Why do Outlook calendar invites appear on my iPod touch calendar but not my iCloud calendar? I use Outlook at work and if I want to add events to the calendar on my iPod Touch which I use as a PDA I simply create the event in outlook select my gmail email address and invite myself. The event appears on my iPod Touch...all well and good...now with the advent of iCloud I would like to see all events on my iPod calendar on the iCloud calendar that I view on my PC. At the moment only events that I have added directly onto the iPod calendar appear on the iCloud calendar.
I have messed around abit syncing and unsyncing, Turning the Calendar on and off in the iCloud setting on the device but nothing is really working. Any easy to follow suggestions or is it a trip to the geniuses in order?

Not sure why you'd want to alter an artist name anyway but...
In iTunes, right-click selected track and click "Get Info" then edit the artist field and possibly the album artist too (edit as in... make sure they have a value (the correct artist name)). Delete the faulty track on your iPod and then re-upload the new one.
Another thing is that if you left the music player open on your iPod when you add the new track, sometimes I find that it doesnt find any of the new songs you add until you close and then re-open the app on the iPod.

If the calendar is on iCoud.com, all you would need to do to get it on your phone is go to Settings>iCloud on your phone, sign into your iCoud account and turn Calendars on. The iCloud calendars will then download to your phone.

Stupid icloud sign in box says my id is a valid apple id but not an icloud id! after changing my password it still won't let me sign in, why?

I finally got tired of updating iTunes and saying no to iCloud. Stupid me apparently. Now I'm Faced with a sign in box for iCloud that says my id is a valid Apple id but NOT an iCloud id. Everything I look at says that the id should work for both. Well, it's not for me and I am regretting having installed iCloud. If I can't sign in, or find out how to, I am going to remove iCloud and will never have anything to do with it again as it will be an obviously unusable program. Anyone know how to fix the stupid thing?
OK. I finally got a new screen that says I have to use my apple id to set up iCloud on a device..I don't have any devices..only my PC, unless a Kindle counts. Can anyone help here, please?

If you do not have an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, then you don't need iCloud.
It is a service that keeps these devices and your computer synchronized.

iCloud keeps mail, contacts, and calendars up to date between your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, and Windows PC, and lets you share calendars and task lists.
So, you can uninstall it from the Control Panel in Windows.

- Another cable
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Why can´t i sync apps to my ipod touch?

When in itunes, i click on my divice and i don't see a tab for Apps so i can´t sync the apps i downloaded from the itunes store on my computer to my iPod touch. why don´t i have the app icon? i´ve looked everywhere online "how to sync apps to iPod" and everywhere in the steps they say something like "select 'applications' tab" and, i don´t have the 'applications' tab... what do i do!? some help please?

The 1G can only go to iOS 3.1.3 that you get here.
Purchasing iOS 3.1 Software Update for iPod touch (1st generation)
Note that there are not that many apps are are compatible with a fully updated 1G iPod.

I'm working in West Africa, and iTunes says it will take between 8 and 11 hours to download the OS (5.0.1). But I never have that long a stretch of uninterrupted electricity or internet. Every blink off and I have to start again at zero. Bit torrents are already an old technology. What gives? Basically, I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO UPDATE MY IPOD. And probably not my macbook.
