Why do only some of the photos I would like to import from my ipad2 appear in iphoto?
A friend of mine shared some photos via photostream so that I can edit them into a movie. I selected all the photos that were shared and added them to my camera roll on my ipad2. After connecting my ipad2 to my macbook pro via usb, iphoto opens up and displays the pictures that I am allowed to import when devices(ipad) is selected. I only see some of the photos available for import. What happend to all the photos from my camera roll? Why aren't they available to import? I also noticed all my other photos on the camera roll, besides the ones saved from the photo stream, are not showing.
If older photos are missing it may be because photo stream photos are only held in iCloud for 30 days. After that they are removed from iCloud but will remain (up to 1000 photos) on your device until deleted. Also, only photos taken after enabling photo stream are added to your photo stream, and only when the camera is closed, your device is connected to wifi and you have at least 20% battery life remaining.
To transfer the missing photos you can either create a shared photo stream containing them and invite yourself to it (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmc0cd7e99), import the photos to your computer and sync them to your iPad, or use an app like PhotoSync to transfer them to your iPad over wifi.

I don't see photos in My Photo Stream on my iOS device.
Ensure that the Camera app is closed on the device that took the photo. Photos will not upload from an iOS device to My Photo Stream until the Camera app is closed.
Ensure that your iOS device has not fallen below 20% battery power. To preserve battery life, Photo Stream downloading and uploading are disabled when the battery reaches this threshold. Downloading and uploading will resume once you charge your device and the battery charge is greater than 20%.

Why don't some of the photos I took with my iPhone 4S appear on my iPad 3? Both are connected to WiFi and iCloud is activated on both devices.
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.
If this doesn't help you may need to reset photo stream. You can do this at icloud.com by clicking on your name in the top right corner and then the advanced settings in the pop-up dialogue box that appears.
Note: disabling photostream and re-enabling it will result in any photos that are currently in the photostream album on your device, that are older than 30 days old, not being added back. -

Well...you have some choices. You can take the slides to a photo/camera shop and they can transfer them to a DVD. Or...you can purchase a slide veiwer like I did and while viewing slide, take its picture with a steady mounted digital camera. Then you can load them into you computer and make the slide show and then burn them to a DVD.
Kinda complicated but it worked for me. My slide viewer was only $29 and blew the slide up to 8"x8".
There may be a few folks on this forum who will suggest less complicated methods. I hope so.

Why did only some of my photos show u on my photo stream ever since I had to restore it?
I had to go to apple to fix something on my iPad today. They had to restore my iPad. I finally got back home so I can start redownloading apps and stuff, but on my photo stream only a small portion of my pictures showed up and no more are loading. Why are my pictures showing up!!!!

If you load your last backup after restoring then everything comes back (as long as the photos are still part of your Photo Stream). I happened to restore my iPhone 5 last night to clear up Other and everything in Photo Stream and all my streamed albums came back just as they were before restoring.
Now, if you're referring to not loading a backup after restoring, then you will lose Camera Roll and possibly streamed albums, but I'm pretty sure that your main Photo Stream will always come back if you sign back into your iCloud account (perhaps not though ... and maybe this is what you're referring to?) -

As to face reconition - it is certainily not perfect and you often have to add faces to photos
as to yoou thrid question with inadaquate information for anyone to help you

again we have no idea what you are doing unless you bother to tell us where are you editing them? How are you trying to get them to the main iPhoto page. Exactly what are you doing and what is happening and what is not happening?

Why do only some of my photos show up in apps like instagram
When I try to post a picture on instagram and some other apps, its says I have about 100 photos in the "all photos" folder, when really I have 2 thousand. The pictures that are showing up are about half my most recent photos, then a lot of totally random pictures from the past. Does this have something to do with the camera roll? In instagram when i look at all the folders available, there's only a few and there are less photos in them. Why can't i access all of them?! It was fine about a week ago. I don't know what changed.
Hi. This sounds like a refresh issue. Can you try the following. Navigate within PS Touch one level up to the "Local Photos" - see attached scrrenshot. After that try to access your photos form the Camera Roll again.

i on day two of having an ipad, updated to io5 but putting music on it is proving tiresome. i've stored some 20gb on my netbook windows 7 from my larger library and using the sync process am trying to put tunes on the pad. when some albums appear they have one,maybe two songs available to play, the rest are grey and can't be played. It seems an endless process and this really is the only thing i've have concerns about i really like it.
That would be a question for Yahoo or Microsoft. It isn't your iPad that is doing this.

I payed for two movies through iTunes store on my computer, after they were ready to be transfered to the iTouch from my
rental library, only one successfully went through. The other film completely disregarded the attempt to show even a 'loading' bar.no, i had to leave so i logged out and when i opened itunes on my mac and went into the downloads tab it only had one paused download listed. i resumed the download for the one movie listed and the other one never showed up. its been about two weeks since i initially bought the two movies so i figured something was wrong.

I highlight the page and hit delete. It will go away at that moment but as soon as I type "w" on a new search it will pull the download page with the supposed to be deleted address.
Do those websites have a yellow star at the far right?
If they have a yellow star then that are bookmarks. You can open such a bookmark in a tab and click the yellow star to open the "Edit This Bookmark" dialog and click the Remove button. -
Unwanted dialog box when opening iPhoto.
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for a Folder called 'Import' or 'Importing'.
Drag it to the Desktop. Make no other changes. Start iPhoto. Does that help?
If it does then look inside that folder on your desktop. Does it contain anything you want? If not you can trash the folder. -
Why won't some of my photos transfer to my iphone 4?
I am trying to get certain photos onto my iphone 4, i put them all into the same folder and then selected that folder in itunes and hit sync. But only some of the photos transferred. Why can't i get all the photos on my phone? Now i have photo albums with duplicate photos that i cannot organize. How can i manage these albums?
I had this same problem and was able to resolve it using the following steps. I don't know if you need to do all of them, but this is what I did that works. I have Windows 7 (64 bit) and an iPhone 4. I hope that these work for you!
(1) Disconnent iPhone from computer
(2) In the Sync options in iTunes uncheck sync photos
(3) Close iTunes
(4) Go to your file manager (for Windows it is Windows Explorer) and go to all of the folders where you have tried to sync photos from. There will be iPhone (or i something) Cache. Delete these folders. All of them that you can find.
(5) Re-launch iTunes and connect your iPhone
(6) In iTunes go to the Sync options and reselect photos (or the specific folders)
(7) Click "Apply"
(8) When it asks if you want to remove all of the photos that are currently on your phone (it won't touch your camera roll) say yes
(9) Resync and all photos should be there -

Why do only some photos appear in iCloud folder on my PC and not all taken on iPhone appear on iPad either? All settings seem correct and new photos now seem to be appearing on all devices, but not all older or recent photos, even if taken at same time. All advice greatly appreciated.
First, to access documents you must use an app designed for that specific Document type. So Pages will not be able to open PDFs. The Documents app by Readdle can handle PDFs though. In the latter case, you'd open the app, click the menu icon at its top left, and click Open to go to your iCloud Drive. With Pages, if you had files outside the main Pages folder, click + then iCloud and navigate to the file's location.
