Well, if you no longer sync contacts with iCloud, that means that anyone else using your Apple ID for iCloud will no longer have access to your contacts.

Why does iPhoto/Aperture keep deleting photo sets from my Flickr account or keep placing whole sets back into the Pending stage of uploading the photos. This is becoming very frustrating and extremely time consuming. Any help would be most welcome

Has anyone got any idea as to why Iphoto/aperture keeps deleteing my photo sets from my Flickr account without warning or reason given. Also when I enter my sets the program will revert all of the photos back to the Pending stage of the up oading process. One or two photos I could live with but some of my set are in excess of 1500 photos per set, and this becomes very very time consuming to re upload them. and whats more annoying on some occassions after spending 12 to 16 hours re uploading them I find that they have all been duplicated. Is there a Bug with Iphoto or Aperture????????

I am using Iphoto version 9.5.1, and No I am not deleting any photo from any file. what happens is this :- I open up Iphoto and enter my flickr account via the shared folder icon on the left hand side of the screen this is when I get a pop up screen from Iphoto informing me that they have removed a SET of photos from my Flickr account (no reason given) when i go into that set all I can see is dashed empty square where the photo used to be. I will then get another pop up screen saying that Iphoto can no longer access my flickr account and will I permit a reconnection and allow Iphoto to access my flickr account (add pass words etc) when I get back into flickr the SETS have gone and all other photos enter the Pending stage again. After re uploading the missing photos I find that some 50% of them have been duplicated.

as i was texting one of my friends lats night i noticed that all the sudden her name didnt show up but her number insted.
i went to check on my contacts and found only a few names and none of them i regonnised
i then loged into icloud and went to contacts
i found the same strange contacts there
then i decided to restore my phone to backup
that solved the problem and all my contacts were fine... for a few seconds
the very next time i looked at my phone the contacts were strange again
i even tryed restoring again and quickly turning off icloud and that kinda worked but i noticed that almost half of my contacts were mising already
how do i refresh the contacts in icoud from the contacts in the backup in my itunes?
why did this happen? Is there an action i could have taken to prevent this from happening?

Why are modified contacts being deleted?

I have a lot of duplicates in my iPhone 4S and for the last two days, I painstakingly added twitter info, addresses, Facebook IDs and other information to some of the frequently used contacts. Let's say about 20 contacts (I have thousands of contacts with thousands of duplicates). I was pleased with the way iPhone contacts app is built and I didn't think much about until a friend called an I noticed his name was not appearing on the screen. I later realised that every contact that I had modified by adding or deleting duplicates (20 of them) were stripped off of all the information that I had added and only a few details were left. Funnily, the duplicates didn't come back either. I have a backup of all my contacts on Smartr app so I am not worrying about the loss of data but I am disappointed and angered that contacts app has a mind of its own! Interestingly I haven't even synced the phone to iTunes. I am really confused why the contacts that I modified are tampered by the software. What can I possibly do? Can't I ever use the native contacts app to modify and delete contacts?

Do you have your Contacts set to "On" for iCloud? Not sure why what is happening to you is happening, but if you do have them on for the Cloud, then even if you haven't sync'd to iTunes, there would be syncing going on with the Cloud...
I would suggest switching the Contacts to Off on your phone, doing the updates, then switching back on again.

Why firefox 29 is keep deleting my cookies? Also, where is the clear on exit option now?

All I have in the options is a list of stored cookies to delete, that's fine, but with every session closed I lose my cookies from various sites. I would really like to have the option to keep those, is getting annoying to set over and over all the preferences. I can't describe in words how disappointed I am right now, Chrome looks like the only option. I'm getting tired of all this switch back and forth from one browser to another! With every update is getting worse, how come firefox turned from hero to a common problem?

Thank you very much, this would probably solve my problem, but I preferred to reset the whole thing, rewrote my bookmarks and favorite add-ons in a file and start from scratch.
It's weird, though, some cookies are still removed after the session close. From my tests Firefox has problems with cookies that don't have the expire date set and completely ignores the ones with secure:true. It must be a security reason, I won't go deeper.
I appreciate your support, it works fine, I hope it won't update again without my approval.

Contacts keep deleting

My contacts have been deleted for the third time in one week. I haven't clicked anything to make this happen what has happened in the past is I will be texting someone then once I get a response and look at it the number pops up and not the persons name. Then when I check my address book all of my contacts are gone. I have tried to do backup but for some reason it doesn't give me the option to restore my contacts. So I need help please!

It can certainly be frustrating to have your contacts deleted. I can correct this issue for you. I need additional information to provide you the best solution. When did this issue start? Have you downloaded any new applications on your phone which may have caused this to happen. Have you updated the software on your device? Did this occur after the software update?
Are your contacts saved on your Google account or the Backup Assistant?
If they are saved on your Google account, you may restore then by following the steps below:
- Menu
- Settings
- Accounts & Sync
- Select G-mail account
- Sync Now (confirm that Auto-sync is checked)

I updated my iPhone to iOS 5.0.1. I lost all my contacts when I went to open the app. They were there, but then they disappeared. Put some back in, and lost those! Is there any way this could be related to a virus on Facebook?

My iPhone 3Gs periodically loses all contacts. I restore them from a backup, and a short time later, they are gone again. I do not have iCloud turned on. (Tried it, hated it, turned it off.) Any idea what's going on? The only possible clues I have are:
1. Once in awhile, just before contacts go away, the phone seems to turn itself off, then back on again. But I'm not positive about the timing of that.
2. I use Pandora all the time, and the problem may have occurred while Pandora was doing something. Again, not positive, just suspicious.

Im having somewhat the same thing.. I have a iphone 4 and for some reason it is deleting certain contacts. Funny thing is when you look at those contacts in message the msg's are there but the names are gone and there is a +1 infront of their numbers... Have tried everyth8ng short of wiping my cell clean... So frustrating... not being able to fix this..Oh and I have tried manually readding those contacts and within mins they disappear again...

Clearly I have pushed some buttons. I have registered my frustration with regards to my MobileMe subscription and my post has been deleted 3 times now.

As you now realise complaining in certain ways is likely to lead to deletion of posts. But you do not need to say that you love the product. All you need to do is to say what you have just said:
'My problems are a-b-c, what can I do to fix them?'
The more information you give about your system, what you are doing, what you have tried, any results or error pages etc the more likely you are to get good answers.
These are user to user forums for technical questions to which you are likely to get helpful answers from experienced users so it is worth your while to stay within the rules and keep your annoyance out of posts.
Dave Sawyer has given you the link for the best way of conatcting Apple directly, but even there I would suggest you stand a better chance of success if you stick to facts rather than introducing emotion.

Only some delete i think its because the ones that dont delete are on icloud because they are contacts that i have in common with my mom who is part of my icloud.
i just need to know how to make the rest of them stay, they just randomly delete and im left with the numbers and no names in my message inbox.

right i presume this is the 5310 xpress music? but yeah sooo if its whats happening to mine at the moment you could need to update the firmware, mine keeps crashing and reverting to a previous setting, i dont know how it 'decides' what settings to go to but it changes sometimes so you should try that.
