Why do my scanned photos turn red when I try to edit them in IPhoto?

Why do my scanned photos turn red when I try to edit them in IPhoto?

Assuming these are Black and white, iPhoto still needs an RGB colorspace assigned, it can't work with images that are in B&W colorspace.
Scan in color and de-saturate in iPhoto, if required.

Can you start a new document and then load one of the duotones known to be good in the working file and have it correct? If so, try one of the duotones known to be bad in the working document in the new file. Does it work?
If no to either suggestion, can you share one of the images known to be good and one known to be bad? ZIP 'em up and upload to dropbox and plop a link here. Or, to keep the file sizes down, you can quickly make a new set and provide those.
As well, the ID version and OS info would probably be helpful.

  • Why does the selector label turn red when i try to change it?

I need 6 cases in the case structure. When i try to change the default True label to Zero, I see that it turn red. why is that? and how do i prevent that?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

...or you just created it and the default selector type is boolean. As Dennis said wire a number to it and all will be well with the world.
If you are going to have multiple cases, do you know how to define ranges in the labels? That can be very helpful.

What version of iPhoto and of the OS?
For iPhoto '11 Start by repairing permissions - usually this is a permissions issue - Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - repair your iPhoto permissions

  • My image turns black when I try to edit it in Photoshop CC on Windows 7

I attached a screen recording of what is happening when I try to edit my image in photoshop. I'm trying to make a funny picture for my friend by photoshopping their face onto the surfer but when I try to select the original face to remove it my screen turns black.
If anyone can help me figure out why this is happening I'd really appreciate it!

I've been on the phone with the iPhoto tech support people for half an hour, they have had me do a rebuild and a repair and niether has fixed the problem.  I am mainly concerned about backing up the photos because I am a bad bad computer user and haven't done so yet.  However, when I try to back up onto an external hard drive I am getting errors and the copy isn't going through.   Very much appreciate any help you can provide.

  • Photos disappear when I try to edit them

I have had trouble on and off with my photos disappearing from the screen when I am editing them.  I have tried closing all applications running in the background while editing photos, closing and reopening iPhoto, restarting my computer.  Nothing fixes it. I am currently unable to edit any photos without this happening. What is the problem?

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Why does my itouch (4th gen) crash when I try to edit any of my saved keyboard "shortcuts"?

I have a bunch of saved shortcuts (used mostly for saving kaomoji/smileys) but when I try to delete a saved shortcut, that particular screen always crashes. The same thing happens when I try to delete that particular shortcut as well. Any fixes?

My iPhone is having the same exact problems, and just like Genius Of Apple said, it's only happened with 5.1.1
I have done all of the things you listed, prior to looking up help online, and only to find out that the only help offered is common sense. Apple itself needs to fix the bug, and it's ridiculous that to talk to somebody ABOUT the bug on tech support, ....YOU HAVE TO PAY $30 TO HAVE SOMEONE LISTEN TO YOUR PROBLEM. Apple needs to just FIX their own mistakes. This is obsurd.
I'm very upset that I cannot edit my photos (crop them), it's such a simple thing and Apple probably doesn't even care because "it's a little thing". NO! FIX IT!!!!

  • TS3274 Why do my pictures get larger when I try to use them as wallpaper on my IPAD?

Why do my pictures show up larger when I try to use them as wallpaper on my Ipad?

If you have Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion set 'off' then you will need to use a higher resolution version of your pictures, otherwise the parallax effect will zoom in.
    From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5595 :
When the parallax effect is on, you may notice the following:
Wallpaper, icons, and alerts shift slightly as you move your phone.
When you set a wallpaper in Settings > Wallpapers & Brightness, the photo or image will be slightly zoomed and can't be scaled to fit the screen.
If you zoom in, you will need to rescale your wallpaper to fit to the screen. You can't rescale certain photo formats, including landscape or square images.

IPhoto does not support gray scale. You must use RGB (sRGB) is recommended
Rescan with a color profile or export and change to sRGB and import

  • Why do I get error 150:30 when I try and send a photo to Elements 8?

Why do I  get error 150:30 when I try and send a photo to Elements 8 from a PC with windows8?

My wife had this problem for the past few days for a specific phone number. These instructions fixed it -- without having to restore from backup or contact the carrier.
    http://www.timothydeblock.com/blog/2014/5/12/fix-message-sent-using-invalid-numb er-of-digits-msg-2114
Open Contacts -> select the contact -> select edit -> scroll all the way to the bottom and delete contact (delete multiple entries of the same phone number, my wife had five).
Open the Messages app -> select Edit -> select the red circle and then select delete. Do this for both the person and the messages you received.
Open the Settings app -> scroll down and select Messages -> turn off messages, by selecting the switch, and any other options turned on.
Turn off your phone and then turn it back on.
Go straight to messages and compose a new message and put in the phone number of the person you're trying to text. Send and that person should receive the text message. Add the person to your contacts and go back into message settings to turn on any other options you want on that you turned off.
