Why do the maps app bookmarks are erased every time I switch to another app?

I am encountering several problems with the new maps application which are not related to the mapping data itself.
My problems are:
Every bookmark I keep dissapears after a while (mostly after I switch to another app, but sometimes it takes a little more switching before the bookmark is gone).
I cannot access bookmarks when I try to set a route. There is no option to choose a starting/end point from a contact address or bookmark.
Am I doing something wrong? I could not find any reference in other forums describing this problem and would appreciate any help.
P.S.
The first problem I describe was present also for the old maps application on iPhone 4S and iPhone 3.

Thanks for explaining how app's loss of state can happen. However, I'm sure that the behavior of the four apps I mentioned is much worse than just a few months ago. Something must have changed, and iOS 7 is the main difference. The Kindle app behaves as it used to, but the others do not. Maybe I should note the problem in reviews of the apps themselves in the App Store -- and down rate the apps.

While all you want is just to place pins, realize that Motion has so much more. All kinds of effects and they can be really customized. Maybe put their street address, contact name, and phone number by the pin?

If you're using the map for, say, deliveries, and use an iPad, what you could do is have a general map of the area imported into Motion, create the pins and whatever, then save (share?) it to the iPad.

Try booting in Safe Mode by holding the the shift key immediately after powering on your system. Safe boot mode will for a directory check of your startup volume, then load only the required kernal extensions (kext files), and deletes some cache files. Once the system boots into Safe Mode you can simply restart the system to see whether the issue has been resolved.
If you still have the issue try resetting the SMC by shutting down the system and disconnecting the power cord for ~15 seconds, then reconnecting the power cord. Next, reset the parameter RAM (PRAM) by holding down the option-option-P-R keys after powering ON the system. Wait until the iMac restarts twice, then let the system boot normally.

In v.4.0 my app tabs are erased each time I log off.

I recently installed Firefox v.4.0 on my Mac v.10.5.8. Each time I set up app tabs they are erased when I log back in. They are apparently cancelled when I log out of Firefox and shut down the computer.

NOT a website issue; but the canned choices are bad. Why must the Extensions window launch with FF every time??

This canned menu is as bad as the cable company's. I do NOT want to start in safe/without extensions; but I am tired of having the Extensions box pop up on every browser start. can this be stopped?

This issue can happen if there is a problem with the file extensions.rdf in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder].
Norton software has been reported to cause problems with the extensions registry file extensions.rdf in the profile folder with the result that all extensions are enabled with every start of Firefox and incompatible extensions will need a manual compatibility check in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" (Find Updates) in such cases.

Why does the plug-in checker pop up every time I open fire fox?

Since yesterday every time I open fire fox the mozilla plug-in checker loads in a tab (in addition to my set home page) . How do I disable this?

Why does the solution center prompt for cd every time?

My HP 8500 constantl;y prompts for me to insert the CD each time I try to scan. I have lost the CD, and just paid $10 to get a new one, but it is very annoying! How do I stop this?

There is something missing in your Scanning software.
The Solution Center is like a dog with a bone about missing stuff.
Something to try/consider:
See the Solution on this Post - it has the information that might help you correct your Solution Center woes.

If, for some reason, you cannot download new software for your printer as outlined in the above Post,
and you really do not want to wait for your new CD, then you can Uninstall the Solution Center Software from your computer. See the warning below.
Uninstalling your Solution Center:
BE AWARE: If you elect to uninstall Solution Center to make it stop annoying you...Your printer might still work after you reboot and let the computer try and install some standard drivers - HOWEVER, it will only work with whatever "bare bones" drivers are available on your system. The very best scenerio: You find at the Solution Center link a way to download the Full Featured Software for your HP8500 printer and it fixes your scanning error.

Google and Apple have apparently parted ways in the 'bundled apps' area.
If you don't like the bundled map app, then your option is to look for a replacement in the app store.

Hi Experts,
We have a EDI to JDBC scenario wherein the incoming EDI files (ANSI X12) will picked up by XI and sends to Backend system and it was working fine. Today when i check the file folder, the EDI files are not picking up by XI system and when I check the Communication channel the below is the error message. Can anybody let me know how to workaround for this issue?

Dear Abdul
If the mapping is there and the PI system is throwing an error that "Mapping not Found" then please try refreshing the cache.
First try Partial and if it does'nt work then go for Full Cache Refresh.
Alternatively if yours is a Java mapping, try relading the code (zip file) and activate the channel.

Close all apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app.

It means that it is not connected to the Internet, so it may be turned off. Another option would be that somebody has resetted it to default settings and has changed the Apple ID, being impossible to track your son's iPhone. Anyway, report it to the police because it is the only thing you can do at the moment

I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.
