Why do my contact photos keep getting assigned to the wrong person/number?
This has happened to me twice recently: my phone rings and the wrong contact photo appears with the wrong phone number. All my contact photos are assigned to the wrong person/phone number. Any ideas on what's going on? Thanks!

Can I get this straight in my mind? Does this mean that I will have to put ALL the photos stored on my Laptop into ONE large folder, then divide it up into sub-folders? Then I can copy each sub-folder?
Sorry to sound stupid, but most things I try on my ipod don't seem to work for me. I think I am getting a bit old for all this.....lol.
.......Actually thinking back, a while back I did click on my main folder called "Nikon" and that did copy everything in it, but just in one whole lot, ie 1,000 photos.........................so nothing was sub-divided into folders, ie. holiday 2010, holiday 2011. Is that another problem I have created for myself?

Music keeps getting moved to the wrong folder
I use my external hard drive (E:) as my iTunes folder and most of the time it works just swimmingly. However, for some reason, it seems almost randomly the music will get moved to the iTunes music folder on my C drive.
The music is still indexed, but I don't want it taking up space on my C drive. Is there a way to stop this from happening? Thanks for your help :-)Thanks for you reply, she already has her own account and wants to back her own contacts up to the cloud, we have tried turning both contacts off in icloud settings, also deleting from phone when prompted, then, we also deleted all her icloud backups to start a fresh. However soon as she turns contacts back on.. Bam they re appear. We also have ipad in the mix so we did the same to that, turned off and deleted contacts on there also to no avail. Somehow they are linked to my acount just cant work out how or where?

Why does that same photo keep appearing in the edited folder????
Why is that same photo always mysteriously appear in the edited folder whenever a photo is added to camera roll????? If I happen to take a picture on my iPad, then if I go to iPhoto, there is this one stubborn picture that mysteriously appears in the edited folder. When I try to revert it to original so I can get it out from the edit folder, it's not highlighted. So what I do is actually edit it then revert it to original, then it disappears. However if I go back to the iPad camera and take a picture or just save a picture from safari that same stubborn photo reappears in iPhoto edit folder when I launch the app. If that's not a bug, then what is????

Sounds like someone ripped the movie off of YouTube and it got corrupted in the process. Try getting the movie file again, or try using an alternative movie player such as VLC: http://www.videolan.org

I keep getting this message:
The photos have been placed in the folder /users/debbiecampbell/pictures/iphtot librry recovered photos_11. 68 photos found in iphoto library that were not imported. Everytime I open iPhoto I get this message. I have deleted the recovered folders numerous times. A new one is made each time I open iPhoto.Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for a Folder called 'Import' or 'Importing'.
Drag it to the Desktop. *Make no other changes*.
Start iPhoto. Does that help?
If it does then look inside that folder on your desktop. Does it contain anything you want? If not you can trash the folder.

What's up with the iPhone update server. I have repeatedly tried in recent days to update the IOS software on my wife's 3GS iPhone but keep getting message that the iPhone update server cannot be contacted. The phone syncs normally and I am sure I am connected to the internet properly. Also I have successfully updated ITunes software during this same time frame. What gives??

Error 1004, 1013, 1638, 3194: These errors may be the result of the connection to gs.apple.com being redirected or blocked. Follow these steps to resolve these errors:
Install the latest version of iTunes.
Check security software. Ensure that communication to gs.apple.com is allowed. Follow this article for assistance with security software. iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.
Check the hosts file. The restore will fail if there is an active entry to redirect gs.apple.com. Follow iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting to edit the hosts file or revert to a default hosts file. See section "Blocked by configuration: (Mac OS X/Windows) > Rebuild network information".
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service. -
My computer crashed and I have to buy a new one. What happens to my Contacts, Photos, etc when i use the new computer? I do not have an iTunes backup.
Do you have the iCloud set up? If you don't you need to buy a third party software that will do it for you when you plug your phone into the new computer. You can google: iPad/iPhone/iPod to Computer Transfer. You have to pay for the software but it's really a life saver and you get free updates for life. It'll save you a lot of pain and suffering in the future. I've used it many times.

Sometimes, you have to go deeper into the settings and check the outgoing mail server setting as well, especially, if you cannot send mail.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional -
My ios update keeps getting stuck on the Restoring iPhone software stage. I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it again, but still nothing. Now I can't even use my phone as it shows the plug into iTunes screen. Please help!!!! Thanks,
A Restore first downloads a new copy of iOS to your computer. On a slow Internet connection this can take a long time. How fast is your connection? How long would you expect it to take to download 900 MB?
That's assuming nothing is interfering with the download. Some firewalls and antivirus programs will block the download or slow it down. So you should temporarily disable your security software. Security software can also block the update after the iOS download is complete. -
I keep getting a message "The MobileMe IMAP server ... rejected the password for ...." I can use that password when I go to iCloud (and to this discussion), but my e-mails won't download to my computer. What's the mix-up?
If the setting is greyed out perhaps you have restrictions enabled that would prevent someone from changing accounts. Settings>General>Restrictions>Allow Changes>Accounts.

Here are a few more details. I put in a game cd for a windows computer, once I opened the folder on the desktop I noticed the install application was .exe so I tried to eject the cd but no matter what I tried on the computer it wouldn't come out. I will say though that I didn't try the manual cd eject cause I didn't have anything small to hit the button in the cd drive with. It was getting late so we decided to just turn off the computer and leave it for the next day. I can't remember if we turned the computer off with apple shut down or by holding down the power button but we walked away pretty quickly before it was fully shut down. The next day the computer won't turn on. When I walked into the room I was the computer stuck with a grey background with the apple logo showing and the circular thing under it frozen. Since no one was in the room I held down the power button and turned the computer off. We tried to start the computer again later but again it keeps getting stuck at the same spot. Now when we hold the power button down to turn it off I'm not sure if it's really turning off all the way. The screen goes dark but it sounds like the fan is still going. I tried disconnecting everything but the keyboard and mouse but when I started it up again it got stuck on the grey screen with just the apple logo. I'd really apprechiate help on this cause I live in Germany right now and support call centers work so much worse when you don't speak the language well... Thanks for any help you can give!
Restart your computer while holding down left mouse key. That will eject the CD and your Mac will start as normal.
