Why do my Aironet 1042s stop accepting clients after a month or so?

Hello, everyone.
I have a test setup with a vWLC (7.5.102.0) and four APs. Two Aironet 1602i APs were purchased for the test and have been functioning for months with no issues.
Our other two APs in this setup are older Aironet 1042Ns. Before the vWLC test, the 1042s had been operating in standalone mode. I converted them to LAPs manually following the procedures at http://www.skytale.net/blog/archives/37-Manually-converting-a-Cisco-AP-to-LAP-mode.html. The conversions were successful. However, after 1-2 months of uptime, the 1042s will stop accepting most or all clients until I reset the AP. Then they're fine again for a month or two. (They don't both stop at the same time; each AP suffers the issue separately, generally weeks apart from the other one.)
The clients can see the SSIDs, but get errors when they try to join the networks. This applies to both new clients and ones that had previously associated.
The 1042s list boot version 12.4.23.3, IOS version 15.2(4)JA1$, and Mini IOS version 7.5.1.73. Each one is located in a different building, if that helps.
The 1602s list boot version 15.2.2.0, IOS version 15.2(4)JA1$, and Mini IOS version 7.4.1.37.
The syslogs on the vWLC aren't showing anything about association or authentication failures, so I'm puzzled. I'm not sure where to look next. Anyone seen this before?

Hi,
Yes, along with this you need to upgrade the firmware of AP 1042s and then check this issue.

  • FMS 3.0 stops accepting connections after 1-3 days, restart required

    Hi,
    We have a custom application that is running on FMS. Server is dedicated  just for fms, there is only one application running on the server, with  more instances, average traffic is 3-15 simultaneous users. The problem  is, server suddenly stops accepting connections (after 1-3 days from  restart), from this point it is impossible to connect to any instance,  and fms server must be restarted. When the server crashes, the admin  console can see all open instances, can close instances, can restart  fms. There is nothing logged, that would explain this sudden failure.
    Second problem is, cores are connected and disconnected too often,  causing client to reconnect (takes 2-5 seconds).
    Do you have any idea what is causing these problems?

    We have seen similar issues and the best work around is to have your clients connect on alternate cores/servers. The way to accomplish this really depends on your type of application.

  • Why has my apple tv stopped home sharing after the recent update

    My whole network was fine until I updated my ATV last week. After this update the homesharing 'library' stops being visible from my pc after 3 minutes. Ive disabled the wireless and used Ethernet instead but with the same results. I have a BT home hub 3 and have reset the router but with no joy .... Please help !

    Try power cycling the ATV.
    If the issue persists, try providing some more details of the issue such as what video, all, specific apps, etc.

  • Computer stops accepting charge after standby/prolonged use

    I have what appears to be odd, but relatively predictable problem with my white, late 07 macbook and a new 60 watt power adaptor. Usually the system works just fine, but occasionally if I plug it in after the computer has been on standby and used for a while, the computer doesn't recognize the adaptor is plugged in.
    If I remove the battery and replace it with the adaptor plugged in, the connection immediately becomes active and the battery starts charging. This leads me to believe it is some type of software issue that can be resolved or reset. The guy at the apple store when I bought the adaptor said to hold down the power button for five seconds when the battery is out to reset something, but it didn't seem to do anything.
    Any ideas?

    What you were told to do was an SMC reset and it is important for the adapter to work. You will also want to update all your software. To perform the SMC reset pull out the battery and disconnect all cables. Hold the power button for five seconds. Then replace the battery plug the power back in and power the computer on.

  • Enterprise manager stopped to work after several months

    Hi everybody,
    I downloaded Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0) Enterprise/Standard Edition for Microsoft Windows (32-bit) and I installed it successfully in March (I installed it locally on my PC. I've got Win XP operating system).
    Then I used it till May and everything went OK. Yesterady I wanted to return to my work but Oracle Database 10g Release 2 EE doesn't want to connect me.
    There is an address I have entered in my web browser: http://k219:1158/em, where k219 is the name of my PC. I tried to write 5500 instead of 1158 but it failed as well.
    Previously I used http://k219:1158/em and it was OK, but now it fails.
    I tried to startup The iSQL*Plus (http://k219:5560/isqlplus) and it is OK.
    What shall I do? Can anybody help me?
    Thanks.
    Frank

    Thanks a lot for your help and for the web link.
    But I still can not run the EM. Here is the result:
    C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\BIN>emctl status dbconsole
    Environment variable ORACLE_SID not defined. Please define it.
    C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\BIN>set ORACLE_SID=orcl

    There was done changes in my PC a month ago - we changed our web provider and my IP address has changed. Can my problems be caused by this?
    And one thing is suspicious for me. I set env variable ORACLE_SID by using console but as soon as I exit the console and then I start it again, env variable ORACLE_SID is not set up ???!!!
    Any help, please?

  • The App store stopped accepting my credit card all of a sudden. It says that my credit card is "not supported by the Chilean app store"... The credit card is Chilean and was working just fine. Help!

    This is the second time this happens. I was living in the US until April 2011. I moved to Chile and kept using the App Store and the iTunes Store just fine with my US-issued credit card. However, when I accessed my Apple ID from a different device, the store stopped recognizing my credit card information and migrated my ID to the "Chilean" App & Itunes Store (significantly less apps & music... but anyway). I started using my Chilean credit card on the App and iTunes store with no issues. I supposed that the devices catched that I was no longer in the US and that I had to be transferred to the related store (which I think is fine), and that because I was now in the Chilean store I needed to use a Chilean-issued credit card (which doesn't make sense to me, I still don't understand why Apple stopped accepting my US credit card if it is accepted everywhere else in the world online and offline!).
    However, yesterday I bought something from my iPad and when today I went to use the app store from my iPhone the SAME THING happened. I got the same request to "update my billing information", I confirmed my Chilean credit card info and, surprise! "Your credit card is not supported by the Chilean app store"...
    I don't get it. If I didn't get it the first time, I ended up accepting it an getting over it because ok, I moved to another country and my account was migrated, etc. But now, it doesn't recognize my local credit card in my local store! I tried both my local Visa and my local MasterCard, and none of them worked. It looks like my account will not accept ANY credit card, no matter wheter I try to update the info from my mobile devices, on iTunes, on the Mac App Store, etc.
    It has been impossible for me to find any information on what causes this and on how to solve it, and so far I hadn't had any trouble with Apple and hadn't need any support before, but now that I need URGENT SUPPORT, I've come to realize that THEY SUCK at being accessible! There's no way I can contact them! So, please help me!!!!! I need urgent help!!!!
    Thanks and sorry for the very long post.

    Same thing happened to me with my peruvian credit card in the peruvian app store, I want to buy an app, but it says that my credit card is "not supported in the Peruvian app store"

  • HELP!  Gateway stops accepting new connections

    Config: PS6.1 on Solaris 9 (Sparc), seperate gateway on Solaris 9 (Sparc) The PS6.1 was migrated from a PS3.0 installation, The machines are V240 with 2GB RAM and 4GB swap.

    Several minutes after startup (it varies from 1 to 40) I get the following message:

    This was working fine until we changed the IP of the gateway and moved its ethernet connection to "outside" the firewall. I re-installed the gateway software to make sure I didn't miss anything other than platform.conf. I have the webproxy enabled for the bookmarks channel and that is working. I have holes in the firewall for the proxy, LDAP and HTTPS ports.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Roger S.

    The gateway has to be tuned substantially to get good performance.
    The tuning needs to be based on your load
    e.g how many netlet connections, how many concurrent users you expected to handle etc ..
    the default min heap size and max heap size need to change it. You can go upto a max of 2 Gb but I would recommend starting with a smaller heap size of 500 M and see how your performance goes.
    The min and max heap size should always be the same for better performance. If your using netlets then you have to change the thread parameter. Each netlet connection uses two threads so if your using a large number of netlet connections then your thread count needs to 500 at a minimum to support 200 concurrent netlet sessions. Increasing the thread pool will also use more memory as each thread uses a min of 512 K of memory. The thread stack size needs to be set to 128 K.
    These are the initial things to start with, you can also set jvm option -verbose:gc to enable gc logs. This will show memory usage.
    These are good things to start with ..

  • HT4061 my iPhone suddenly stopped accepting a charge.

    my Iphone stopped accepting a charge last night...I don't know why. The battery display comes up briefly and then goes away...not staying on indicating a charging cycle.
    Does anyone know why? Is this the battery or something else? The charger assembly works fine on my Ipad.

    Try holding both home and power buttons until apple logo appears (ignore on/ off slider) and then let go. No data will be lost.  Wait for phone to restart

    My track pad stopped accepting clicks.  I can move the mouse/cursor although clicking will not register with computer.  Any suggesstions?  HELP!

    If you configure the track pad to accept a double-tap = mouse click - do you still have the problem?
    I had a similar problem with white MacBooks - the mouse button just wouldn't work anymore - got worn out or something. I think that may be why Apple went with the whole trackpad being the mouse button. I never use that though. I much prefer the double tap.

  • Make server stop accepting connections for some condition

    I have a server accepting connections from clients. We don't know in advance how many clients to accept so the server just keeps accepting connections in an infinite loop:
    for( int i = 0; ; ++i)
      server.accept();What needs to happen is some condition has occurred and the server should stop accepting connections. i.e.
    for( int i = 0; stop_accepting_connections == false; ++i)
      server.accept();
    System.out.println( "No longer accepting connection.");Essentially some external event (actually the first accepted client thread) will set stop_accepting_connections to true and break the loop.
    Problem is even when I break out of the loop clients are still accepted. I'm thinking this is caused by server.accept() being a blocking call and even though we've jumped out of the loop the last server.accept() call is still blocking and listening for a single client. I've tried 2 clients connecting when we've broken out of the loop and only the 1st one is accepted, the second just waits.
    1. Is there any way to really stop listening when the condition is set (i.e. how to kill the last blocking accept())? I don't want 1 last trailing client.
    2. For the rejected clients, how do I stop it from just waiting i.e. print some error msg and let it end?

    Problem is even when I break out of the loop clients are still accepted. I'm thinking this is caused by server.accept() being a blocking call and even though we've jumped out of the loop the last server.accept() call is still blocking and listening for a single client.No, it's caused by the TCP 'backlog' queue, which pre-accepts connections even before you call accept().
    1. Is there any way to really stop listening when the condition is set (i.e. how to kill the last blocking accept())?Close the ServerSocket. The thread blocked in accept() will get a SocketException: socket closed, which you should trap and proceed acordingly on. At this point you probably just want to exit the accept() thread.
    2. For the rejected clients, how do I stop it from just waiting i.e. print some error msg and let it end?See above. Any clients which are in the backlog queue will get some kind of SocketException or IOException, probably 'connection reset'.

  • SSLServerSocket that only accepts client connections from localhost

    My end goal is to create an SSLServerSocket that will only accept client connections requested by localhost.
    I've tried creating a new SocketPermission:
    p1 = new SocketPermission("localhost:1024-65535", "listen,connect,accept")I am able to add it to a custom Policy's PermissionCollection, but it doesn't seem to work. I believe SecurityManager.checkAccept() only checks the host's name and not the client's...
    This following code works and illustrates what I'm trying to achieve, but I'd like it to happen before the socket is actually accepted:
    SSLSocket socket = (SSLSocket)m_sslServerSocket.accept();
    Strintg clientIP = socket.getSession().getPeerHost();
    if( !clientIP.equals( "127.0.0.1" ) & !clientIP.equals( InetAddress.getLocalHost().getHostAddress() )
        // reject connection
    }Any help is appreciated.
    Edited by: misterE on Oct 24, 2007 10:46 PM

    I'm not clear whether you are doing this Permission thing on the server side or the client side, and/or whether you have a SecurityManager installed.
    If the server only has SocketPermission("localhost:...", "listen,connect,accept") it should only accept connections from localhost, not from B. So I don't know why the first scenario worked.
    If the server only has this SocketPermission with some other hostname, it shouldn't be able to listen at any port. So I don't know why the first scenario worked.
    Unless there is no security manager installed.
    You can run it with -Djava.security.debug=access,failure to see what permission checks are being executed.
    BTW because connections are accepted by the TCP stack before permission checking takes place, as described above, the client won't get a ConnectionException if the permission is refused at the server: it will get most probably a SocketConnection: connection reset by peer when writing to the server.

    Hi Jason
    I was getting the same behavior after Apple support had me delete some plist files to get Airplay going. I was also getting the following error:
    the error occurred while processing a command of type 'writesettings' in the plug-in 'server vpn'
    I went into ~/Library/Preferences/ and /Library/Preferences/ and deleted every plist contating the word server. I had to re-set up my server (meaning walk through some intial steps) but all of my settings were still there after that and everything started working again.
    Just a thought, obviously try at your own risk but it worked for me.
