Why do my documents disappear on my device when I delete my iCloud account?

Why do my documents disappear on my iPad when I delete my iCloud account.  I don't want to sync all the aps from my iPhone to my iPad, so I deleted my iCloud account on my iPad, but all my documents disappeared from my iPad.  How can I get them back??

To access documents in the cloud, the iCloud account needs to be setup.
If you don't want all apps to automatically sync to your iPad, just turn that option off in Settings > Store

  • HT204053 How can I delete an icloud account on a particular device?

I had bought an Ipda and signed in with my apple id/icloud id. I have recently given that ipad to my mom and got another one for myself. I want her to keep that apple id and iclould account and i want to create a new icloud id for myself on my new device. The problem is on the new device i had already signed in with my icloud id and apple id. Is there a way to delete the icloud id account on the new device and sign in with another one without deleting all of the content in the cloud so my mom doesn't lose anything on her ipad? i dont mind if things get deleted from the new ipad i am using.
    thank you!

Sure, on your device, just go the the iCloud account in settings, select it, then choose delete at the bottom.  That removes it form your device, but does nothing to the iCloud account itself.  Other than mail, nothing will change on your device, and absolutely nothing will change on your Mom's device.
Now log back in with your new AppleID and it will create a new iCloud account for your device.
If you had a backup of your device in the old iCloud account, your Mom can go into her storage settings on her iCloud account on her device and delete your backup file (or you could delete it from your device before you delete that iCloud account).

  • On my iPad, if I deleted the iCloud account that I am signed in with, does it delete the entire account (even on other devices)? And would that also delete the apps on the iPad downloaded with that iClouds account?

They were initially setup with the smae Apple ID but when you delete the iCloud account from the phone you disassociate iCloud items on your phone.
If you want to rid the device of the Apple ID completely you will need to sign out in seceral places:
Settings > iCloud > Delete Account
Settings > Messages > Turn off iMessage
Setings > FaceTime > Turn off FaceTime
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID > Sign out
Settings > Game Center > Apple ID > Sign out
Note: You can keep the iTunes & App Stores sign in to share purchases without any effect on anything else
You should consider getting your own Apple ID.

Because you are trying to go to icloud.com using Safari on your iPad.  You have to go to icloud.com from your computer browser.

  • I made a new Apple ID and I want to delete my iCloud account on my iPhone, will it delete only documents or data or it will reset my whole iPhone?

I made a new Apple ID and I want to delete my iCloud account on my iPhone, will it delete only documents or data or it will reset my whole iPhone, like deleting my apps, contacts. Please I need your help.

All you have to do is this: Sync your 3GS to create a current backup. Then either: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings or restore it as a "New" device in iTunes. Both accomplish the same thing, erasing all of your data & settings from the phone. You can now give it to your sister, she can plug it into her computer, name it what she wants & sync her content to it. You then restore your 4S from the backup of the 3GS you created when you started. Follow this by syncing your content to your new phone & your 4S will look just like your 3GS.

Why am I hearing commercials on iTunes radio when I have a match account?

    Hi, Kilowatts05.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you have subscribed to iTunes Match and you still hear commercials when using iTunes Radio.  The usual cause for this would be that iTunes Match is not enabled on the device that is allowing the commercials.  You also must be in the United States or Australia for this option to become available.

  • HT5616 I have multiple phones and iPads and all are linked to one iCloud account and one iTunes Account.  I want to keep the same iTunes Account so I can share music, etc., however, I want each device to have its own iCloud account.  How do I do this?

I have multiple phones and iPads and all are linked to one iCloud account and one iTunes Account.  I want to keep the same iTunes Account so I can share music, etc., however, I want each device to have its own iCloud account.  Any help on how I can I do this?

You'll need to create an Apple ID for each device. Use the new Apple ID for FaceTime, iMessage and iCloud on the device. Use the original Apple ID for Settings>iTunes & App Store.

  • What will happen to the information on iCloud, if I delete the iCloud account on one device?*

My iPad I have inherited from my wife. I wish to delete her iCloud account on my iPad and connect it to my existing iCloud account. If I delete her iCloud account from my IPad will the information on her iCloud account be disrupted (lost)?

No.  Deleting the account will only delete the account from the iPad, not from iCloud.  Her devices won't be effected by this.  When you delete the account, you will need to provide the password (if using iOS 7).  You will then be given the option to delete the iCloud data from the iPad.
However, if she is giving the iPad to you, it's best to completely erase the device by going to Settings>General>Reset and tapping Erase All Content and Settings.  That will remove the iCloud account as well as unregister it for iMessage, FaceTime, etc.  You can then go through the setup screens as if it were a new iPad.

  • HT4847 If you have several Apple devices feeding to the same iCloud account, is there an amount of storage made per device available free?  So that you are rewarded for the additional devices?

If you have several Apple devices feeding to the same iCloud account, is there an amount of storage made per device available free?  So that you are rewarded for the additional devices?
If this multi purchase if devices is not rewarded with a larger cloud storage being available, would it then be best to have several separate cloud accounts?
Would you lose the ability to mesh data between devices???  Of could you choose to share a smaller part of the data and yet save the rest of the device data to their own cloud?  So in other words, split a devices stored data between 2 different icloud accounts?   One community iCloud account for partial data and individual account for data that does not need to be shared with the other devices, however it needs to be backed up.  The simpler solutions would be If you have several Apple devices feeding to the same iCloud account, an amount of storage made available per device (ie: 5 units of storage free per device)
~ So that you are rewarded for the additional Apple devices by giving 5 more units of storage or backup space per device

Nobody here is an Apple employee, and my Christmas Season has been great, thanks very much. Neither am I jealous, I just abhor the fact that so many people these days expect more and more for free, in addition to what they already get for free. First world problems...
Obviously Apple do consider people with multiple devices, since the whole purpose of the service is to keep data in sync across multiple devices. Clearly, after consideration, Apple decided to give 5GB of storage for free and provide customers with the option to buy more storage if they want/need more, in line with competing services.
Everyone has their own set of unique circumstances but does that mean everyone should be rewarded with extras for free? At what point should it be considered acceptable to actually pay for additional extras you want?
And by the way, somebody expressing a different opinion, and discussing people's expectations is not being rude. Aren't you from the country that supposedly takes 'freedom of speech' rather seriously?

  • Why can't I delete an iCloud account, I think we should have that option, this is ridiculous.

I worry about my information floating around some server through Icloud when I don't want it there. Apple should provide a way to completely delete an icloud account from everywhere - devices, the web etc. If I had known that I wouldn't have this option, I would have never signed up for one considering all the trouble icloud has caused me. It keeps losing my contacts etc. Am I the only one that is annoyed and frustrated by this?
I can delete an account from my iphone 5s but not from the internet. ***?

You can't delete the actual account. In part this is probably to prevent the address from becoming available again and someone else grabbing it and pretending to be you. You can go to the website and delete all your data there so that it's empty, and then just ignore it.

  • I have only 1 ipad device, can I create 2 icloud accounts for the same ipad?

I have only 1 ipad device, can I create 2 icloud accounts for the same ipad?

    Of course.
To create the first iCloud account, open Settings > iCloud, type your Apple ID and follow the steps to set up iCloud.
Then, to add a second iCloud account, open Settings > Mail, Contacts & Calendars > Add Account > iCloud, type the second Apple ID and set up iCloud for this Apple ID.
Note that one iCloud account will work as the primary account and the other one as the secondary account. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4020

Nothing deletes from cloud, just photo stream is reset and starts over on that device if you sign in again  everything else stays in.

    Hello Jbug0409,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you’re running into an Apple ID password issue on your iPod touch, and you’ve created another account which you weren’t able to verify because you didn’t receive the verification email.
Try resetting the Apple ID password for the account that’s already on your iPod touch as shown here:
If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support
Also, take a look at this article which provides troubleshooting suggestions that’ll resolve most issues receiving verification emails.

  • If I delete the iCloud account from an iPhone am I deleting permanently or only on the device?

I am using my mum's old iPhone with her iCloud account. if I delete it from there am I deleting permanently or only on the device?

I would also like to know the same thing, but according to a post i have about my stolen iphone the responder said you can't delete an icloud account and it will always be in the icloud. below is the answer I recieved about still being able to sign into my icloud account after my phone has been stolen three months later(cause I was led to believe your credentials leave your phone after it is wiped by a thief, therefore one would think you couldn't sign in anymore and still try to track your phone although says constantly offline) but gathering from what this person has said to me it sounds like your just deleting it from the device. I don't know if this answer helps you, but i hope it does
Your iCoud account remains in iCloud even if your device is restored.  (In fact, you can't delete an iCloud account from iCloud, you can only choose to stop using it.)  If the device is restored, or it may no longer be signed into your iCloud account but your account will still exist in iCloud.
