Why do swing app frameworks quirey the platform for osx?

I've been looking around at different implimentations of application frameworks based on swing and have noticed that they always quirey the platform to determine if they are running on mac os x. Why is that? Java swing programmers don't seem to be concerned if their app is running on linux, solaris or windows, why is osx a special concern? I haven't been able to determine much from looking at the code and it has me wondering why it should be a concern for me if I'm working on a swing based application.

Nevermind. Not being at all familiar with the apple operating system I was unaware that the menu bar was in a different place than either Unix, Linux or Windows operating systems. My first search on the topic did not produce the desired answer so I came here... maybe a little prematurely. Subsequent searches produced the answer. Sorry.

CS5 does not qualify for a platform swap. Adobe allows platform changes for the latest version only, which is CS6. The information regarding that is available thru the foillowing page...

If you just purchased the software then you should be able to return it to whatever third party vendor sold it to you for an exchange for the Mac version.

You don't. Platform swaps only apply to current versions. You need to buy at least the CS6 upgrade and make the switch.

What Swing UI framework is the best?

I am looking for a Swing UI framework that will do the following:
1. Render Swing UI in the client browser ( I think this is most likely done by Applet).
2. handle all event back on the server, including validating user input, button/mouse click, etc.
3. As compliant to open standard as possible
4. In terms of the technology, as mature as possible
5. possibly support PLAF for better GUI interface
6. Prefer good documentation for easy development
Note that I don't want the user to download new update everything I update my application logic on the server side. It doesn't matter if it is open source or not, please list all the good ones that you can think of.
I found SwingML, but don't know if it is good.

I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of the issue you are describing. If you are having issues with Pandora intermittently closing when it is not the primary app (backgrounded), you may want to try resetting your iPhone if you haven't done so recently:

With hindsight, the previous response I got from Apple was just a way of shelving the problem.
Having just had to reset my password after another 3 months, I contacted Apple again, and it happened that the senior advisor whom the phone agent consulted had had exactly the same problem as me, and had found that iTunes could fix it. However when I spoke to iTunes they told me I needed to speak to Apple ID account security. The Apple ID account security representative spoke to a senior adviser, then told me that it would be fixed after I reset my password. However I am not convinced that anything was actually done, so I may be back here in another 3 months ...
To modify Roger's advice, the solution I was given is: go to https://expresslane.apple.com ; select 'All Products and Services' in the first column, 'iTunes' in the second column, 'iTunes Store' in the third column, then "Account Management" and "Apple ID account security", then "Talk to Apple support now". A complication is that the "Talk to Apple support now" option only appears when UK English is selected. So you either need to select UK at the top, or find another way of making phone contact (the email link just went back to the person in iTunes)!

All Documents Numbers, Pages & Keynote missing after update Apps, What's the solutions for that problem?

I am using ipad 2 Wifi + 3G 64 GB, I had updated my ipad from ios 4.1.3 to ios 7.0.1 three week ago.
After that All aplication and all file can be opened properly well.
The problem came after I updated Keynote, Pages & Numbers, all files could not be opened & all file name is change from alphabetical to numerical. All file content 2 type of file, 1 BuildVersionHistory and the other one is index.
if i open the file ... spreadsheet can't be imported... the file format is invalid
or in Pages...
document can't be imported... the file format is invalid...
If I want to share that document via icloud ... Can't Send Spreadsheet.. To send this spreadsheet, open it in Numbers for iOS first.
In other case... I create a new file in Pages, Numbers or Keynote.. but all the new files can't view in Tab Apps when my ipad is connected to my mac pro via iTunes. If I create a file using other aplication (example using DocToGo), a new file that is created can be seen directly in iTunes Tab Apps DocToGo.
in this morning when i open Numbers all my files are disappear including new file without the reason at all, please give me the best solution. I need your help very very urgent.... since my working datas is very very important.

There may well be circumstances where documents in the cloud doesn't work for some people.
I myself have projects like you do, however our circumstances may be different or I may simply organise myself in a different way.
I tend to use documents in the cloud for working documents in progress, once they are completed they are then filed away in a more appropriate location. I do not try to use documents in the cloud for syncing my entire work history.

Well the first thing you could try, since the content is free, is to delete the video you've already downloaded and try again. However in this case I can confirm the video freeze frames as about 4:12 and the last 3 minutes plays with that static image and no audio.
Find the series in the iTunes Store and either use the Report a Concern link to report "Difficulty playing episode" or click the link for the series producer's website and look for contact information there. Point Blank have a contact form here.

Keeping apps on in the background for over 10 minutes?

I use irc and some times i keep it ont he background for hours on my macbook pro but on the ipad it keeps saying i have to open it every 10 minutes otherwise it disconnects and other similar apps... i know its supposed to save battery but i really would like to keep it open non stop for as many hours as i like as i have a charger next to me that it can be plugged into...
I am trying to replace my macbook pro with the ipad for the summer as the macbook pro burns my legs after ages of using it even with a matt lap top thing to stop it burning my legs it just takes longer, but the only thing stopping me being able to do so is my downloads and the fact that irc keeps wanting to close after 10 minutes, it would be great if there was some kind of exeption list where it would just stay on for as long as i want.. is this possible?

This means that a user interaction via a notification is necessary or the iOS will terminate the app after 10 minutes.

I have not had this problem until recently. prior to today, I could go into iTunes App Store and a show or movie I already own is available for download but now it shows the cost. I dare click on it for fear of being double billed. This is frustrating because iTunes just started allowing us to access our purchased content without connecting to the computer and downloading them as often as we wanted. Is this problem affecting others or just me?

I started having the same problem yesterday.
In fact, I just now downloaded a free app. With the app now on my PC, it still shows that it is "free" rather than "downloaded" on the iTunes app page. I moved the .jpa file out of the default folder, and refreshed the app page in iTunes. Similarly, it does not show a "download" option like it should. It makes re-downloading apps that I have paid for in the past difficult if there is not the "download" bar to indicate that I am entitled to the app.
It's probably related, but at one point last night I had a bunch of apps with available updates. I tried to go to the iTunes page on my PC to view the apps with updates. At that point I got a pop-up window stating that I did not have any updates available, and it has been zero ever since. I did not download the updates, nor did all of the apps disappear from the iTunes catalog.
I have an iPad 2 and recently got an iPod Touch. I want to re-download some non HD apps for the Touch that I ditched for HD versions on the iPad. I, too, do not want to be re-billed.

Ok i have been wanting to get an iPhone for a while now. About 8 months ago a bunch of us in our company upgraded our phones and most of us got new blackberry's because thats what we always had. One person decided to get an iPhone. When i tried to set up the e-mail for them it just didnt work well at all. Some e-mail came in, most didnt. An e-mail would go out, but most wouldnt. There was no rhyme or reason for it. We were missing tons of e-mails and in our industry i cant afford to miss e-mails and have them not come through, or not being able to reply to them. We dont use AOL, or Gmail, or any of those, but our e-mail is not on an exchange server. It is POP3. I was thinking that maybe the e-mail has gotten better and maybe it will work now? Well at least im hoping... Any ideas?

Although a POP account can be accessed with more than one email client, a POP account is designed to be accessed with a single email client only. If the account is being accessed with an email client on the one person's computer and the email client on the one person's computer is launched and running actively checking the incoming mail server for new messages while the iPhone's Mail client is doing the same, only one email client can be checking the incoming mail server for new messages and/or downloading new messages at a time.
In addition, what is the account setting with the email client used on the computer for accessing the account for removing messages from the server when downloaded? If set to remove messages from the server when downloaded and the email client is actively checking the account for new messages and downloading new messages received at the server while the iPhone's Mail client is doing the same, the messages downloaded with the email client on the computer will be removed from the server when downloaded so the messages will not be available for the iPhone's Mail client to download when the iPhone's Mail client checks the incoming mail server for new messages afterwards.
Does the account have an authenticated SMTP server?
If not, there will be problems sending messages with the account depending on the the internet service provider being used for the internet connection at the time.

You have a pirated app that is from the MAS and the app has been cracked with the MAS receipt from an app acquired with this person's MAS account. Get rid of your pirated apps to get rid of the issue.
Whichever was that last app that you downloaded for free from somewhere, rather than paying for it in the MAS, is likely the culprit.
