When I dock my ipod touch into my Bose speakers, the 365LiveRadio APP doesn't work. It buffers and doesn't connect.
    Why ?

Audio through a dock connection is at line level, also called line out.  Line level volume is not adjustable.  You need to change the volume using the controls on the iHome device, or its remote.

Can we stream Music to Bose speakers thru apple TV

Welcome to the Apple Community Sam.
If they have an optical input and a volume control, then there shouldn't be any reason why not.

  • HT4587 Hi, I want to set up a sound system in a new house using apple equipment. I have few sets of Bose speakers that I would like to utilise, my question is - what do I need to set it up and how do I do it with regards to  AirPlay? Thanks

Hi, new to the forums and apple tbh.
Moving into a new house and want to set up a sound system, thought apple would be the way to go as I have iPads, iPhones, iPod touch and nanos. I also have a few sets of Bose speakers which I would like to incorporate. What I am wondering is, what else do I need to buy to do this? Do I need seperate devices to attach to each speaker? Do I need a new router? And how would I configure it?
Ideally I would like 4 rooms each with their own speakers that could play simultaneously.
    Thanks in advance!!!!

First, please check out the following Apple Support article for details on setting up an AirPort Express Base Station (AX) for iTunes streaming. Note: You will need a separate AX for each set of speakers that you want to stream to. Also, note that you can stream a single audio file to one or more speakers, but you cannot stream separate audio files to different speakers simultaneously.
Second, the Bose speakers you mentioned would need to have an audio input jack, either analog or optical digital to receive the stream from the AX. As you know, Bose makes a number of different speaker/home theatre audio options. If your specific model of speakers do, then it's just a matter to use the appropriate audio cable between the audio port of the AX and the speakers.

I'm not sure what you mean. You can't find the express to set it up.. or you can't find the network created by the express?

  • I cannot get my Bose speakers to work.  They are plugged correctly and not in the headset jack

I have a new iMac 21.5 inch Led. 16.9 widescreen computer.  I purchased Bose speakers.  They are set up correctly and plugged in the back of the monitor in the correct slot (not headset slot) and I cannot get sound through  the Bose speakers.  I have tried the speakers on another computer and they work properly.  Can you help?

Hi. If the speakers are using a standard 3.5mm plug, they need to be plugged into the headphone jack. Please clarify which jack you are using.

  • Apple TV & Airport Express - Bose speakers

I bought the most recent Apple TV and Airport Express and had my Bose speakers hooked them wirelessly. The volume when watching movies from Netflix or Hulu Plus or just the TV is not as strong as it used to be when I had the older version of both devices.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
select the express as AirPlay speakers in the AirPlay options under settings on the Apple TV.

I have no idea< sorry  the speaker connects wirelessly through my office network.  there is a usb drive plugged in to computer and i can put the speakers anywhere in the office
Do you mean a USB adapter to send audio to the speakers?
You would need to use the audio control panel to send the computer audio to this output device.

  • Static / Bad Connection for External Bose Speakers?

    Hello Everyone;
I recently bought a new 24" iMac and bought a set of Bose Companion speakers to go with it. I've plugged them into the headphones jack using the cable provided by Bose, but my sound quality is really bad. Theres a lot of static in the music, and by moving the 1/8' male connector that plugs into my iMac around or touching it while music is playing causes more static or sound failure - making me think it may be the connection at the computer. On the other hand, I'm not quite sure if the cable I'm using is an "optical digital audio out port" as described in the Mac manual. I haven't seen an optical digital 1/8" cable, so this is making me think the cable is the problem. The speakers run spdif out to 1/8".
So before I take my mac to have it looked at, does anyone have any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong, or should be doing and or using differently? Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks;

    Hi Steve,
I have exactly the same problem with my new iMac and my Bose Companion speakers (the ones with the 2 small cubes and a sub). The Bose speakers do not use a digital audio connection - so using Toslink would not be the answer.
I double-checked the connection on the back of the iMac and found that I was able to push the plug in a little bit more (it sort of clicked into place) - and that definitely helped some. As long as nobody touches it, it runs static-free....but even the slightest touch on the cable (or even the iMac sometimes) results in horrible static.
I'm considering trying another set of speakers because of this issue. I'm calling Bose tech support tomorrow because of this issue to see if they have any suggestions. I'll post back if I get any good info from them.

  • Why is there a line at the top of my computer screen

why is there a line at the top of my brand new macbook pro? it goes right through the top of the grey bar where the date time and everything is located?

Don't know.  Ask Apple when you send the computer back to them!
You have 14 days from the date of purchase to return your computer with no questions asked.

Yeah because I am sure there is a huge difference with the antenna 2" below he top, and where is the phone when I am talking on it, that's right, next to my head.
Most of the time I use speaker phone or the headset though. Hate having to hold the phone up to my ear. Only really do that for short calls.
Ohhhh I agree I think its stupid but who knows maybe the FCC has some reason. Doesn't matter I'll have carpel tunnel in my hands when I'm older from texting and typing on the computer so much haha

Where are you importing from – a camera or computer? If you are optimizing at import, make sure the background processes are completed. (Command-9)
