Why does a folder show up next to the tool bar in finder?
How did it GET there? How do I get rid of it??!!
You can drag shortcuts there. If you want to remove it, hold down the Command key and drag it off.

FCP x (trial) , does not have a "share" button in the tool bar

did you get an answer to the question on how to export a file in the trial version of FCPX? In my trial version there is no "share" button in the toolbar at the top of the screen.
When i select file -> share -> .... i get a "blank" destinations screen, giving me no options as to where to export to.
Can anyone help as this is my first project in FCPX and without exporting/sharing it is not worth purchasing the product.
BTW my file size is 13GB - could this have anything to do with my issue?Yes, Share is in the File menu now (as well as to the far right of the tool bar). If it is blank, something is wrong. Try using the free application "Preference Manger" from Digital Rebellion to trash the FCPX pref files. If that doesn't work, move the application from the Application folder to the Trash. Then launch the App Store, in the Purchases section, click "Install" to the right of Final Cut Pro X (it will not effect your Projects and Events at all, they stay safe).
File or project size shouldn't matter. This is not a very common issue, but in the rare instances it does show up, one of the two solutions above will fix it. -
Why does my video show up cropped in the timeline??
In the preview my video comes out fine, but when I drag into the timeline the video is cropped. I have no idea why this is. Does anyone know how to fix?

I recently created a new iphoto library. It seems now that when I hold down the option key and open iphoto I now have 2 iphoto libraries (both the same library) as well as my new library which is now my default as I intended but why would I now have 2 listed the same in this box? When I go to finder>pictures there is only the 2!! I hope I am making sense!
Try the following to see if you can get rid of the ghost:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
or with Lion and Mt. Lion from the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE 1: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder. -

Why does Firefox's Maximize/Minimize tab in the bottom bar switch alternately from Green to Grey?
I am running Firefox 3.6.13 under Mint 9, LXDE Edition. I've noticed its Maximize/Minimize tab in the bar across the bottom of the screen blinks alternately between green and light gray. I've never witnessed this phenomenon while running Firefox under other Linux distros or Windows. Does anyone know what it means?

put movies in itunes on one computer why does it not show up when i access itunes from other computers or ipad2?
i just purchased a file that had videos in it. i put them in the itunes library on my pc where i first downloaded them. i was able to transfer them to my other pc, a laptop, through my home network. i am now trying to get them on my mac pro desktop and my ipad2. my mac pro can see the other computers on my home network but i cannot get it to connect to them. i know the operating systems are different but was hoping i could transfer pictures and files from pc to mac this way. haven't been able to get it to work yet. the videos i am trying to get my mac to see came in a folder with both mac and pc versions. i thought if i got the videos i purchased into itunes that i would then be able to get them to my mac pro and my ipad2. i am new to mac/apple and have always been pc-centric so trying to marry it all has been difficult. i speak pc pretty well but am just learning apple. am i trying to do things that are not possible? i sure could use a knowledgable friendly soul to walk me through my issues of having pc and mac on the same network. i have been able to get all computers and ipad to print on my network. thanks.

Check the right and left sides of your iPad for a small hole the size of a paper clip (remove your smart cover if you have one). If you see this, then you have the wifi + cellular model. If you do, use a paper clip to remove the sim tray (or the sim removal tool that came with your iPad if you have it) as shown in the image below.
If the tray has a sim card in it, push the sim tray back in to re-seat it in the side of the iPad, then turn it on to see if the error message re-appears. If it re-appears, take it to a Verizon store and have them give you a new sim card.
If you have a sim tray but it is empty, you'll need to go to a Verizon store to get a sim card for it. -

Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

The cloud logo means that you purchased these songs from the iTunes Store but haven't downloaded them to your computer yet. If you want, click the clouds to download the songs and the cloud logo's will disappear for those songs too. -
