Why do we have a "Save"

The default menu of an Applet (when it loads) has a Save option.
It saves the Applet in a .ser format.
Can this .ser format file be used anyway? It can not be opened with appletviewer.exe.

I have no idea but apparently it is a seralized copy of the applet.

A "serialized applet" might also be the result of a GUI builder. The advantage of this approach is that it can be used to pre-configure some of the properties of the applet.

Why do you have to save everything in the EX24?

when you load a sample into the EX24 why is that you have to save every single sound? I mean fair enough if you you get a great sample you know your going to use quite a bit then you should have the option to save it.It is just bit annoying having to name,file and categorize all these sounds you know you wont use in any other track so what I would like to know is there any other way you load a sample in to logic and map to your keyboard without having to create a "sampler instrument".I know the obvious solution is to use another sampler so if anyone can give some suggestions that would be great.

Just created an Instrument, didn't close the Instrument Editor, didn't save the Instrument, saved the Project, re-opened it and the unnamed Instrument still sat there.
But frankly, I don't see the difficulty in saving an EXS instrument.

The main problem with malware is that it uses the installation to proliferate by contacting hostile servers to download more of the same rogue code.
Firefox doesn't have the option to "Run" a file. You can only "Save File" or "Cancel". If you downloaded it with IE8, then yes, you can run it, but that's not what I wanted you to do.
What you should do now is to disable System Restore. You can open System Properties by hitting the Windows logo key and Pause/Break key together. Then click the "System Restore" tab. Then checkmark the box which says "''Turn off System Restore on all drives''". Reboot to clear its contents. System Restore unfortunately makes a backup of all executables which includes viruses so that when you reboot without deleting them first, System Restore reinstates them again.
After you complete that step, run Avast and Malwarebytes again to make sure the system is clean.
Then go to the Windows Update site (link on your start menu) and install the missing patches which enabled your machine to become infected in the first place.
Once the system is clean, repeat step one to download Firefox again, but please do not run the file. If you don't see the option to "Save File", cancel the download, but it should be there. Run the file after you download it to the desktop.

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox. 
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

I was just able to. I am in Illustrator 6 on a Mac OS 10.6. I started a new action and went through the menu just like your screen shot, chose my options and clicked ok, then stopped recording the action.
I found to use the action I had to have something selected.
I see that you are in Illustrator CC, perhaps there is a difference there. But for the record, on my system, it worked.

Delete iWork in entirely, use Appcleaner to do this quickly, its free.
empty the trash
download iWork again from the App store
reinstall iwork
repair permissions: applications > utilities > disk utility > first aid: click on the system disc then click repair disc permissions
reboot and report back your findings

It works in Internet Explorer because they are not strict about this "Javascript access to clipboard" feature but Firefox is b/c they think it's a security risk since the website can read and copy whatever you put into the clipboard.
So long story short, certain websites use text editors that make it impossible to copy & paste stuff from them to other areas where you want to copy & paste. You could try all the stuff I mentioned above (although it's a bit nerdy) or you can save yourself the trouble/frustration and just use Internet Explorer when browsing these websites.
If you hate switching between IE & Firefox just to check a few sites, try the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ie-tab-2-ff-36/ IE Tab addon]. It lets you use Internet Explorer inside Firefox by opening it in a special tab. Don't ask me how they do it. :P But it works.

I have now solved it. I signed out of my iTunes account and then held down both the power buttons until the apple appeared. When I signed back in it started downloading.

Why do I have to import?

When I use CMD E to transfer an image from Lightroom to Photoshop and after adjustments use the "save as" button to return the adjusted image back to the same file name, why do I have to return to the same file in Lightroom and import the image into the same file in order for the image to be visible in the Lightroom folder? Whee, forgive me for such a long sentence.
I would think that there would be a way to "save as" back into the same file and have the image be visible without importing. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I'm not sure that this is germane but I have the bridge program turned off.

At present Photoshop and Lightroom have no way of communicating with each other, so using "Save As" has the "potential" to break the tracking link that Lightroom has with the original file. The link will definitely break if you save to an alternative location, use a new name or extension, however, it should be maintained if the file is saved back to the same location using the same name and extension. By using the "Save" command you are guaranteeing no changes to these three parameters i.e. you're simply "replacing" the file that was exported from Lightroom with a newer version.
Bridge is not a factor in this process. Nevertheless, it might be worth noting that there is a small script loaded when you launch Bridge that enables it and Photoshop to communicate with each other. Until such times as Photoshop and Lightroom have similar abilities, which will not be for some time, we're stuck with the the current procedure.

Hey, I just had this problem, I went into Settings -> Privacy-> Facebook (which is where I was saving photos from) -> turned it on, then back to settings -> Facebook-> and logged in. When I went back to Facebook and saved a photo and it saved to my camera roll. I haven't tried it with anything else yet though. Hope this helps!

I have to save logic 9.1.8 before I can quit the program.. I am running osx 10.6.8

This issue is driving me crazy. I am running Logic 9.1.8 with OSX 10.6.8. I am working logic in 64bit on a macpro 2,1 so I cannot run any higher OS. I have to save then I can quit logic. This seems crazy to me. I have 12gb of ram and 2 tb internal drive. My machine is a dual 3 ghz intel core. Does anybody know why this is happening.
