Why do my movie purchases fail to download?

I don't have any virus protection, ad filter, web accelerators, or firewalls installed on my Mac.  I have tried deleting the files and re- downloading, hitting download repeatedly, resetting my wireless network, restarting my computer, and trying to download from a new account on my Mac.  So far nothing works. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Uptondm,

  • TS1424 How do I cancel an iTunes movie purchase before its downloaded

How do I cancel movie rental purchases before they download as it didn't ask for my apple I'd before it downloaded

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History on your computer.

  • Movie purchases start to download, then quit

This keeps happening to me. I buy a movie (to own or rent) on iTunes, watch it as it downloads, then half way through, iTunes freezes up, in fact, my whole computer pinwheels, then I force a restart. When I boot back up, the movie I was watching (and paid for) is NOT in my iTunes library nor is it recoverable. It's just gone. I get a receipt for it, report the problem, then they load it back into my library for me. What's up with that? This ALWAYS happens, by the way. Not most times. If I'm watching the movie as it downloads, half way through, game over!
Thoughts? I'm 100% up to date and am now running 10.7.2, thought this also happened on 10.6.8 as well.

I think TV and Movie purchases are limited to the device that bought them. Seems to me I read somewhere it was a licensing issue. It will work with music and apps but not movie or tv.

  • HT1657 Rented movie purchased but not downloaded

I keep renting movies on my iPad but then when I go the the movie app, the movie appears in grey, not playable, and it says that the movie needs to be downloaded.
However it appears nowhere neither on the iPad nor on my mac...
    Where is it?
I paid for it and it is not viewable!!

Got a response from apple customer service
Besides the fact that they are reasonably nice or sent me to the FAQ section of the apple site (dooh!!) the best they could do was refund me on my 2 rented but unwatchable movies with credit for my next rentals...
Additional frustration: I need to wait for 2 weeks for the credit to hit my account if I want to redownload these same 2 movies...

  • WiFi Music Store Purchases Fail To Download

My very first attempt to purchase music on my iPhone through the iPhone iTunes WiFi Music App caused, and continues to cause, me much frustration and disappointment.
Background: I purchase music from iTunes on my MacBook Pro just fine, and my iPhone is synced with iTunes from my MacBook Pro and so my iPhone is well aware of my iTunes account info, etc.
After some playing around and experimenting, it seems that I can purchase and download (on my iPhone, using the WiFi iTunes app) "regular" songs just fine, but "iTunes Plus" songs cause a problem. The music I first attempted to purchase was "iTunes Plus", and all attempts to purchase any iTunes Plus music fails in the same manner.
I touch the button to buy, I enter my account password when prompted, the red bubble bounces down onto the Downloads button, and after about 1 full second the red bubble disappears. I touch the Downloads button and there is nothing there. No purchase occurred, and I never get billed. It's as if iTunes Plus songs cannot be purchased on the iPhone using the WiFi iTunes app.
Can anyone please tell me if there is some problem or known limitation? Am I doing something wrong?

Ummm... Thanks, I think, but this didn't address my problem. I'm not a novice user, and I already know everything this article says.
What I do not know, and am having trouble with, is why I cannot purchase and download iTunes Plus content, when "regular" content purchases download without issue. Given that regular content purchases download without issue, it isn't my iPhone, my iTunes account, my WiFi connection -- what is the problem with purchasing and downloading iTunes Plus content reliably?

  • We rented a movie, purchased it and downloaded it.  now a few days later we tried to watch it but there is an "error loading this movie, please try again later" HELP!

Trying to watch a rented movie, but error message says "an error occured loading this content.  please try again later."  How do I fix that?  How much later? would really like to watch our movie

I selected to rent and watch now instead of rent and watch later.  I tried to watch it now and it said it would be available in 6 hours or something silly like that (certainly out of the realm of NOW ) Anyway.... I tried to play it several times and the time it said I had to wait did go down.  5 hours to 3 hours to 2 hours and so on but this was an all day and next day kinda thing.  I guess I was downloading it for 2 days.  I figured id just get up the next day and try again NOW the movie has been removed from the rented section all together.  It's gone...my time is up!!!  I haven't even watched it yet.  It was downloading for 2 days.  I know I can adjust my settings to download a lesser quality and thats fine for NEXT time but I paid $5 to rent a movie that I never started watching because it never finished downloading!  I wonder if because I selected Rent and Watch Now (joke) it assumed even though it was still downloading that it started my time at initial time of purchase?  If so that's crap too.  Anybody have similar experience?

  • Movie purchase did not download

I purchased a movie through my iPhone and I keep getting errors when trying to download. Can I just get the cost credited back to my account -or get a credit where I can download using my AppleTV.
Also, iTunes continues to post a message that I have items available for download, but it does not download when I click on the Download Now button.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

  • Why are my iTunes purchases only partially downloading?

Hello and thanks for the help.  I've purchased multiple songs and albums from iTunes.  Recently, I've downloaded 2 songs from same artist, different albums, and only received a partial download (approximately 17 mins of a 50 min song).  My library is showing that the entire song has dowloaded but stops at the partial minute mark.  How do I access and/or re-dowload entire song?

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the tracks and try redownloading fresh copies.
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • Why are in-app purchases failing?

Hello. I just got an iPhone 5 as an upgrade on my Sprint account, and when I try and do an in-app purchase in HDPlayer (for some codecs for videos to play properly) it tells me that it cannot proceed and that I should go to http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww to contact support. Why is this happening?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Why won't my purchases from iTunes download to my mac pro.  I purchased them from my iPhone and iPad and they won't transfer automatically like they used to.  Is there a recent problem with this?

Is there a problem with itunes today?  I purchased songs form itunes on my ipad and iphone and they didn't transfer to my macpro.  Even when I plug ipad into my mac they still won't download to mac.  There was no problem before today.   Thanks

Yes, I think there is definitely something wrong with iTunes but I don't think it's happened this year - think it was the last update.  If I purchase anything using either my iphone or ipad it doesn't download on my imac.  Not every time just most.  Also, some of my album artwork is messed up.

  • Movies rental fail to download after upgrading to iOS5 on ipad2

I rented 3 movies before upgrading to iOS5. Halfway the process, it stopped, I thought it had finished upgrading. Everything looked the way it used to until I found out that all the contents (music, pictures, movies) hadn't been transferred. So I synced it again. I understand if I have to rent the movies again, which I did, but it won't start downloading into my iPad. Instead, it said 'waiting' and it's been more than 8 hours that it has waited to download. iTunes hasn't charged my account for the second rental yet, but I want to watch the movies. What should I do? Thanks.

To restart your device you just hold the Sleep/Wake button until the "Slide to power off" slider appears, slide it (the device will turn off), wait about 5-10 seconds, then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

  • Os purchase failed to download

    Hi,
I live in Beirut Lebanon, and yesterday evening clicked on buy (ref to OSX Mountain Lion), and it started downloading. In the morning, I found that there was a connection error and the download was idle ( 1/4th was downloaded ).
My question: Will Itunes charge my card, despite not downloading the software yet? I would want to try again tonight; however afraid they might charge me twice ( if they did later on the first attempt ).
    Please advise.
NB. not sure about the OSX I have now. the last OS I bought was snow leopard and have done all updates afterwards, even yesterday when I tried purchasing OSX, it prompt that I should uodate first to have a certain version, and I did .
    Thank you
    Aziz

    Hi again,
I have tried to find the icon again at the bottom of the screen but it was not there, therfore had to click on purchase again and only then the icon apeared yet with  ( OSX MOUNTAIN LION- WAITING). It stayed waiting for over 30 minutes! so I googled the symptom to check if its normal and found that I should resume it from Purchased applications.
On purchased application it was there yet with (An error has occured - in red color). Pressing download only turned the download color to light grey and back to dark grey with no change.
I tried to Cancel the OSX icon at the bottim since it was still waiting, and it worked
Still need to make sure that Itunes will not charge me twice since I pressed buy more than once in 2 days.
I am asking as uptill today my card is not charged for any of the OSX yet.
NB. I did not finish the download yet - will do it over 3 days at night as internet is very slow here.
    Thx

  • "iTunes Plus" Purchases Fail On WiFi iTunes App

This is a more specific subject line for the issue discussed in my prior posting "WiFi Music Store Purchases Fail To Download" -- see prior posting at:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1333843&tstart=0
Can anyone please shed any light on this problem? Is anyone else having the same problem? Is anyone else able to purchase and download "iTunes Plus" content on your iPhone without issue?

Thanks to the person who took the time to understand the posted question and provide a genuine answer - purchase an iTunes song using iTunes on my computer first, which forces iTunes to present the extended iTunes Plus agreement for you to accept, after which you can then sync the iPhone and it picks up the extended agreement and will then work properly to purchase and download iTunes Plus content.
