Why do the table borders in MS Word appear thicker in PDF?

Hi,
I am trying to covert a MS Word document to PDF using Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional. The word document contains tables with thick (1.5 points) outer border and thin (1 point) cell borders. When I convert this to PDF, all the borders in the tables appear of the same thickness and thicker than what they are in Word.
I request your kind help in figuring out how to convert it to PDF so that the tables retain the original formatting done in Word.
System info:
OS: Wondows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 2
Processor: Intel Pentium M (1.70 Ghz)
Ram: 512 MB

One thing that you might want to try is to change the printer resolution to 300 or 600, rather than the default 1200 dpi. I am working from memory, but it is under the advanced tab I think and you will find a screen that appears to be a list of items. One is the print resolution or such. The default on that is 1200dpi and it is often a source of this problem.
It may be also that WORD and Acrobat extrapolate for the screen differently. So what you see in WORD may actually not be what is being produced.
Not sure I much more help to give, but see if that leads you somewhere. If you can't find it, let me know and I will look on my other machine.

Not possible.
No version of Adobe Reader can:
--| create PDF
--| manipulate PDF page content
--| export PDF page content
Adobe Reader XI does provide a "connection" to various Adobe hosted online subscription services (that are under "acrobat.com").
There is a subscription services can create PDF from supported file formats that are uploaded to the service.
This subscription service is "PDF Pack".
With an active (paid up) subscription to a service one can make use of the service.

Why are the planned orders not displayed anymore. They are still in the system - in MD04 - but since we moved from release 3.1i to 4.0 the plan order qty disappeared from transaction MCP9!!!!.Now we are using Version 4.7
There must be a reason
Perhaps searching in SAP OSS system -if the transaction is not supported in rel 4.0 anymore and we should use something else instead
Or we need to apply an OSS note from SAP to repair the problem...
Or the info system update must be modified because of rel change... I don't know.

HT1338 why is it that when emailing a word document or a pdf file the recipient receives an unreadable file from me?

Question: why is it that when I email either a word document or a pdf file the receipient of my email get these files in an unreadable format i.e. not in word file nor in pdf file formats, and consequently they are unable to open these files and read them? Thank you!

Why is the table so slow?

When using a table with a large number of cells (e.g. 20 columns and 800 rows the table becomes very slow. Is there a way to speed up?

Probably that problem is that you haven't created any data dependency between writing to the property node and executing the main loop. If you place a sequence structure around the writing to the property node to make sure that it happens before executing the loop it should help. See example. hope this helps.

Why does the bar code look "chubby" when I save to PDF?

Hi, I'm designing a book cover for a client in Illustrator, and it has a bar code on the back of it. When I save the file as an .ai or a .png or .jpeg, it appears fine. But when I save the file as a .pdf (which my client will be viewing, and for print), the bar code looks like the lines have gotten bigger or run together! It's really weird...no matter which preset I use, it appears like this (I've attached a screenshot). I've also tried the "flatten transparency" and converting the numbers to outlines, but they still tend to distort when the pdf is viewed.
Any suggestions on how to fix this, or why this might be happening? It scares the client when they see it....
The lines in the picture are MUCH thicker than the actual bar code, and some appear to have blended together.

In the Preferences area of Adobe Reader, go to the Page Display tab, and
make sure that "Enhance thin lines" is unchecked. That seemed to solve
most of my problems with the type! Hope that works for you too!

What generation is your neighbour's and what generation is yours??
Sometimes the changes in the TC and firmware can make wireless fail.. also location is important.. the location of your neighbours might be better than yours.. his also might interfere with yours.. set a fixed channel and try the various channels.

Sure, but you need to work out how the network is going to work.. if you are still picking up network from wireless.. then set static ip for the TC in a different IP range.. set no gateway (router ip) or dns and it will work just fine.

Why is the Boot Disc Selection screen always appearing?

WIth a bootcamp partition on an iMac booting while holding down the Option key will cause the boot disk selection screen to appear, but suddenly I'm getting the boot disk selection screen even WITHOUT holding down the Option key. Why?

Well it might take a little longer since POST (power-on self test) needs to check more memory.
But try doing a smc and pram reset and see if that helps.

Find the number of times a word appears

In Google Chrome find/search (ctrl+F) it will tell you how many times the word you are finding appears.
In Firefox I know you can find things (also ctrl+F) but is there any way in which you can find how many times that word appears, like in Chrome.

Any help please, anyone?

Why does the first track on an album appear after the other tracks?

When I downloaded iTunes and did an initial media scan, it added all my music files. However, on some of the albums added, not all, the first track is listed after the other tracks. For instance, the track list goes from 2-13 and then 1. This is only happening on some of my multi-disc albums, again not all, and not on the single disc albums. One of the tracks on Disc 2 actually appears on Disc 2 but has Disc 1 written above it. I am running the latest version of iTunes on Windows 7 Home Premium edition, and everything else seems to work fine. This is what I've tried on my own so far, all without success;
1.) I've checked the track 1 properties using "get info" and compared them to other tracks. They seem fine.
2.) I've deleted the track 1 songs and re-added them, but they return the same way.
3.) I've deleted the entire albums and re-added them, but the problem remains.
Does anyone have any ideas about what's causing this bit of weirdness?

I had this problem too, and for a long time it aggravated me. I found that you just have to keep importing the cd, again and again, until it sounds ok. Select only the tracks that are fuzzy to speed things up. Hope this helps.

I just sined up and logged into my account and tried to convert an aadobe PDF to a word doc and thats as far as I get the file does not upload. The upload indicator just goes around in circles??

Hello All,
I learnt that in our Portal database, there is a table named "<b>WCR_WEBCNODESTAT</b>" which contains all data related to user interaction with EP...meaning one can retrieve data like 'currently logged users' with its details, etc.
But when I navigated to this table, it was empty.
How is this possible? If yes, please explain the reason?

Hi there
In addition to what Peter advised, my own guess as to why they are disabled (grayed out) is probably because you don't have more than one defined? It would make sense that unless more than one of each was present, they would be unavailable.
Now if you *DO* have more than one of each defined, I'm at a loss to explain why they might be presented in a disabled state.
