Why do I see � instead of é in the entirety of one website, but Firefox has no problem displaying the character when I type it myself?

The website is "http://www.serebii.net". Its a Pokémon database, and everywhere there should be a é, there is a � symbol instead.

Make sure that you have the Western (ISO-8859-1) encoding selected and not UTF-8.
View > Character Encoding > Western (ISO-8859-1)

- Reset all settings

Since they all line up on the left site that could be a hardware problem or maybe a software glitch. I have never seen that problem posterd here before

If someone who is listed in your contacts calls you, you will only see their name. This has nothing to do with the fact you're in Egypt. The only workaround I can see for this is to put the person's number in the name section of the contacts. In other words, put their first and last name in the first name section and their phone number in the last name section.

At least vaseline is non-conductive. It might be easier to replace the keyboard.

Why do I see about:blank in the address bar when clicking a link within an email item in my yahoo mail account?

I have Os X and Firefox 4. When I click a link in an email in my yahoo mail account, the address bar first shows about:blank and then goes on to obtain the address of the link. Is this a virus, or hacker, or what? Thanks for your help.

You only see the URL after Firefox has made a connection. 
During the initial state you see about:blank in the location bar.

Why ?? on EVERY web search do I get a message saying " Firefox has prevented this web site ". These are trusted sites for the most part

I reloaded the Free version of Firefox browser about two months ago. Since then EVERY TIME I browse, with just a few exceptions, Firefox displays a message bar across the top of the screen saying " Firefox has prevented this site" with the message there is a check box asking "ALLOW?" When I check the ALLOW most times I get the web page BUT on some occasions Firefox just continues to block the page.
The sites and pages I am referring to here are for the most TRUSTED places.
This has been happening since I reloaded. It was NOT an issue prior to that.
It is VERY annoying and I have since switched to Google Chrome.
If you can offer some reasoning or explanation as to why this is happening I will be appreciative.

If you find a version of Firefox that isn't free, let us know because that likely would be a scam...
It would be helpful to know the rest of that phrase because two things come to mind but I might be missing the one you're actually seeing.
* Popup windows: Firefox will display an infobar like that when a popup window is blocked. If you don't ever want to block popups, you can turn that feature off in the Options dialog: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Content > ''Uncheck'' Block pop-up windows
* Redirect: Firefox has an accessibility feature that blocks some redirects. You can unblock them in the Options dialog: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General mini-tab > ''Uncheck'' Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page

I have the Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro (Versión 9.0.0) and I need to compare two documents, but I want to show the diferences changing the color of letters instead of highlight the text with any color. My boss tell me that other Acrobat version have this option, but I couldn't find it in this version.

Step away from the devices....As long as you see iTunes showing that the download is in progress, you are good to go. When it is all done, iTunes will stop doing stuff, and there may be a message on your iPod (or not). But once all activity stops on iTunes, unless there is some sort of error message, you are safe to eject your device from the computer.

The website may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password.
You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.

Text Starts Scrolling down the page when i type

Im a law student and take an extensive amount of notes in class on my laptop. I tried switching from MS word to Pages, but intermittently run into problems that have caused me to stop using pages. Ill be typing, and all of the sudden my notes will start scrolling down the screen rapidly. ill look up a few pages and ill see it inserted a HUGE gap between the first word i typed and the second, usually about a page. My notes instantly turn from ~14 pages to~20+ every time i type an additional letter. I try closing the document, reopening it, no luck. I can then not use that file any longer, and start a new one. One the new one, same thing, after about 1-3 pages of typed notes, it starts scrolling down the page again. any ideas?? i really want to use pages, but can't until it stops this nonsense. thanks in advance

Is this a blank page on which this occurs, or has it been formatted with vertical numbering? I use Pages extensively and have never run into such a thing. It almost seems like a sticky 'return' key. If there is some other formatting, there may be an 'image wrap' occurring that would make it jump beyond the image to the next page.
It's a curious dilemma.

I get vertical lines below the text when I type

After upgrading to Firefox 4 in Windows 7 I get vertical line that appear below what I type. This is not happening with other browsers. Anybody else experiencing this or have a solution?

This problem should not be because of hardware acceleration and I think I found the answer. I was getting odd graphical iisues in Firefox 4. Not just with the strange vertical lines. By disabling hardware accelration it did indeed fix the issue with the lines underneath where I typed in boxes. But the other problems were still an issue. I tried to fix the other issue by disabling all my addons and it did not make any difference. BUT when I restarted Firefox 4 in safe mode it did. Which led me to believe something else was at play here.
I remembered the UserChrome.css I had in my Firefox profile folder. I renamed that file and restarted Firefox. All my graphical bugs vanished. Out of curiousity I also enabled hardware acceleration. Voila! No more vertical lines either!
Now I did a reinstall of Firefox 4 just to check if it created a UserChrome.cc file but it did not. So I can only assume that there is something in that old file that others have when upgrading from Firefox 3 that causes this issue and other graphic probs.
I advise anyone who noticed this issue to try renaming UserChrome.css if it exists and see if it resolves the issue or not.

Hi barb, well for one thing the vs of Flash Player is the old one. You need to update to the latest version which is 10.0.42.34.

Then go to this thread and follow my instructions, except use the links I gave you. The procedures are the same.
Before you do any of this, take a look at the Uninstall article and the last two NOTES. They are very important when uninstalling IE. The last NOTE: Use the "See Details" If you see the old version of 10.0.32.18 still there, follow those instructions in that NOTE.

Also one other difference is after Adobe confirms you have the 10.0.42.34 installed, you would go to the manage add ons
and look for Shockwave Flash Object.....ActiveX Control......Flash10d.ocx ...... make sure that is listed and it is Enabled.
Java: If you have any old Java entries in your Add/Remove, Remove them via the Add/Remove process, wait until the entry no longer appears and when you are finished, Reboot.
