If it backed up to my laptop, that died and I just got the new computer. The one that's crashed won't even boot, so there's no way to even tell if it was syncing the contacts along with all the phone photos. Literally happened at the same time - it was because I had the new computer that I was finally able to pull the photos off the phone and make room for the upgrade. It had refused to upgrade for lack of space for some time.
I had thought it was set to sync to iCloud but it vanished from BOTH my phone and the cloud. That's why I'm so angry about it. -
I have the original iPad and when I sync it with my macbook pro in iPhoto the faces key photo aren't the same on both devices, how can I get them to be the same as on the computer

Why were the older entries in my calendar erased and how do I get them back?
All of the personal entries into my calendar are gone. The only entries still appearing are all Holidays and all personal entries for the last quarter of 2014. All entries made for the rest of 2014 are gone. I checked The Cloud and they're not there either. Why did they automatically delete and how do I get them back?
Thanks so much, you are absolutely correct. I must admit that I didn't realize that meant past entries on the calender were swept away after a certain period of time.
The setting is fixed now (thanks to you), but is there any was of retrieving the data that was erased ?? -
When I open an event, including flagged items, the photos appear one by one, not as thumbnails, so I can't export more than one phot at a time. How do I get iPhoto to show the thumbnails?
I've tried rebuilding the thumbnail database, but that hasn't helped.What version of iPhoto and system are you running?
Try moving the Zoom slider at the bottom of the iPhoto window all the way to the left. Does that let more than one photo display in the window?

I have Notes that transferred to an Email acct when I set up the acct. The Notes no longer appear in the Notes app only in the Email acct. How do I get them out of the Email acct and back to Notes? I stopped at an Apple store and they told me to copy them from the email back to Notes. But when I was in the email acct, I could not find a way to copy them. Shouldn't Notes remain in Notes unless I specifically send them somewhere else?
Go into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, select that email account on the right-hand side of the screen and turn Notes 'on' for it - they should then appear in the Notes app instead of as an email folder in the Mail app (they will still be linked to that email account, so you may need to tap the 'Accounts' button at at the top left of the list of notes)

Perhaps the copyright holders chose to remove them. What album were you after?

Ive just updated my iPhone4 to the IOS5 software and i have lost all my apps? why? and how can i get them back?
When an iPhone updates, it wipes the whole device clean and then reinstalls the software and then the backup. Obviously you didn't create/couldn't create a backup either via iCloud or iTunes. You can get your apps back when you go to App Store>Updates>Purchased and download the apps you want.

In the simplest sense, archiving a file means making a copy that you never change and never discard. You already know how to do that.
iPhoto has built-in archival features, in the sense that it saves all versions of an image that you've modified. As long as you have adequate backups, you don't necessarily have any reason to archive an iPhoto library. If you want to delete images from the working library but still have access to them in case you change your mind, then you do need to archive those images. I don't have a specific suggestion as to how you should do that. You might post a question in the iPhoto forum. -

I have a Personas account. The brown fox icon was present in the bottom left corner of my screen before the latest version of Firefox downloaded, but is not there anymore. I have to go to the Personas web site now whenever I want to manage my Persona. Previously, all I had to do was click on the brown fox, and do what I wanted to do from there.

I'm working on a movie in FCP and using cutaways and titles in many places in the timeline. While working on a movie 2 days ago, and I don't know what I did, all the cutaways and titles are now linked to the movie clips from below rather than above. When I "grab" them and drag them up to the top-side, as soon as I "release", they go back down. Along the menu bar, I've check the "view", "modify", "clips", etc., looking for any thing that might refer to appearance of the time line. What must I do to get the cutaways and titles back on top where they belong? The audio clips remained properly-linked to the time line and play properly. The cutaways and titles can be seen but do not play.

If it's apps that you've downloaded from the App Store that you're having the problem with, and the Apple built-in apps are ok, then try downloading any free app from the store (as that appears to reset something) and then re-try them - the free app can then be deleted.

I'm not even sure what to call this or how it got started on my computer. There is one finder window for firefox, and another for other programs etc. I want them all back in the same finder window, please! What feature is this which got things split up, and how do I disable it?

[email protected]The Get Info. fields show up gray if the files is locked and iTunes knows it can't edit the file. Make sure the files are not marked as read only and, if necessary grant both your account and system full access to all files and subfolders of your media folder.
You can set Part of a Compilation for multiple tracks from the Options tab of Get Info.
