Why do phone numbers disappear in Address and IPhone Contacts?

I've noticed that my wife's phone numbers get cancelled out of the Address Book and IPhone Contacts after a sync. I have only noticed my wife's phone numbers missing. Don't know if others numbers are missing too. Her name and email address and notes stay. Only the phone numbers get deleted.

Check your address book on your computer to make sure everything is in order first, then go into iTunes and choose the box under the sync options for your iPhone that "Replaces" all the information on your iPhone with that of your PC in the category of the address book. See if that helps.

2 Way sync address and iphone

Hi, any changes i make in address book do show on the iphone when i sync. but if i make the changes on the iphone its self they do up address book app. does it not support a 2 way sync? i phone 3g iphone

As far as transferring data to your husbands MacBook
so that you can sync your iPhone on it I am really not
sure. Seems like a lot of trouble to get your data onto
your iPhone.

Why won't Apple Mail utilize addresses from Apple Contacts ?
Some of the people in my contacts have multiple e-mail addresses. Using contacts from within Apple Mail I can see these e-mail addresses. I then select the e-mail address I need to use and it is highlighted in blue. However, when I drag that e-mail address into the e-mail it uses the first e-mail address on the list and does NOT use the one that is highlighted.
This worked perfectly with good old Snow Leopard. Why doesn't it work now? What is the procedure for selecting an e-mail address that is not the first one in contacts ?

To see if there's a recovery volume installed reboot with the Option key held down and see what volumes are shown that you can book from. If there is a recovery volume it will be displayed. The arrow keys can be used to moved to the desired volume and the Enter or Return key to start the boot.
Yes I did that. I don't no why, but I have no recovery volume.
However, I do have mavericks on a USB flash drive. I booted from the flash drive and followed your procedure. This did not fix my Mail problem.
I notice now that after I drag an e-mail address into the header there is a small down arrow next to the incorrect e-mail address, this allows me to choose from a small group including the correct e-mail. I'm just wondering, perhaps this Is the way Apple Mail works in Mavericks.

Then chances are you won't be able to get them back. You can try restoring from your last iPhone backup to see if they're still there. To do this, prior to connecting your phone, open iTunes on your computer and go to Preferences; on the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically". Then connect your phone to your computer and when it appears in iTunes on the left sidebar right-click on its name and choose Restore from Backup. Of course, if your backup has already been overwritten with a new backup that doesn't contain the missing contact information then this will not restore it to your phone.) When done you can go back to iTunes Preferences and re-enable automatic syncing if you prefer this.

While trying to sync an ipod touch and a new iphone 5S the phone numbers in my contacts was erased. The other information on them in the contacts is still there but the phone numbers on everyone is gone. Does anyone know how to retrieve the phone numbers.

Multiple Phone numbers for Multiple addresses

We have a requirement to build a solution for the following :
Every Business partner may have multiple addresses, and each address may have multiple phone numbers !!
We already have a qualified lookup table to house the multiple addresses but we are stuck at accomdating multiple phone number to each of the addresses !!
Any smart ideas !!?

I got your point .But I guess you are talking about a lookUp Qualified inside a lookup Qualified table which I believe is not possible.But u can nest a lookup Flat table inside a qualified Table.
To your problem I have a different solution.
Let suppose Master record is as shown below:
Id | Name | Home_Add | Business_ADD | Landline | Mobile.
1 | abc | 123 | - | 078821 | 93709.
1 | abc | - | 345 | 080145 | 98932.
Here customer 'abc' have Multiple address like Home address and Business address.And each address has multiple phone numbers like Landline and Mobile.
In this case if you design repository as;
Main Table: ID,Name,Addres_Type
where Address_Type is a LookUp Quaified Field (multivalued)
Qualified Table:Address Type(Non-Qualifier),Landline(Qualifier)and Mobile(Qualifier),Address(Qualifier).
Address Type is a Flat LookUp Table with values Home address and Business Address.
After You Import in Data Manger your record will look like:
Id | Name | Address Type
1 | abc |Home Address;Business Address.
and when you see in Record detail pane for Address Type
you will find values like
Address Type: Home Address.
Landline : 078821
Mobile : 93709.
Address :123
Address Type: Business Address.
Landline : 080145
Mobile : 98932
Address :345

less then 2 weeks old phone numbers inside contacts all have disappeared...any thoughts

I something similar happen recently as well. All the contact data on the iPhone and MobileMe disappeared. I'm not sure which to blame here. The next time I got to my MacPro, I was able to put the proper data back on MobileMe.

How do I get rid of multiple phone numbers listed in iMessage and Facetime?

I just upgraded to the iPhone 5 and also upgraded my husband to the iPhone 4. I had originally activated his phone under my Apple ID but have since gotten him his own Apple ID. The problem I am having is that I have both of our phone numbers listed under:
Settings>Messages>Send & Receive>You can be reached by iMessage at:
It then lists my number and his number. Does anybody know how to delete his number? He seems to be getting some of my messages and his number is also listed under my Facetime contact numbers.

basically, you have to backup your phone to your computer, restart it, and set up as a new one. then you can start fresh, but still keep all your data and contacts.

Why are my numbers in image size and layers acting chaotic.

Photoshop CS3ext........When I go to size an image and try to adjust the size, the numbers take off on their own with out me even trying to adjust. Also in layers, all the slider bars, the numbers go crazy, up and down without me doing anything

Not all phone numbers sync from Gmail to iPhone

Is there a way to control which phone numbers sync from my Gmail Contacts to my iPhone (and vice-versa)?
A few things I've noticed:
- only 1 "mobile" number gets synced from gmail to iphone (which is a pain when a contact has mobile numbers is a couple of different countries)
- a number labled as "other" in gmail doesn't get synced at all to the iphone
I should mention that I have my Gmail account on my iPhone set up as an "Exchange" account.

If you've got Gmail set up as an Exchange account, your options for labels are limited. And, every now and then, I had it randomly relabel things. I'd recommend syncing the contacts through a standard Gmail set up. If you want to keep using your email through Exchange you can do that. Just turn off contacts for that account. When you set up the standard Gmail account (IMAP), only turn on contacts. I've found it works much better.

I think they are any device associated with your Apple ID that you have downloaded items from the apple or iTunes Store to. I'm sorry that I don't understand all this. My account shows that I have my iPad and 2 iPhones in use but I have had a lot of phones and I don't know which ones I used. One of them may also belong to my ex husband. Yuck

Address book and iPhone contacts not syncing

I have just got an iPhone 4. However, I now realise that all of the contact info that I'd been adding over a very long time to my old iPhone 3G has not come across. None of it seems to have synced with the address book on my iMac. Why is this so? It seems that the iMac address book has been overriding my iPhone contacts during the sync (which I do very regularly). Can I get this info back from my Time Machine backup?

Go into System Preferences -> iCloud. Firstly check that Contact syncing is enabled, and then check that you are signed into the same Apple ID.
Otherwise turn Contact syncing off and then back on. Then select to merge when prompting.
