Why do some app passwords not restore after Restore?

I just restored from a backup onto a new iPhone 5. Some apps, like Dropbox, logged me in automatically (backup had the password). Some, like Kindle, Netflix, and Skype did not. Is this normal - why does my backup not save the login info for those apps?

Whether or not that information is contained in the backup is up to the app developer.

I recently got my iPad replaced after a hardware failure. I restored the new iPad, which forced an upgrade to iOS 5.0.1. After restoring apps, I restored app settings from a backup. When opening apps, it seemed that the restore had restored game progress etc. However, some (but not all) apps are then losing data: After switching to another app, or closing the app, and then opening the app again, the app has been reset to its starting state, with all game progress lost.
Can anyone suggest what to do?

Turns out that the restore had created two accounts at the app developer's game server. After removing the new account, it has worked nicely since.

Some Apps Won't Sync After Restore

I ran a restore on my iPod Touch, and after it completed most of my apps will not sync.
Everything worked prior to the restore (Facebook, Netflix, Twitter, etc), but none of these will sync to the iPod at all. Some of my apps (Angry Birds, ESPN, Solitaire) sync just fine.
Music and Podcasts sync fine.
I deauthorized and reauthorized my PC (running Windows XP)
I ensured the Sync Apps box is checked
Restrictions on the iPod are Off
There is over 600MB of space available on the iPod
I checked for App updates, none were available
I rolled back from iTune 10.7 to 10.6.3
I reset the iPod using the power & home buttons
I ran another restore
None of these were successful.
The iPod Touch is running version 4.2.1 (this the latest this generation of Touch will update to)
I attempted to download both the Facebook and Netflix apps directly onto the iPod via wifi, and they say iOS 5 is necessary; this was not the case previously.

As Ingo2711 said, the developers have updated many or their apps and the updated apps are no longer comnpatible with earlier iOS.
FB now requires:
Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4.3 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.

IPhone 4 upgraded from iPhone 3GS but Apps did not synch after restore...

I have had every iPhone since the very first one - call me crazy... and each time a new one has come out, all I have needed to do is take it home, restore from last back up and voila - all good. This time, no so good - I took the new iPhone 4 home, plugged it in, restored from backup, then selected to synch my iPhone. Now, admittedly, I have 21.4 GB of music, about 4800 songs (which is why I bought the 32Gb phone, again) and it takes quite a while to restore and synch the phone. When the initial synch was complete, iTunes had only copied my music, movies, pics, etc, everything EXCEPT my APPS! So I spent about an hour organizing all my apps into folders and moving them around, then I synched it and all was good 4 days ago. Last night I went to synch my phone and received several errors stating that the phone could not synch and that some files were missing, so I restored from backup, again, and resynched, again, and this time, like last, all my apps were not installed, but only some of the folders were... Am I doing something wrong or is there a trick to get this to work... or maybe some of the apps I have need to be trashed?

I need to ask, just in case, but are you certain you have enough room for the apps? It seems like you do, but you might have synced some videos or movies that prevent the apps from syncing.
You might have some corrupted Apps too. Don't synch any apps you don't need, and then try again. You're going to have to take some time to sort through it all.

Some apps will not open after sync.

I downloaded iMapMyRun and Waze. I opened them both just fine and started using Waze without problems. Later, I downloaded eBay. It is a very wanting app but it worked. I later downloaded Angry Birds Free, but I never opened it. I did a sync to iTunes, which told me that certain apps could not be synced because they were not authorized on this device (meaning the MBP I assume). Just after that I tried to play Angry Birds, but it just flinches without opening. The eBay app began doing the same thing. I was still able to use Waze, but didn't try iMapMyRun. I just did another sync hoping that it would straighten things out. Now, I can't open any of those four applications. Everything else seems to work fine. Icons for those 4 apps show up in the recent apps list even though they only flinch instead of actually opening. I have tried force quiting those apps in the recent apps list and rebooting the iPhone to no avail.
Any ideas?

I did eventually need to delete Angry Birds Free. It reinstalled and began working properly. However, I lost my scores and ranking in the top .02% of > 12,000,000 players. I have found it very difficult and frustrating trying to reaccomplish the high scores I had before, but (although not as many points as before & burned out) am now in the top .03% of > 16,000,000 players. So, if there is information that you don't want to loose (& more precious than a silly high score), you may want to continue searching before using my remedy for those particular applications.
I hope it works out for you. These issues are agrevating for me, because I think everything should work correctly the first time and am then spoiled by Apple, which usually does give that outcome.

N8 - Some Apps & Widgets Not Working After 2nd Ann...

I advanced the date on my phone and saw another (?) service pack update for Anna. So, I installed it, thinking it couldn't hurt, even if it's the same one I had already downloaded. Now, several apps and widgets no longer work or even load, such as Accuweather, Social, Memory Bars, RamInfo, etc. I re-installed Anna from Nokia Suite, although there was no option to re-install 1/2 and 2/2 or the original service pack. I even did a restore factory settings (without delete data) and no joy.
I'm in the US and have Anna 25.007.269.04.
Everything was working fine before I made that foolish mistake. Anybody experiencing this or have any suggestions? I'm afraid that even a full soft reset won't help if I backup the data in the condisition that it's in now.

Thanks for your suggestion @haZey. Yes, I did try un-installing and re-installing the affected apps without any change. I even tried to re-install Anna from Nokia Suite to no avail. I then tried it using Nokia Software Updater, but it kept giving me an error that it was losing connection to the phone near the end of the update.
I know it's not recommended for an end-user, but I finally used Nokia Care Suite for Store v.4 and selected the "Software Reset" option. I wasn't clear about the differences between "Software Reset", "Software Update" and "Refurbish", but the program showed that "Software Reset" would restore factory settings and only delete "some" user data. After it downloaded and flashed Anna 25.007, I then used FOTA to re-install Anna updates 1 and 2, Social and the Anna Service Pack. Everything went very smoothly. I was able to restore my contacts and messages from a recent backup, but chose to configure from factory settings manually rather than by restoring the backup settings. I did lose a few apps, like Sleeping Screen, Nokia Battery Monitor and the New Nokia Store QML Client, but I was able to re-download and install them again.
It took a few hours to get everything back to normal, but all is well and now I can breathe a sigh of relief.
I think I've learned my lesson - leave well enough alone. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Why the photo app is not closing after i finish, when i take a picture accessing directly from home screen. the location is draining my battery if I'm not closing the app by double click home button. in iOS 6 was not like this

When im taking a picture directly from home screen after im finished the application remain open. This app is ussing the location and if im not closing like other applications by doble click the home button the batery will finished fast. On the other IOS 5 and 6 was not neccesary to unblock the phone and bouble click the home bottom.

Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

My apps are not working after restore....

I hav iphone 3GS 32GB. today i backd up my phone on my friends computer with different log in .. so i started with backup then restored my phone.... now my device's only original applications are working properly ... but all other applications i dowloaded earlier are visible yet not working. how can i fix that...?
secondly i want to know that .. can i dowload apps from my friends itunes with his log in name?

You can sign out of your friend's iTunes account with iTunes on his/her computer followed by signing in with your iTunes account - this will also authorize your friend's computer with your iTunes account. You can have up to 5 computers authorized with the same iTunes account.
Probably best to create a separate computer login account on your friend's computer for you to use with iTunes and your iTunes account instead of having your apps available in your friend's iTunes library downloaded with your iTunes account.
You can re-download an app with iTunes on this computer and you won't be charged again for a purchased app as long as you use the same iTunes account to re-download the app that was used to purchase the app originally. Co-mingling different iTunes accounts with the same iTunes library is not a good idea IMO. Better to do this with iTunes under a new computer login account for you to use with this computer.

Some app is not opening after upgrading 6.1.2 for ipad4

I had Ipad 4 and i was installed many app. but yesterday i had upgraded to IOS 6.1.2 and when i try to open some applications it start to open and then close but when i connect my Ipad to wifi and try to open that applications again it open normaly...i wondered why?

My iPhone did this after an iCloud backup. If the music is shown but won't play then:
On the iPhone go to settings> general > usage> then delete all of the music. After you've done this sync your iPhone to your iTunes and they should all go back onto the phone and work. ( make sure that all the music is in your iTunes library first)

Just updated to I Tunes 11 some apps will not sync to my i pod touch. Has others went thur the same problem?

Plug in your iPhone to iTunes on your Computer, let it sync the games onto the Computer, then plug in your iPad and go to Apps in iTunes and select the apps then apply and it will download them to the iPad :)
If you have trouble when in Apps in iTunes on your Computer, it will say iPhone and iPod touch Apps. Hope this helps!!

I havent' took any backup of my notes in icloud. The moment I enter the password after restore my notes will be empty. The only option to get notes back is that after restore skip entering icloud password. But any time I enter icloud password anywhere again my notes will be empty. I have huge data saved in my notes. Apple need to look into this issues very seriously. This is the 5th time I restoring my iphone today just to get my note back.

I have the issue with losing all my notes and I don't even know why. I can't remember changing any email account info. What happened to them?

Is your iPhone jailbroken? Activation errors often come up with a jailbroken iPhone, and if yours is, there's nothing we can do to help in these forums.
