Why do my tunes sound robotic after 10.5 upgrade

Ever since I upgraded to 10.5, 75% of my tunes sound robotic and muffled . . .they were fine with 10.5. What can I do?

It's not 100% clear from your post, but you should be aware that CS5 plugins should not work in CS5.5. Because of a CS5.5 bug, CS5 plugins will load in InDesign 7.5.0, but that is fixed in 7.5.1 so they will not load.
You should lean a bit harder on Virginia Systems. They should be able to tell you how to get them the stack trace from the crash which they should be able to look at and tell you which plugin (if any) is responsible for the crash. I could do it for Mac OS X but I don't know how under Windows. You could start by looking at the Event Viewer, though. That may have some helpful information about the crashes and the faulting module.

It sounds like you are unable to use iTunes shortly after launching it. Use the following article to help troubleshoot the issue, named:

Start with this step to isolate 3rd party plugins that may be causing an issue, an use the rest of the troubleshooting if needed.
Start iTunes in Safe Mode
Open iTunes in Safe Mode to isolate any interference from plug-ins or scripts not manufactured by Apple.
Hold down Shift–Control while opening iTunes. You should see a dialog that says "iTunes is running in safe mode" before iTunes finishes starting up.
Click Continue.
See if the issue you're experiencing persists in Safe Mode.
If you have the same issue while iTunes is in Safe Mode, proceed to the "Create a new user account" section. If you don't experience the same issue, follow these steps to remove third-party plug-ins.

why battery is dying too fast after iso5.01 upgrade, It is dying on an average of 13% every hour and a half, in sleep mode. I've tried hard restart and restore in I tunes, no difference! It got worse after I upgraded to 5.01. This has to fixed If I dont use the phone it will need a full charge by noon.

Do a forum search and try some of the suggestions there before starting a whole new thread about battery issues.

Why does the ringtone sound worse AFTER I download it?

I'm having an odd issue. I just bought three ringtones direct on my iPhone 4S from the iTunes 'Tones' section, and when I set them as ringtones and preview them on the phone they sound really crappy. When I previewed them in the 'Tones' section and streamed them the sound was full and clear. Any ideas?

I have exactly the same problem, the best way of describing the problem is that the ringtones sound very tinny, possibly distorted like they've completely lost the bass and much of the lower midrange.
Like Sacha I've purchased 2 ring tones from the iTunes store within my iPhone 4S (Nicki Minay - Super Bass, and The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra - Star Trek the Motion Picture), within the store they sound great but as soon as their assigned to ring tones they sound awful. At first I assumed that the downloads must have been poorly compressed or something but I've since confirmed they play great on my PC.
I've also noticed something even more odd, if I use the ringtone as a text message tone on the iPhone one of them sounds great as it should but the other ones won't even play, very strange! I've had a look at the tones on my PC and both are 30 seconds long, and both are compressed to 256kbps at 44.1khz so no obvious differences. I've recompressed them to alternative bit rates but nothing seems to make a difference to the sound quality as a ring tone.
I've since tried both ringtones on my Wifes iPhone 4 and her's exhibits the same problems so not a handset or iPhone 4s specific issue. It sounds to me like a software bug in iOS5?

No sound effects after iOS 5 upgrade

After upgrading to iOS 5, my iPad 2 no longer has any sound effects. In Sounds settings, I can hear them, so mechanical aspects of playing sounds is not the issue. Regardless of the Notiication settings, there at no sound effects (no clicks, no ding for Mail, et., absolutely nothing). Ideas?

Do you have sound on the Music and Videos apps ? If so then have you got notifications muted - only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod/Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. Sound gone after Snow Leopard upgrade

I just upgraded (finally) to Snow Leopard on my 24" iMac. After a couple days the sound just disappeared. Everything seems to function correctly - preferences are correct, volume control works, etc - but nothing comes out of the speakers. Sound restores on reboot, but disappears within an hour or so. Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).
If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key to make the menu bar appear.
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
*Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize"
*Check that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
*If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the toolbar palette in the customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar

i check my speakers volume and its ok also in the home bottom speakers adjustment .

Sound issues after win 10 upgrade

I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 yesterday (August 1, 2015). The update went smoothly. However, there is no sound on my computer. The sound icon in the tray has a red cross and says, "No speakers or head phones plugged in," when I hover the mouse on it. I have AMD Radeon sound card and I have updated the driver from AMD website. Despite all recommended fixes on various forums, including the Microsoft suggestions, there is still no sound. I don't have sound for any music or video. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

Wow - sound like you are having a bad time of it with the upgrade. If you have an AMD APU processor - which I assume you have, like A6, A8 etc. Usually AMD has integrated drivers for both the video and the audio of the computer. Have you gone to AMD's website with your specific APU (Integrated Processor and GPU) to see if they have updated drivers for Windows 10? Your laptop manufacturer, (I assume HP) should also have them, but HP seems to be asleep at the switch with this OS release. Check out the AMD site and do a search for your specific APU. There should be some integrated drivers for Windows 10 posted. Usually you just execute the .exe file and it installs everything. It would be worth a shot anyway before you revert back to Windows 8. And....yes you can easily roll back to your last Operating system. Voicemail sounds robotic with 2.1

Has anyone else experienced the VM's sounding robotic after the 2.1 update?

I am having the same issue.
Even the voicemails that were saved from before the 2.1 update sound different now.
It's sounds as if the messages are more compressed like a bad MP3 and slightly out of phase.
The audio quality of live calls is normal, it's just the audio quality of the voicemail messages that has changed after moving to 2.1.
Anyone else seeing this??

Why does siri sound robotic?

Just updated my iPad iOS to 6.0.1 and now Siri's voice sounds robotic like someone's shoved something down its throat. Tried changing to different languages and they all have the same robotic tint to them. Any one have any idea what's going on? I have the most recent iPad ( iPad 3 I think)

Your iOS device initially uses a compact voice for both Siri and VoiceOver. After you have configured a Wi-Fi network and have the device connected to a power source, iOS will automatically download and install a more natural-sounding voice.
Siri
1. Go to Settings > General > Siri > Language.
2. Select the Language and Voice Gender* you want to use.
Note: If you change the language or gender for Siri, the new enhanced-quality voice will need to download.

Test after taking each of the following steps. Back up all data before making any changes.
1. Make sure the network is on the preferred list by following these instructions. It's important to read the article carefully, as it's the starting point for any further efforts to solve the problem. If you skip any of the steps, the problem may not be solved.
2. Follow the instructions in this support article under the heading "Symptom: The network connection drops unexpectedly."
3. Make a note of all your settings for Wi-Fi in the Network preference pane, then delete the connection from the connection list and recreate it with the same settings. You do this by clicking the plus-sign icon below the connection list, and selecting Wi-Fi as the interface in the sheet that opens. Select Join other network from the Network Name menu, then select your network. Enter the password when prompted and save it in the keychain.
4. From the Location menu at the top of the Network preference pane, select Edit Locations. A sheet will drop down. Click the plus-sign button to create a new location. Give it any name you want. In the new location, set up the Wi-Fi service with the same settings you used before. Click Apply and test.
5. Launch the Keychain Access application. Search for and delete all AirPort network password items that refer to the network. Make a note of the password first.
6. In some cases, the problem has been resolved by repairing permissions on the startup volume.
7. Turn off Bluetooth and test.
8. Reinstall OS X.

Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.
