Why do some Answered topics have no reply shown as Answered!
Why are many topics shown with a green star but there is no reply within the topic which is indicated as solving it?
Yeah, I just noticed several recent threads that involved myself and the OP, and no one else. They are marked as Answered, yet none of my posts are shown as either helpful or answering the question. So I checked and discovered this is not unusual. Thus to give points the OP must do two things, not just the one thing (vote). Previous experience suggests about 1 in 10 posts gets actual votes. So now that only the OP can award points, and must do twice as much clicking to so, I guess the odds of getting one's just rewards have changed for the worse. Geez. I'll never get to be a Level 4. (sounds of sniffling, or sniveling, in the background)
And I was so looking forward to seeing the virtual leather chairs in the Lounge...

On web pages and in the ap store. In place of the graphic there's a little box with a question mark in it.
I can't even connect to a web page right now. I've got three bars on the wifi icon but safari just keeps trying until it says it can't connect to the server. Same with the ap store, I've been trying all afternoon to download a new ap with no success. It came right through on my iphone on the same wifi network. Had the same problem on my home network. I'm new to apple and I've only had the iphone and the ipad for a little over a week, but all this seems to have started after the most recent software update.

The black and white iPhones are the same (except for the color). One hole is your ear speaker. Above it is the proximity sensor. It is not a hole in the glass front but a whole in the underlying material where the proximity sensor is located. You can see this hole with the white material, but it is hard to see with the black material, but it is still there.

I have my Xresources set for transparency in URxvt, and it works perfectly fine. Some programs, however, seem to just have a solid background set by default, like alsamixer:
Is this something I can't change?Because they are ncurses based and color background is often set do "black" as default. If come across one that lets you change the colors, just set the background to "default" and you'll get your transparency

RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Modecharging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

If you have content eligible for icloud then you can stream it directly. Of course any local content requires your computer on and running iTunes to be able to see your library.

why will some websites which loaded fine before now not load - when other favourites load fine, and new searches are fine? This only affects 2 websites, both of which were bookmarked. I have removed them as bookmarks and this makes no difference.
From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test. -

Why does my Apple TV have to frequently reactivate some channels, such as HBO Go and PBS and several others that I know were already activated.
Maybe a software update reset something, maybe the broadcasters require this at intervals, could someone have logged/signed out? Sorry don't get those channels in UK, but once Netflix made me log in again, others seem ok.

The plus sign indicates it's a Universal app, i.e., one that will work on an iPad and an iPhone/iPod touch.

Only some movies I have placed in iTunes "Movies" are viewable via Apple TV. Why? Also some movies have blue dots in front of their titles and some don't . Why?
Please understand I am a frustrated customer like you, , but the availability of movies that have been shown before is dependant on licencing from the rights owners. Sky quite rightly have to pay the film studios for the ability to show to Sky's customers. As I understand it they purchase the right for a period of time, hence when the right expires then it has to be removed. The costing of the movies does reflect on the anticipated popularity of the programme, hence an older less popular movie might seem expensive but if not many people watch and pay that would be right. The apparent silliness of having movies in the store and on demand, allows those people who do not have a movie subscription to rent the movie on a one off basis. I agree that Sky seem to be licencing some programmes for shorter periods and it really upsets me when movies appear in buy and keep but not available to rent only. I recently queried Sky about Fortitude being available in OnDemand until 2022!, then of course found out that Sky owns the rights of the series. I can only say be careful if you are a movies subscriber and wish to watch a movie, not to select the Sky Store version if it is available in the Movies on Demand section. I recently wanted to watch a film that I found in Sky store at a cost, and just to be sure I searched for it and found it was to be shown on Channel 4 in a few days. I don't think we'll ever understand how such decision are made as to how long they licence movies for and how the charging model works with the film studios. Logically you would think that a smallish fee to have available indefinately and to pay the studio fee based on the number of rentals would be better, but that might be difficult to administer and Sky would have to have extra server storage fees, which they outsource. I have downloaded a trial version of Dreamweaver CS6 to my MacBook. Why do some features not work? I have OSX 10.6.8. I am using this trial version for a class I am taking on coding webpages using Dreamweaver. there are features I am using in class that will not open up or appear as options when I use the trial version. Are certain features locked out until I buy a copy or download a purchased copy?
Trial versions have no functional limitations, though your setup/situation might not be supportive of all functionality. You'll need to identify specific issues to get help with them. You should be posting in the DW forum instead of here if your issue does not have to do with downloading/installing.
