Why do I receive duplicate email?

I receive two exact emails for every incoming mail. How can I correct this?

Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser.
If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.

    Agree with Willard. Please check if these duplicate messages have the same Message ID.
    If they are sent separately, we can't stop this. If they have the same Message ID, please check whether there is corrupted rules in Outlook.
    Besides, please check if there is any third party add-ins from Outlook user side. If the shared mailbox is accessed by 5 users, then we need to disable add-ins on these 5 users' Outlook client.

    Have you turned on a forwarding or copying service at yahoo?  The only way to get duplicate emails from two different email services is if one of them forwards and copies to another, or if senders are sending to both email addresses.

    I have been receiving duplicate emails from November 2011 all morning, and they were long since received and deleted.  The total will be 14,955, and after five hours, we're only up to June.  What's going on, and how can this happen?  I can't get my current emails until this is finished!

    A couple of days ago, I updated from os 10.4x to os 10.5x. Since then, there have been a handful of e-mails which have been plaguing my system. Roughly 10 times a day, the e-mail will show up as a new e-mail. When I use "mail2web.com" to double check that there are no messages on my server, it shows that they are no longer there. Still, every hour or two, these handful of messages show up again as if they are new, and this has been happening for 2 days now.
    Feel free to e-mail me if you have any suggestions. The suggestions already listed didn't work for me.

    Why have I received an email from Adobe telling me my subs about to run out? I bought a Creative Cloud sub for a whole year about a month ago - with auto renewal too.     I too have received this email and one telling me my trial software expires in 2 days. I checked and yes, again I'm showing trial software though AAM shows the creative cloud copy downloaded and installed. I was unable to reach anyone within 20 minutes of hold at Adobe customer support phone but was able to speak to someone named Karal on chat. Karal told me that Adobe would look into the matter and get back to me. When I asked for a case number I was told one would be sent to me after the chat. I'm still waiting.
    There are numerous problems with the Adobe Creative Cloud as everyone knows. What we need to keep in mind when dealing with Adobe Creative Cloud is that we are all BETA testers for this new type of service. Adobe was and is unprepared to service the Creative Cloud at this time but I can't believe they are not working to resolve the problems. Will some customers get "screwed" over during this BETA testing period? Of course. You have to expect that you will and take it with a grain of salt. Let's face it there really isn't another option to Ps/Dw/Lr/Acrobate is there? No, so let's calm down and try to help each other. The poor souls on the other end of Customer Support are just as lost and confused as we are..it's not their fault and they have no power or resources to fix the overall problems.
    I can tell you what I’ve done for the company I work for since I recommended the cloud and obviously it was not a good choice for us at this time,
    On 6/9 we will cancel the subscriptions to the cloud unless I find that the individual software will not recieve maintenance updates as is now the current rumor.
    We will upgrade our individual software packages with the upgrade option and request CD backups.
    We have contracted with DropBox for a 500mg box. I really like this service so far.
    I’m hoping this puts me back in good status with the boss and the graphics department as everyone will get what the need to work without the limitations of the cloud and without me spending hours each day trying to figure out support issues.
    Remember if you can live through the next 6 to 10 months the Creative Cloud will probably be a great thing. If not, bail now and come back when it's ready for "prime time". As we use to say in my RANGER days. "Suck it up soldier; this is what we train for!"

    Do you see duplicates if you setup mail on your computer? This will help isolate the problem a bit, to find out if it's just with the iPad.

    I can send them in Outbound, but the Inbound id not working.

    My email provider said to contact Mac and ask for clarifications, because there is anything we can do from our end.

    What isp / mail server company you are using?
    Turn off your firewall.   Perhaps your router in blocking the mail port.

    Did you delete the old emails on the iPhone or on the email server?  If on the iPhone and not the server, when it reattaches your email server may think it is a new device and resync all of the old content.
    If you are using a POP email account you can set the device to delete from server on opening...then the email will only exist on the iPhone.  Deleting from the iPhone will then eliminate the email entirely.
    If you want to access the email from multiple devices, it would be best to manually login to the email server and delete those you no longer want.
