Why do some assets ask me to 'Save Changes' even though nothing has changed

Problem: Assets that have been uploaded recently ask me to save changes, every-time I close 'get info' window, but nothing has been changed.
This problem didn't always happen with assets early on. But it's seem to happen now after I've added new groups and fields to the metadata set. Not sure if that's related.

After reading the 'Administration Guide', I quickly discovered that I had been improperly setting the CATEGORY for each new FIELD I created. I assumed that when I created a 'Shoot Date' field, I chose 'Date' as the category. Apparently, this is incorrect. All custom field metadata that you create must have a category set to 'None'. Every other category is for FCSr's internal purposes. Surprising, but it was in the documentation. Changing the category on this new field back to 'none' solved my issue.

After upgrading from Vista to Windows 7, Firefox lost all my stored passwords, never asks to save them, even though I've checked box for saving them, have made sure history is not cleared, and am not in Private Browsing.

In Windows 7, Firefox 8.0 does not ask to save passwords, and does not save, them, even though I checked the box to save passwords. I have confirmed that clearing history is not on and that I am not in Private Browsing. This is so frustrating, it almost makes me want to go back to Vista. I have looked at all the suggestions to fix the problem in "Help" and have followed the suggestions, and none of them help.

I have the TX2 1012NR and its can upgrade just fine! Here is a few recommendations "only if u have the HP Upgrade program disks"
If you have them you can install a clean copy and delete everything... Do not use the use me first disk included because it prompts you to install an older BIOS.... Just use the windows 7 upgrade disk and start the process. The clean install clears your entire drive but does not void your warranty! When you use the use me first disk after the install it actually loads everything else needed to get you up in running. The touchscreen driver and the HP Mediasmart programs will have to be downloaded from the HP support site. Once again its recommended that if there were any programs installed delete them do not try to update them! This causes issues and countless errors. Specifically with touchscreen drivers etc uninstall them before installing the ones from HP support. I found this was not the easy way to do it but the best way... I also recommend that when doing any sort of BIOS update that you remove your Battery and leave it connected to a power cord only! Last but not least if you really mess up and its under warranty... Send it to HP they will set it back up to factory defaults under Windows Vista with the more up to date BIOS installed. I hope my information helps! Sure you might loose some programs but in the end your computer runs faster and smoother because all the programs installed are made for Windows 7.... Even though I clicked that, the file's modification time is changing.
(The modifications I made are not there, so it's not really saving but why the date is changing then?)

All I can suggest is that you open that file on the MBA and save it as a new file, then see if you can open the new one on the iMac.

Do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Site Preferences"
Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

Why is it that some songs get listed on their own even though they are part of an album? They are always songs that I had on my computer not imported from a cd using iTunes. I have verified that all the info is correct and matches the other songs in the album. Sometimes I can check the "compilation" box on all the songs in the album and that will put them in order and in the same listing. I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure this out.

What I did in this case is select all the songs in the album and select Get Info and see if Album Artist and Album and Sort Artist and Sort Album Artist and Sort Album are the same.

Thanks, that makes sense. If I do a search in IPhoto I find it. I have 6 grand children and also have had my camera for quite awhile and it starts file names over again after 10,000 pictures. (I don't have all these on the computer) but now I have some files with the same name ie img_4 and img_4

Curretly, there is an iCloud blackout. It started this morning around 2AM California time (Pacific), 5AM New York (Eastern). A lot of people have been having issues all day, including me. No iCloud services are online. Even Find My iPhone is down.

When we plugged it into the port on the keyboard, the device works. Why? Obviously the device is operational. Could the USB port have burned out from having too much power drawn? If so, is it reparable?

It can't draw "too much" power, it can only draw as much as the USB port is able to provide and no more. IIRC, the keyboard port has a lower power output than the iMac's port.
That being said, yea, it's possible that the port has failed and it can be replaced or if another port works you can use that one. Although if it is still under warranty or covered by Apple Care, then I would take it to an Apple Store or service provider to get the port repaired.

Could have to do with home sharing. Try turining off and then back on home sharing on your AppleTV.

firefox keeps asking to authenticate to kerebos even though it is no longer using the xserve as a proxy, do i have to reset something in firefox or delete something so it works with a new windows proxy? can't seem to get past this as i can't authenticate as it is no longer using that proxy, so just keeps popping up all the time with cannot contact any kdc for requested realm . There must be a way to reset firefox to not look for kerebos? any ideas would be greatly appreciated?

When the Kerberos login window appears just click cancel. Firefox should then use the next authentication mechanism it can or it won't bother if that's all there was. You can 'reset' Firefox by removing the Firefox folder from /Users/home/Library/Application Support. Relaunch the application afterwards.
Don't trash the moved folder as you may want to reinstate the Bookmarks.html? If you do it should be fairly obvious to you as to what you need to do. If you don't want the bookmarks trash the folder.

Try to set it up as new device, explained here:

Start without using the backup after the restore process, to rule out a software problem.
If the phone is working after that, use the backup to restore from. In case the problem comes back, your backup contained corrupt data and you'll have to start again without the backup.
