Why do my finder links expand at the bottom of the screen when I roll over them?

I turned my computer back on and now my finder buttons on my bottom menu bar (where iTunes, safari etc. is) expand to enlargen each app when I roll over them. How did this happen? How do I stop it?

Open System Preferences>Dock...and make the appropriate selections to match your Dock preferences.

Easy-these are just aliases. Do a cloverleaf+F/command+F (Find) and they should appear. Either create an alias and drag it to the dock-or there's an "add to Dock" command in the Finder. so click on whichever app you'd like to add to the Dock, then add to Dock and it should appear there. If something isn't in the Dock that doesn't mean it's gone for good. It's just an alias

Suddenly i do not get the "download complete" popup at the bottom of my screen when i download anything..also,download "box" at top left changed..why?

up until yesterday,every time i would download anything,i would get a "popup" at the bottom right side of my screen saying "download complete"...now i don't see that..also,when i click on my downloads option in my "tools" at the top right,the box that appears has changed in how it looks..it still shows my downloads,but the appearance of the box has changed..neither of these issues is any "biggie"..lol..nothing to fret over..but i would just like to know why this has happened suddenly if i made no changes to my firefox..anyone????

It is best to use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.

The Windows XP links tool bar at the bottom of the screen now hides the last line or lines of the browser screen. Why? (V3.6.16)

I use V 3.6.16 and since a recent update, it looked as if I'd lost a line or two at the bottom of the screen. What happened is that the Windows task bar showing quick launch icons, links to running programs (tabs) and the clock, etc., now obscures the last few lines of the browser display. This is since approximately a week. I assume it's due to FF updates rather than to WinXP but of course I don't know. I don't see a problem with other programs. In particular, IE doesn't do it which makes me think it's an issue with FF and it's new. I looked for something under options I could change but couldn't find one. Anyone have an idea?

Why have Link previews been moved to the bottom of the page? I have a toolbar on my my site and my users cant see it because the link preview is obscuring it...

Well as I can see from other questions asked people are already aware that when you hover over a link the link preview appears at the bottom of the page instead of the status bar.

Well thats fine for me to do that but what about the users who come to my site and cant see my toolbar at the bottom because the link preview (with a long URL) is obscuring it? I cant tell them to go and install an addon, what bright spark thought of this I find it very disrupting.

Why do html page links on iweb suddenly start opening the pages at bottom not top?

Why do html pointer to pages open those pages at the bottom not the the top on a web page I am working on with iWeb. Software seems a bit flakey as sometimes if I close the site down and then reopen it all is ok. Any ideas? Thanks. Sean

Okay, I figured out the problem with those certain links not working on www.calgaryyouthrally.com. The grey background was apparently covering the links somehow on the first and last pages of the site (due to its becoming enlarged in IE8). I made some changes and took care of that problem.
But, the enlarged grey background is bugging me. It is acceptable in Firefox and Safari. But in IE8 the grey extends well beyond the actual size that I made it. The grey shape with the white picture frame around it is what I have made in iWeb. But in IE8 the grey is extending well beyond the white picture frame border. What can I do to fix this? Any ideas? Again, the site is www.calgaryyouthrally.com.

When I receive emails why doesn't the mail icon on the bottom of the home page indicate I have mail. Only after I go into my mail do I find out I have mail. My Blackberry always indicated when I received new emails.

I was wondering if the mail icon on the bottom of the home screen ever indicates that I have mail. It isn't indicating and only after I open up my mail does it show that I have received emails. Is there any type of indicator that is supposed to be on the mail icon that shows I have mail? Thanks

Mail starts up wherever you last left it, or should do without any changing of settings.

I am trying to change my billing address in my itunes store account, but itunes is not allowing me to do this. At the bottom of the page, I only get the 'cancel' button, no 'done' button to make changes. I am using an HP mini, and am a registered US itunes account holder, living outside the US right now (East Timor to be precise).
Why won't the store let me change my info? I'm not having any other problems.

How do I get rid of the very annoying "find" tab that appears on the bottom of the page constantly???

Whenever I try to type "anything anywhere", even after I have clicked on the appropriate place to search, a search box appears on the bottom of the page with a "find" option, and my search goes there instead of the actual place it should go to. Every time I have to X out of that box; and next time I search for something same problem happens.
This is a VERY annoying feature, and I have not been able to disable it. I am not sure why you have created such feature, and what you are trying to accomplish.

You have probably turned on an accessibility feature, if so that is easily turned off again

Why is the div sitting at the bottom of the page?

Can anyone tell me why the div <div id="maindiv" class="maindiv_scroll"> is sitting at the bottom of the page?

I have not tested this BUT most probably the scrollbar on the central <div> is making the width of the <div> wider than the space it has to fit itself into so the <div> is being thrown to the next available space, at the bottom of the construction. Below I have commented out the overflow: scroll; - see what effect it has, if any.

I don't want to be the bringer of bad news (again) but you really are getting into a bit of a mess. This is largely down to excessive css. When it gets to that amount of css you should try breaking it down, ie you could put the mainnav css into its own linked css file and that gets that out of the way, making troubleshooting a bit less of a nightmare.
Also you are mixing fixed width with percenatge width. I don't have a lot of experience with that but it's not as easy as using all percentages or all fixed width. Obviously in this case you need the percentages as it's a responsive construction so why are you fixiing the left navigation and the right sidebar.
It would be better to set those as percentages and float all the <divs> left in my opinion.
