Why do my homepage settings change to a site I do not want every time I shutdown Firefox - EVEN THOUGH I have gone through the process of saving the site I really want?

I am desparate to set my homepage to http://www.google.co.uk/ig?hl=en
However, even after manually setting it to the site I want, every time I restart Firefox it has reverted to http://www.searchqu.com/406
I have tried every solution that I have found in Firefox help, but to no avail.
I have only recently changed to Firefox and am impressed with the way it works with this one exception, which is driving me mad.
PLEASE, PLEASE can anyone out there help?

Thanks for the reply. I never get the option to "Restore Previous History" from History. I don't even have the box checked that asks to delete the history when Firefox closes. I don't know what's wrong, no matter what, I always lose everything. I have the box marked "Show my windows and tabs from last time" for when I open Firefox, but it never shows that, just my homepage. Also, when I check my History, it only shows the pages that I opened since I started Firefox, nothing from before. Even if I were to open up 10 pages now, close Firefox, and open it, the history would only show the homepage that opened this time, not any of the 10 pages that I opened 5 minutes ago.

Thank you for answering my question. After taking the screen shot I started thinking "maybe it's one of the add-ons that I downloaded!!!" So I turned off the "Yahoo! Notifier" add-on, and sure enough "poof-it never appeared again"... Thanks for being the guy to get me out of myself and start thinking backwards...(And I really don't need that add-on anyway, just seemed cool that's all)... Thanks again timc...!!!

Make sure that Firefox closes properly and that that there are no longer Firefox or plugin-container processes left on the Processes tab in the Task Manager. Otherwise session restore will reopen the page(s) from the previous session.

My iPad will show a cellular connection even though it is using Wi-Fi as long as I have cellular turned on. Are you sure that your iPad is actually using the cellular instead of Wi-Fi?

I open web pages, such as adobe, and click the button, in this case to download Flash Player and there is no response. I have opened and reviewed the settings for foxfire and have been unable to find anything that might remediate this issue. Additionally, I have also checked the settings in Trend Micro and have uncovered nothing there that would remediate this issue.
Interestingly, the button on this page appear to work quite well.

You may need to turn off the feature of "warning" you about redirects. In some cases Firefox does not display the infobar and just silently blocks the redirect, which I suspect is what is happening on download sites.
To test this theory, open
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the General mini-tab, ''uncheck'' the box for "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page"
Then try the download again (you might need to reload the page before trying again, depending on how the site is designed).

When I view a Numbers document on iPad, even if I make no changes, it gets retransmitted to iCloud. How do I prevent this?
It can be annoying, as I have several ios devices, and I am continually getting messages like "this document was updated on 3 devices; which version do you want to keep?".
Pages doesn't do this.
Numbers didn't used to.
The only unusual thing I have done, was to double click on an ios Numbers document in Finder and edit it on my macbook. That's when all this started, although I don't see the connection.
I keep versions up-to-date on everything.

when i go to Music > Artist > All, as you suggested, i see all the albums i have listed. doesn't really relate to my problem with artists with songs in one album, as well as song w/o album set, and the latter not showing up.
but that reminds me, why is it when i go to the All section from a particular artist and they do have more than one album (or even no albums), the order of the songs is in the order they are in the albums.. if i wanted the order it is on albums, i would have selected that album for example.. it would be nice if the songs were in alphabetical order when you're NOT browsing by album, making a particular song easier to find (what if you have thirteen albums for example and u aren't sure which album a song is on, now you have to scroll through a seemingly random ordered list to find one song, alphabetical would be SOOOO helpful!)

Why am I not allowed to buy Logic Pro X even though I have enough App Store credit to do so?

The problem comes when I hit the "Buy app" button because it keeps getting me to update my billing info. Did you redeem the gift card to your account? If so, if you log into your account information, do you actually see the gift card there? If so, you would need to contact the App Store support team.

I am asked if I want to allow Mozilla to update my hard drive every time I start Mozilla, even after I have said "yes" several times.

I am used to this question coming up each time Mozilla updates, but usually it only comes up once, we click "yes", and all is well. This time it keeps coming up. Yet when I checked, Mozilla says we are up to date. Resetting Firefox also didn't resolve the issue. There aren't any windows updates that are new. So I'm at a loss.

I have gone through the procedure for downloading and installing the latest version of Adobe Flash Player, but still get the same messages when I reopen Firefox and revisit these sites.
There does not seem to be the same problem with Safari, which runs the latest version of Adobe Flash Player with no trouble.
