Why do some videos not copy from iphone to pc?

I don't understand why some videos will not copy from my iphone 4s to my pc (win xp) when I connect iphone usb to pc using "scanner and camera wizard"? Just some of them. It doesn't matter if its 2min or 2 sec long. Just randomly says it can't copy to my pc...
why??
Also can I avoid all this if I have icloud set up on both devices?
I haven't tried because it seems that everywhere I have read and researched - icloud only pushes photos/photostream/camera roll (as well as documents, contacts, etc) But I am focused on home videos I have recorded on my iphone camera trying to get it off iphone and onto pc.
Immediate response would be SOO appreciated!

Yeah I considered that but I had so many photos & videos I attempted it this way. And I am getting some videos to copy to pc - juist not all...grrr thanks for the icloud info though,

If you moved the G4 around to make room for the new machine, that could have jarred the processor loose. It's not unusual for that to happen to an older machine, though it usually happens to RAM or cables, not to the processor.
Years of heating and cooling can loosen a connection and cause some oxidation of the contacts; subsequent moving of the machine, coupled with just a bit of thumping or torquing of the chassis, can cause the connection to fail. Reseating the connection not only makes it secure again, it usually wipes the oxidation off of the contacts.

    1.    Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
    2.    Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
    3.    Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.
If this doesn't help you may need to reset photo stream. You can do this at icloud.com by clicking on your name in the top right corner and then the advanced settings in the pop-up dialogue box that appears.
Note: disabling photostream and re-enabling it will result in any photos that are currently in the photostream album on your device, that are older than 30 days old, not being added back.

Some videos not copied to Apple TV

Once my sync was completed, I got a prompt on the screen that said, several of my videos (it named the actually video) were not copied to apple tv because they could not be found. However when I go into iTunes and look in one of my playlists, all of my videos are right there.
I get this same exact prompt when I hook up my ipod as well. The only thing with the iPod is that it will STILL copy the video content over anyway.
These videos are Music Videos that I produced and edited with Final Cut Pro. I compressed that file using Compressor into a file that could play on iPods and cell phones. I have 8 of these videos. Only 2 of them came over to AppleTV. In iTunes I selected each video I wanted to send to Apple TV and yet only 2 got synced.
Anyone know why this is? Again all the videos are there and playback with no problems yet I get a message either when my ipod is hooked up or now my apple tv that states that "X" video could not be copied because it could not be found!

Sounds as though you have either moved them manually, deleted them or they were perhaps referenced on an external drive which is not connected.
The entry in iTunes simply relates to a record in the database of a file that was once added - if the file is moved/renamed/deleted from outside iTunes or is on a drive no longer attached, iTunes knows where the file should be but can't find it.
Choose one of the problem files in iTunes, right click and do Get Info.
Under the summary tab the location of the files should be seen under Where.
Alternativelt if you can right click, do Show in Finder, and the file is there then maybe your database is corrupt.

Voice Memos older than last Sync date not copying from iPhone to PC after sync, even though "Include voice memos" is checked

I am trying to copy over my voice memos from my iPhone to my PC. I have "Include voice memos" checked under the Music tab.
I had an issue with voice memos being duplicated on my iPhone after a sync (I got two versions of each memo on my phone for some reason), so after deleting the extra copies on my phone I deleted all voice memos from within iTunes and chose the option to move the files to the Recycle Bin. So the Music\iTunes\Itunes Music\Voice Memos folder is empty, and there are no voice memos showing up in iTunes.
But now when I sync, it isn't copying over the older memos that are on my iPhone to my computer. If I record a new voice memo then that memo transfers successfully, but any voice memos with a recording date older than my last sync date do not transfer.
How can I get these older voice memos (with dates older than my last sync date) transferred over from my phone onto my PC?

Does anyone know of a way that I can access the voice memos with dates older than my last sync date...?

Two unconnected iphone 4s (one with an apple id, one without) have, without being asked to, copied the contents of notes from one to the other. How has this happened, and what can i do to prevent it.

Something I just now remembered, I DO NOT have THE CLOUD on my iPhone because it has never been updated. Cloud is only on the iPad. Could that be why this happened?

Why does text formatting not copy from RH project to RH project?

In RoboHelp 9, I'm copying text, from one RoboHelp project to another. How come the text formatting is not retained? The indenting is off and the small Roman numerals and small letters are changed to bullets.

Why is some artwork not displaying in iPhone 4 cover flow?

All of my album artwork displays in iTunes, but certain songs in my iPhone 4 are showing the gray background and music notes. It is often a song on an album where the other album songs display artwork, but that one in particular doesn't (again, it shows in iTunes).
Any suggestions as to what's up? I'm on the latest version of iTunes 10.5.2.11 and iOS 5.0.1.

Don't upgrade to 10. 5.3 then as back cover artwork becomes invisible when upgrading to 10.5.3
I can't find any way to see the secondary artwork (back cover or photo sleeve).
The only way to see other than the cover, is to get info on the tune?
No way to see my liner notes, etc large - only a thumbnail shows in get info.

Some videos got deleted from iphone 3gs before backup

Somebody please help! A couple videos got deleted today before I was able to get home and back up my iPhone. I've been on line trying to find out how to recover them and I've found all kinds of crazy recovery programs and things, but I'm afraid to download any of that stuff! I just lost my lap top 2 weeks ago to a virus and I'm not trying to lose my desktop and my phone to one too! Is there any way to recover deleted videos if I haven't backed them up???

Why are some objects not printing from Illustrator after I print to PDF?

I've printed a large Illustrator CS6 document to PDF (using Adobe PDF setting in print dialog box), and it looks just fine when I view the PDF. The problem is that some lines do not print when I try to print the PDF on paper. I've tried adjusting settings and printing to the PDF in different ways, but can't figure it out. Everything looks great on the screen, but some lines are missing once printed to paper. Others have tried printing the PDF as well and are also getting missing lines.

I've tried selecting print all layers, and I'm also tiling the pages to a custom page size. I've left all the other settings at default. Everything looks perfect on screen, but parts of the same object do not print. I tried to attach a screen shot but am getting an error. Basically each page has a border around it, and one side of the border is not printing on certain pages.

You haven't told us what you tried.
Have you synced them to a computer first (as you should be doing to archive them) and then sync them to the other device?

Next time an app update gets stuck try a reset. Press and hold both the home and power buttons for10-15 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Then release both buttons. Wait till your iPad starts on it's own. Try now. Also YouTube is still available. If you can't find it the the app store go to the bottom of the app store page and tap purchased. All your deleted apps will be listed and you can reinstall YouTube from there.

Why are Network Settings not Transferring from a Master DMG to the Desitination

Hi people,
can anyone assist me with finding out why Network Settings are NOT transferred from a source Master HD to a DMG to a Destination HD.
I have many hours spent trying to debug this - any pointers to a solution would be greatly appreciated.
Background:
I administer about 400 Macs of mixed types / generations (iMacs - MacBooks - MacBook Pro's).
We create master setups for different locations / purposes around the Campus and transfer these masters to DMGs.
We then clone the various macs as needed from these DMGs using a variety of methods including local (FW800 - USB) and network transfers.
The newest master (staffHD at 10-8-2) works perfectly but trying to clone / copy it by any method leaves out the custom network settings and you only end up with the default Wi-Fi / Ethernet / Firewire with total loss of the additional services and custom proxy settings.
Methods used to date to try the transfer (all get the same null result)
to-from DMG using Disk Utility
to-from Sparse Image via Disk Utility
to-from DMG using Carbon Copy Cloner
to-from Sparse Image via Carbon Copy Cloner
direct to 'target disk' via FW800 using Disk Utility
direct to 'target disk via FW800 using Carbon Copy Cloner

Everything BUT the network settings transfer perfectly (excluding of course the usual trackpad / mouse custom settings).
I guess something is wrong with this master source but for the life of me I can't work it out. I have seen it in the past but it seemed to work itself out with the next revision - this one just wont.

thanks for the reply - I suspected a hardware issue or some sort of privledges problem, but as far as I know have only had this problem with Mountain Lion, and it still fails on hardware like to like transfers. I was hoping to avoid needing anything addidtional but it looks like I'll have to.
