Why do the electrical adapters for Apple mobile devices always develop a crack in the wire casing?
Almost every Apple mobile adapter I've had must be replaced after a year or so.
You'd think that if they can create such brilliant products, they could supply us
with a durable cord which cannot cause shocks or shorts. I've spent hundreds
on replacement laptop adapters. It's highly irritating.
Your obviously a huge apple fan and going to defend it's lack of functionality. A print function is not going to effect battery life, nor decrease hard drive space. If it was intended purely as a toy then why include software to write documents and create spreadsheets. I don't know many people who create spreadsheets for fun.
What about people wanting to print photo's. 'There's an app for that'
I personally think it's a huge oversight and a major disappointment for the iPad. If it is capable of it why not include it.
I agree. I think a camera is a ridiculous thing to have on the iPad.....but you should be able to connect a camera o it and upload photo's.
If apple hadn't left so many features off of the original iphone i would probably just accept that this is what apple intended the product to be used for and tough luck if it doesn't do what i want it to. But Apple left so many simple features off of the iphone it was ridiculous. They revolutionised the mobile phone but at the same time took it back 5 years in functionality. No MMS, No multi delete, no multi sms recipients.........etc.
For a company so keen on selling top notch products to as many people as possible it seems crazy not to have a print function. Loads of businesses would use this if it had. I'm not the only one that thinks it's crazy not having a print function....just do a google search and there are thousands more asking the same thing.
Adding a print function could probably sell a couple of million more units.
It is a computer by the way....it runs an OS system. It has programs......it's just not a fully functional computer!
Apparently Stove Jobs has said via an email that printing will come.......if it;s going to come then why wasn't it here to start with!

I am trying to update my iTunes to 10.5.1 so that I can upgrade my 3GS phone but am getting the following error message when trying to install the itunes: Install step failed: Run pre upgrade script for apple mobile device support. Contact software manufacturer for assistance. I am on a MacBook pro running 10.5.8 OS. Has anyone seen this before and how can I get it resolved.
Thanks for your help in advance....Did you ever figure out the problem? "Contact Software Manufacturer"?? That sounds ominous... I've got the same issue and I'm pretty durn aggravated right about now....
Thanks! -
I have an older Macbook with OS/X. Tried to download iTunes 10 a few times now, but when installing I always get the same error message: Run Preinstall Script for Apple Mobile Device Support. What can I do to finalise the installation?
Thanks. Short of the sort of "generic" suggestions of restaring your system, if you haven't, and repairing disk permissions and verifying the disk, I don't have any advice right now. I'll do some research and see if I can come across anything. Meanwhile, someone else may have an idea.

I've been trying to upgrade to/install Itunes 10. When trying to do so, I get the error message: Install failed run preupgrade for Apple Mobile Device Support.
Per what I saw as a response to someone else who had a similar issue, I thought a fix might be to uninstall my existing Itunes, then try to re-install the Itunes 10. I tried that. However, I still get the same error message. Now, I have no Itunes.
I tried to email Apple, and they have not replied.
Anyone offer any solutions?me too did you get any help?

Yes another user with problem with Apple Mobile Device Support, I am getting the error message: Service 'Apple Mobile Device'(Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Vertify that you have sufficient privileges to start system service....I hit retry and it came up again. I hit ignore and it prompted me to hit finish so Itunes can open. I looked thru alot of these posts on here to try and resolve this problem myself but it's not working too well...I downloaded Itunes to my desktop so I can right click it with the program i downloaded called WinRAR. I extracted it and then went into the folder called Itunes64setup. I saw the file called AppleMobileDeviceSupport64 in there so I began to try and download it on it's own. Well that didn't work as I planned and got this error message:
Apple Mobile Device Support wasn't installed on your computer. The installer encountered errors before Apple Mobile Device Support could be configured. Your system has not been modified. To retry these operations at a later time, please run the installer again.
Well I tried to run it again and came up with the same message...I see that some people got great support to help them so I am hoping someone can help me as well. I know "b nor" is very qualfied and hopefully can help me! Please advise what I can do. Thank youHi Iss9243,

When attempting to reinstall iTunes, I get the following message "Service (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services" Any help appreciated
Hi emelville,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. You may need to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service. This article has instructions that may help:
How to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Windows

If that doesn't resolve the issue, I would recommend trying a thorough uninstall and reinstall of iTunes as described here:
