Why do my Adobe cc files have no date?

I organise my files in folders and have the newest files at the top of the list. Lately, files I have created or old files I have worked on are under the section 'No Date' so at the bottom of the folder list. This is a real pain when you have multiple copies and you want to reopen or access the latest version or file you've created!
Does anyone have any ideas how to rectify this? It happens in all programmes and is really annoying - as are all the bugs now in CC!!!!

Right click one of the PDFs with the Word icon.
Select "Properties"
Where it says "Opens With" there is a button to change it from Word to Adobe Reader, which should be in the list of available programs that pops up.
Choose Reader, and click APPLY before clicking OK.
That will change ALL PDFs to Reader as the default application.

Why when I merge clips in Audition CC does the new merge file have no data? It happens in large projects and once it starts to happen I cannot get merge clips or bounce tracks to work correctly.

Sounds like the file is bad. Where are you downloading the file/s from? What browser are you using to do the downloads? If you can't download what seems to be the problem? You need to provide more detailed information other than my car doesn't go.

Why doe Resample waveforms (continous).vi have missing data

I am using the Resample Waveforms (continous).vi to resample waveforms at a slower rate than the acquisition is taking place. I am doing this because I am using an NI-9237, which has a minimum sampling rate of 1612.9 Hz. I am acquiring from up to 12 channels of AI and resampling the array of waveforms. When I save the output of the resampling VI to a file, some of the channels have missing data for a given timepoint and sometmes the timepoint will be off. I have removed the Reasmple VI and I do not see this problem.
I have attached a screenshot of my VI and of the saved data file (time is leftmost column, one column for each channel).

I ran some more tests. I should have mentioned I was using a simulated device (as I do not have the actual hardware yet) to troubleshoot my application. I happen to have another peice of "real" hardware that I tried and I cannot seem to duplicae the issue with it. I need to wait for my actual cDAQ to arrive before I can be sure, but this seems to be the problem. It still doesn't make sense to me since using the simulated device without the Resmaple VI produces accurate "simulated timepoints. It's when I introduce the Resample that I have problems.

Why hasn't Adobe fixed the "disappearing form data" problem???

I am using Acrobat 9.2 and people are emailing me a fillable, savable form that I CAN'T READ WHEN I GET IT! What the...?
I'm using Windows 7. The PDF form opens blank and I can only see what the user typed in if I click on one of the fields. When I click on any other field, I can see that field only -- the first one disappears and there is no way to print it. Exporting the data gives me a useless text of .fdf whatever file that is also useless and require further processing. Is there no simple solution to this? Guess I need to start using Google Forms instead of lousy Adobe products!

There is a known problem caused by Macintosh's Preview application and an Adobe blogger has posted a tool to fix these forms. The solution has been posted many times so you should be able to search for it. As a user,

Why can't Adobe Reader X update the data matrix?

Hey guys,
I create via Livecycle Designer an new PDF, add two text fields and insert a data matrix from formularbarcode.
As one of its properties I set a collection (the two text fields) on which the data matrix is based.
The two text fields are variable.
After saving the PDF and open it with the Adobe Reader and fill in the text fields the data matrix code changes to a grey box.
If I do this with the Adobe Acrobat Professional, it'll work. Where is the problem? Please help!

Loop through files locating specific data sets

Hi there,
I have been given the wonderful task of developing a setup which needs to do the following using JCAPS:
- open and read through various flat files in a folder. These flat files have random data sets in them, where a line starting with 01, marks the start of a data set and 99, marks the end of a data set. 03, marks the line where the account number can be found.
- retrieve the account number from the data sets and verify that against an external Oracle database table.
- if account number is found, then read the data set from the flat file and write the data set to an output file.
- if the account number is not found in the Oracle database table, just discard the dataset and continue with the next data set.
If you have any ideas on how to set this up, that would be much appreciated. No need to spell things out, but if anyone has worked on a scenario like this or similar using JCAPS to do the trick please let me know.
A scenario variant is that, instead of looking up the account number against the oracle database, we can use an if-statement like "if the currency is GBP, EUR, SEK, then take the data set from the input file and write the data set to the output file.
I can create an input OTD to read in the data sets, and an output OTD which creates the output file. There is a blank line between data sets. The structure of a data set looks like this:

Moved home movies, now they have wrong dates!!!

My Mac was running out of space so I went into an Apple store and an associate suggested that I move my videos to an external drive, which I did. Now all my movies show the incorrect dates! Can I recover the lost metadata?

Video files have no date metadata except the file data. That can easily change when a file is moved, edited and do on. Unlike photos, where the date and time of the shot is tracked in the Exif metadata. So basically, never rely on the file date for a video - it's just not reliable.
One workaround is to name the file with the date - So, London, 1-5-2011 as a filename will sort the problem out for you.
Rather than cut and paste, try doing it the supported way: File -> Export and set the Kind to Original. That will probably preserve the file date, but it's only temporary. Sooner or later you're going to have this problem.

Once created the file must have the native application to be "opened".
For the application to do that first to open is the software (application).

Everything works fine, excepting that when I attempt to open Photoshop 6, I am prompted for the serial number. I enter the serial number provided by Adobe, which I have confirmed with my "previous purchase" records kept by Adobe. It is demanding a "qualifying product", all of which is contained in the complete files I transferred. Why can't Adobe recognise my valid serial number for Photoshop 6?

Try this:
Go to: Mac HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins
Trash the AdobePDFViewer.plugin and AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin files
Empty the trash
Relaunch Safari. You can now download undamaged PDFs.

Why suddenly will Adobe not print a PDF file but will only save as .prn file that my computer will not recognize? This is a new problem never experienced before. I have tried updating all versions of Adobe Reader but still no results.

Why is my CS6 Adobe Illustrator file so large?

I duplicated one of my previously created CS6 Adobe Illustrator files (28 MB) with photos that have clipping masks. Why is my new AI file now 148 MB in size, when all of my newly linked jpeg graphics total only 9 MB? If I save it as a regular pdf it's 148MB, but if I save this same file with the smallest size pdf format, it reduces it down to only 242 KB. No files are embedded either in my newly created AI file. My business associate working on other Illustrator files experiences this same phenomenon sporadically at times too. It has us both baffled.

But why isn't the pdf embedding the jpegs, and use the file size of the jpegs? Are you telling me that the pdf editing compatibility function is actually converting the jpeg information into a uncompressed format? That's crazy, because all the similar Illustrator files that came before this one, used the same method and similar jpegs in size, and AI file size was negligible (700k to 2 MB size) on those previous files even though pdf compatibility was checked when saving in .ai format.
What's more, I tried resaving that ai file without pdf compatibility and file size is just as large as before. It made no difference. I also resaved those jpegs in Photoshop with the save for Web option. It still didn't make a difference. However, if I save those as pdfs using the smallest file size rather than [Illustrator default] and editing capatibility it make a big difference-down into the KB size range.

Adobe Reader is a read only software for PDF files. JPEG is not a supported format which would open in Adobe Reader. You would need to open Jpeg in application which supports this file format.(e.g. Photoshop, Picture Viewer, MS Paint)
