Why do you sometimes see inline and external styles?

Question

Inline probably isn't the right term. So you often see in the
source maybe a few line of styles inbetween the head tag as well as
an eternal stylesheet, the external stylesheet which contains most
of the styles?
Why not just put all the styles in the external SS, is there
a reason for this ?

Never mention anything about link elements misplaced. Anyway,
probably
you're right but the reason I mentioned it was because it did
happen to
someone that built a simple static site and never got
indexed. We
suggested him to remove the link element within the body
section. And
surprisingly his site was indexed in the next couple of days.
So my
conclusion at that time was that the bot stop crawl the site
when it
reach the link element in the body section and for that
reason was't able
to index the page. Probably a naïve conclusion but it's
what I thought.
