Why do some of my song titles appear in red?

Could anybody tell me why some of the CD's in my Library now appear in a red font? I purchased them legit or downloaded them from iTunes, but I get this red font. They still play, but why the red? Any ideas?

Why it happens now and not before is just one more digital mystery, but there are some settings that you can alter that make more sensible if you want.
In Mail>Preferences>Junk Mail make your settings thus:
The last 2 are the important ones, they will stop Mail taking notice of what your ISP says about the email, instead Mail will assess whether it is junk. If it is then it will be recoloured and moved to the junk mailbox. Over time Mail will learn (which it can't do very well now as it is not checking any mail marked as junk by your ISP) so the database is always complete instead of partially.

    Hi smiilee,
Have you tried resetting your phone (hold down the Home and Power buttons a the same time and continue to hold until the Silver Apple appears). Once the Home screen comes back up, see if your Music is OK.
If it is not, then, have you sync'd your phone to an iTunes library on a computer? If so, then hook it up to the computer, uncheck the "Sync Music" option so that no music is sync'd and then sync the phone. This should delete everything on the phone. Then go back and re-check the "Sync Music" option, and select any other criteria you want on that screen, and then sync again. This should put back all of your music.
Let me know if you have any questions,

    Hi there,
You may want to take a look at some of the troubleshooting articles found in the article below.

If you have content eligible for icloud then you can stream it directly. Of course any local content requires your computer on and running iTunes to be able to see your library.

  • Why are some of my songs listed in red?

Why are some of the songs and albums listed in red in my library?

You tell us, did you do anything?
    Install iTunes 11?
Put songs into a Playlist Folder?
Is the Playlist a Smart Playlist?
Number two, putting songs into a Playlist Folder is guaranteed to cause songs to be "lost" from the list, eventually.
So - if you need more help than the possible causes listed here, you need to tell us a bit more about the issue. One assumes for instance (since you've posted in the iTunes for Windows forum), that this is ocurring in iTunes. What devices are you Syncing with your iTunes Library, and what are the Playlists like on them?

  • Why are some of my songs not in order in my albums?

I was wondering why are some of my songs not in order in my albums? This wasn't a problem when I first used i-tunes, but I had to download a newer version of i-tunes to get my sister's ipod to work.  For Example my album "AC DC Live" has track #3 Back in Black as the first song listed.  How can this be fixed?

    Hello igho234,
Thank you for contacting Apple Support Communities. You don't mention how those songs got onto your playlist, but this article may address your issue, if they were imported from a third-party application or CD.

Why do some of my songs stop playing before they are finished?

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

No one hear has any idea why you are having a problem without a lot more information. Have you checked Sync only checked songs? Have you checked "Manually manage music and videos"? Are ANY songs transferrring, or None? Are all of the songs purchased with the same iTunes account? ARE they purchased iTunes songs or from another source? Are you using the same computer all the time (the iPhone can sync music from only one computer at a time)?

  • Why do some of my songs have an exclamation point in Itunes? When I try to play it gives an error message that it can be located?

Why do some of my songs have an exclamation point in Itunes? When I try to play it gives an error message that it can be located?

This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

  • Why do some of my songs have a dotted circle next to it

Why do some of my songs have a dotted circle next to it? And I know it has to do with not allowing me to transfer those songs from iTunes to iPhone 4S.

That indicates the file can't be found, based on the the original location provided to the iTunes library when you first added the track.

  • Playlist song titles appear one after the other without playing

Some of my playlists simply show each track title for a brief moment, then the next title appears. If I don't move to another playlist, this goes on repeatedly from the first title to the last. Other playlist titles play normally. Why is this? Does it have something to do with track information (track numbers, artist, composer, etc.)? Thanks in advance for your advice.

Follow the directions here to restore the iOS:

Do not restore from backup, rather sync your content back to the phone. Test now.

  • Why are some of my songs showing up under # instead of first letter on my iPod?

Kinda hard to explain so I'll add a picture.
Anyhow, some songs on my iPod are showing up under the # category instead of being under the letter that the song title starts with. Anyone know why? I thought it was ones that I uploaded from physical CDs that I bought, but it's also happening with some songs that I buy from iTunes/Amazon/etc. too!
Its really frustrating because if I want to listen to a certain song, I either have to look through the # list if it isn't categorized right, or I have to click artist and search through that way.
Example: 'Dirty Country' should be under the 'D' category, not '#'
