Why do I see two iCloud - Notes in my iMac Notes application?

When I start my Notes application on my iMac 27, I am now seeing the following in the left hand column for the Notes window:
All Notes
iCloud
  Notes
iCloud
  Notes
If I click on the first "Notes" under the first iCloud item, nothing appears.
If I click on the second "notes" under the second iCloud item, all my notes appear.
This does not happen on any of my other Apple devices (two MBPs, and iPhone 4S)
Any ideas?
Jim P.

Also, I did notice that when I'm connected to wifi, my notes appear from the 2nd "notes" but if I am syncing with my cellular then the notes (empty) appear from the 1st "notes".
How is this dependant on wifi or cellular?

  • Why do I see two profile pics on the welcome screen?

When I restart or power up my laptop, I eventually arrive at the Welcome to Windows sign on screen.  On that screen I see two of my profile images side by side while I'm being signed in.  I'm not sure why.  I only have one profile.  Is
this a bug or is there something I can do about it?

Yep, that was it!  I removed the auto login and it showed only a single image.
May I ask how you provided feedback on this issue?  I'd like to do that as well, but I'm not sure how.  Please let me know.

  • Why can't see previous iCloud backups

I have an iPhone 4 and an Ipad 2, both use the same iCloud acount but the iphone doesn't have the iCloud Backup option activated, the iPad it does. On my iPhone I see that on the iCloud I have an iPad backup from the day before yesterday with the size of 2.3 GB, but when I try to restore it from the iPad it says there are not any iCloud Backup, the options are: config as a new iPad or restore from iTunes(where I don't have a recent backup).
How Can I restore my iPad from that iCloud backup?

I'm sorry, and it might just be me, but I am finding your post a little bit confusing. The phone doesn't have iCloud activated but there is an iPhone backup in iCloud? Am I missing something?
Since your devices are running two different versions of the iOS, I will assume that if you are trying to restore the newer version backup onto the device running the older iOS, that will not work. You can only restore backups to a device running the same or newer iOS than the backup was running.

  • Why do I see two different versions of a website on Firefox and Internet Explorer? The version on Firefox is an older version of the website.

I use Intuit to maintain a website. After I update the website, Firefox continues to display the previous version while the revised version is displayed on Internet Explorer. I have tried using both Firefox and Internet Explorer when I revise the website, but that does not appear to make any difference. The version on Firefox usually updates to the new version with in a day or two, but the change on Internet Explorer is immediate.

    Try clearing your browser cache.

Recently had to recreate another admin account due to Finder issue. Once it was set up and all my data transfered, I deleted it. I can't think of any other recent event that might have caused this.
Is there a way to delete one of them?

Thanks, Joseph. I didn't even think to drag it out of window! Only thought the dock had that feature.

  • I don't see the iCloud logo on my iMac, only Mobile Me.  I am using OS Version 10.6.8

On my iMac, version 10.6.8, I am not able to use iCloud.  Under System Preferences, I have 'Mobile Me' instead of 'iCloud'.  Do I need to upgrade the OS to OS Lion to use iCloud?  If  so, is this a free upgrade?  I don't see that being offered as part of the automatic software updates.  Thank you.

Yes. You must upgrade to 10.7.2 or later to use iCloud. iCloud is free.
Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You must purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
For a complete How-To introduction from Apple see Upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.

  • Duplicate iCloud calendars on my iMac

After setting up iCloud on my iPhone and iPad and my Mac when I went to my iMac, there were multiples of every apointment showing. And under calencars, I had three categories, : ON my MAC; iCloud; iCloud; and Subscriiptions.I started unchecking calendars under one of the iCLoud sections and some duplicate items disappeared. So I did that in both iCloud sections and my iMac caleendar looks normal again. But now most of the evets fhave disappeared from my iPhone. Whatever am I doing wrong.
When I started I had the calendar on my i Pad and Mac synced. I just got the iPhone. If my primary calendar is on my iMac, do I have to have calendars blank on the iPhone and iPad befoe I turn on th e iCloud?  Why do I show two iCLoud Calendars on my iMac?

Check your calendar on icloud.com to see if there are duplicates there.  If not, open Calendar on your Mac, click Calendars on the top left if your calendars are not visible in the left sidebar, then see if you might have a duplicate calendar listed under On My Mac.  If so, either delete it or uncheck it so it is no longer in view.

  • Two iClouds accounts in Notes ?

On my MacBook, I have two iCloud accounts appearing in Notes and hence I receive all notes twice (not a life-threatening problem but slightly annoying). The iMac which seems to be set up the same way does not exhibit the same problem. I only have and I am only logged in with one me.com account (to the best of my knowledge).
I have tried deleting the iCloud account (in Preferences > Mails, contacts, calendars), then reconnecting and re-booting,... but the two accounts always show up in Notes. Sometimes Notes will even crash when receiving a notes from the iPhone for instance or trying to write  and sync a note. Hence there seems to be a little bug and it seems it appeared when I moved to Mountain Lion. I have even tried reinstalling Mountain Lion but I can still see two iClouds accounts in Notes. The only way to get ride of one iCloud accounts is to uncheck it from iCloud in Preferences > iCloud or Preferences > Mails, contacts, calendars but it seems to  me odd because the notes will still sync with the same me.com account I just unchecked. Again, I do not have the same issue with the iMac.
Anyone encountered  the same problem and (hopefully) found a solution? Thanks in advance.

I have two. Actually I kept searching after asking my questions and actually just found the solution... There it is :
I deleted : ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes. Duplicate accounts disappeared in Notes and everything is working well now.
    Thanks for your help

  • If I drag and drop ripped songs out of itunes why do I get two files appearing

    hi
wondering why I see two files (that appear identical in name) appear when I drag and drop previously ripped songs out of my itunes library. For example I've noticed this when I drag and drop songs on to the desktop and then I drag them from there on to my portable music player.
the duplicares only appear once files are placed on to portable player, not on desktop ot even memory card that one of my players use
both files have the same extension (eg aiff or m4a)
    only one will play
    why do I see two?
    why does only one play?
does the 2nd (phantom) file take up space?
    any ideas?
    cheers
    peter t

Never import one Library to another. Every version and thumbnail is imported like a distinct photo, you lose all your Albums, Keywords etc., the link between Original and Previews is destroyed, the non-destructive editing feature is ruined and so on. In summary: it's mess.
The only way to merge Libraries is with the paid ($20) version of iPhoto Library Manager
Best way forward: Restore your back ups to the point before you did this and start over using Library Manager

  • Is it possible for two people to use one iMac with iPhone and iPad separate iTunes and iCloud acc?

Apologies if this is a very obvious question. I have one iMac that my husband and I use, he has an iPhone that he syncs with the iMac via iTunes for app such as docs to go. I recently purchased an iPad, I want to also sync with the iMac. Is it possible to use two iTunes and two iCloud acc to one iMac? We would like to pick and choose what we sync as we keep separate docs etc on the iMac, can this be done?

Yes.  Just set up your own account in System Preferences > Accounts (User &groups in Mountain Lion).  You'll have your own seperate everything including mail.
