is "Idoc to file transfer"
why we dont need sender agreement and communication channel for IDOC to file ,while we do need
both of these for "File to RFC "
Answer : which i got is because IDOC sits at ABAP stack but same is valid for RFC also.
Then why For "IDOC to file" we dont need that.
Second query:
Also when i did scenario for File1-RFC-File2 scenario using BPM i have created a interface
between XI-RFC synchronous to send data which we got from file1 in XI to RFC importing parameter
and getting data from RFC back to File2.
Here in IDOC to file scenario why we dont need any interfface for IDOC-XI Asynchronous.

Dear All,
For file to idoc scenario is there any possibility to get line items details or xml details i.e the segments and its related field details using reference id, transaction id or interface name or message id in SAP PI 7.0. I know we need to click each and every message in sxi_monitor and look for details.
For SAP(R3 System) I can create a report and set the job for specific time period so automatically it throws the details(like reference no, document date, invoice no from) in ftp path as .csv file. The same ftp path is maintained in program.
I wanted to check FTP--->PI postings and I have set the job at r3 system it is working fine and Im monitoring it too.
Now the end to end scenario is FTP--->PI--->ECC(R3 system). Please help.Many Thanks.

Can a subVI tell when the application it is part of has been stopped and restarted?
It is easy enough for a subVI to tell when it has been run for the first time after having been loaded into memory. But is there a way for a subVI to tell when the application it is part of has been stopped and restarted? Is there some property or application-invocation-specific refnum that when queried multiple times during the same run of the application would return the same value yet when queried during different runs of the application would return different values?
I don�t want to depend on anything that happens when a run is exited.
I don�t want to require code to be included in the main V
I to accomplish the solution.
(Otherwise I could, in the main VI create an un-named semaphore tied to a global; the subVI could then check the global to see if the value changed, which it would between runs of the application.)
Any ideas?

Have you tried the First Call? function? It's on the Advanced>Synchronization palette.
