Why does Apple India doesn't Accept Debit Cards While Apple US Does???

It's only Apple India which does not accept DEBIT CARDS but Apple U.S. does accept Debit Cards. I saw this while trying ton upgrade Apple QuickTime 7 to Pro.
SO PLEASE DON'T SAY TO ALL THAT "APPLE DOES NOT ACCEPT DEBIT CARDS, WHICH IS A BIG LIE".

India is a particular problem for Apple. While the basics for ordering are set up, the means of payment are more restrictive; you can only use the means outlined in my earlier post.
While we here cannot speak for Apple, I understand the Indian Government's insistence on the majority ownership of shares being owned by Indian nationals, is the stumbling block. Were that to be resolved, other facilities like means of payment might be resolved too.

Debit cards are no longer accepted in the iTunes Store, it seems. The current valid payment methods are listed here:

You can try contacting the iTunes Store and asking if there is any way to use your card, but they probably will tell you that it's not possible.

Why won't Apple accept debit cards? I ordered 2 new iPhones at ATT on Monday using my debit card. I was just notified by ATT that Apple wont accept debit cards so my order cannot go through. I don't use credit cards so I don't carry debt!

They (ATT) re-emphasized this is not their policy, but Apple's and that I would have the same problem if I went to Verizon. Is this really the policy and if so why? I think this is an AT&T thing not an Apple policy, I had this battle with them before when the 4s came out.So this time I went directly to the Apple stor, I had no problem pre-ordering my Iphone5 on the 14th with my debit card, already shipped will be here the 21st. I'd go straight to the Apple store and purchase them there...

Why can't I just use my debit card for adding my child to family share?!

I want to use my child on family share but can't because I don't need or want a credit card, my bank has fraud protection, who actually just called me about fraud because I purchased the newest iPhone! I don't like credit cards. Why can't I just use my debit card as usual? Kids can get credit cards just as easily as they can debit cards! This is ridiculous. Why isn't there another option to verify I am the parent?! I am so beyond angry right now. Like I am being punished for not owning a credit card!! Otherwise there will be another way to do this. A person should have the freedom to use their chosen form of payment without missing out on all the options available. Honestly even if I wanted a credit card I haven't enough credit because of past mistakes. So this is not making me happy at all.

I feel your pain. We refuse to have credit cards, too; yet it's required in order to create a child's apple id. I will most definitely be leaving feedback with Apple. This is absolutely ridiculous that we can't just use our debit cards! Mine is a VISA. I use it to make CREDIT CARD transactions everywhere else, why not be able to use it the same way here!?
I just had to restore my sons phone because he forgot his 4-digit password and got it disabled. I didn't have it already on my itunes so my only option was to restore it. I wanted to create his own apple id so he didn't have to keep using mine. Because every time he downloads a new game it automatically ends up on MY device as well, not just his. Anyway, he needs his own apple id. But, apparently, that won't be happening until Apple gets their heads out of their butts and figures out how to serve ALL of their customers!

Because that's the only explanation for why my card won't go through when trying to buy on iTunes. It's my debit card from my bank but I have been able to buy online with it on 99% of websites. If not I will be super mad lol. Thanks for any help!

Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is critical. Note that you can do this only when creating a new Apple ID. You cannot use an existing ID.
You will of course not be able to get anything other than the free apps without entering in some sort of payment method (credit card, prepaid iTunes card, gift certificate, etc.).

For a card to have a chance of being accepted it needs to be registered to the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, and have been issued by a bank in the country where you and your iTunes account are. Why did the App Store bill my debit card for the entire app fee when I had money on my account?

I bought a Music Studio app recently that costed $15 and I had $15.04 on my account. I was aware this wasn't enough for tax, so I tried to use a debit card when it said I had insufficient funds. After the process, it took no money off of my account, but billed the debit card for the entire fee. Can I get this payment rearranged? Or a refund?

Why was I required to provide credit/debit card information in order to obtain an Apple ID?

I Have and At&t account with four phones and two tablets. When I tried to create an Apple ID for my mother on her iPhone 4, it required credit/debit carinformation. However, on all my other devices (under the same account ), I was not required to provide credit or debit information. I had the option not to enter that information.
Also, I am very hesitant to put any information if that type on the Internet. I will never. I was hacked into very badly and have spent a lot of money to resolve the issue. I feel it is still not resolved. On one of my new iPhone 6, it crashed and said it was due to a third party. What does that mean... I am resorting to you guys for help. No one has helped nor cares to help me with this problem. My laptops are junk, my phones were junk, etc. All of this due to one person who I am 99.9% sure of his identity. However, authorities do not care nor Internet companies hacking department nor Dell's hacking department. I have changed my router, passwords, web key, phones, tablets. I have paid Dell to resolve the problem on my laptops. Nothing has stopped this person. I do not know what to do... I am simply frustrated and do not trust anything anymore online. I do not even trust asking this question because he will probably answer....

The "hacker" was a friend I mine, I thought until I started to notice unusual activity and my internet settings were changed. About a year ago, I asked him for help with setting up my computer, iPhone 4, and tablet for my company. My brother and I run a small HVAC company. I trusted this individual and left my laptop at his house. At that time I never thought he would do what he did. I stupidly gave him my email password and Apple ID. Whenhe returned my computer, I started to notice that my internet settings were changed. He changed my Internet from being a"home" wifi connection to a "business" with DNS, adapters, etc. I am not computer savy on how they operate and all of the different Internet options. I just know how to use computers, not programing or changing the operating system, like DOS. However, I noticed the change in my Internet settings along with other things. An administrator account was made, certificates were installed, and I was unable to change certain things on my phone and computer. I called Dell for help, I pleaded with them to let me send the laptop to them because I do not know enough to be able to tell you everything that needs to be fixed/changed. They would not let me and said it coyld be fixed over the phone. I paid $400 and they said, the problem is fixed and my internet/computer issues are resolved. I only think they got my computer back on line and increased the security. I do not think they fix the problem and currently one of my laptops is blue screened. I also believe he put something in my CD drive and believe he reversed the camera to look through it. Hence, I put post its over it to block the view. To this day, I cover the camera. I do not know what he did nor everything he did. I been reading up on security and hacking. I think he may have installed a key stroke logger but I do not know enought to truely know if he did. I have called authorities, spoken with many internet companies, talked with Verizon (my wifi provider), At&t my phone/tablet company, apple and many other people. I have changed passwords, my router, my web key, my phones, my tablets, apple id, and enabled two-step verification. I do not know where to go or what to do....... I have been dealing with this for over a year know. Yesterday, I noticed that there were phone numbers blocked from calling my phone. I did not do it and took a picture so I can call the numbers to see find out who's numbers were blocked. He tries to get on my Facebook and I know he can access my emails. I found another password that worked to log in to my yahoo business email. I want to make this person be held responsible for his actions. He has cost me a lot of money and interfered with the daily operations of my business. Sorry for writing a book but I am looking for any advice on where to go and what to do....... I welcome and appreciate any and all replies that can help in any way !!!

We don't know what "all you can think of" includes, so while I don't have much hope for this, it certainly isn't going to hurt. Try a reset.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Why can't I use my own credit card while part of a family share?

This more of a suggestion/rant for Apple. Why in the world would you prevent users from purchasing apps in the apps store? To make adult children go back to "mommy and daddy" to pay for things is just nuts. My app purchases have halted because I don't want the hassle of having to go back to my parents and find out which purchases were mine or their's or who owes who. Huge huge fail guys... please fix ASAP. I'll even go for not being able to download their purchases (I just want the shared calendar feature and family Find my Phone).
Do some research with your users next time about this... great idea for people with teenagers, not great for a multi-generational family who love apple products.

ITunes recently decided my debit card's security code in invalid. But nothing is wrong with the code or my card. how do I fix this? Apple support doesn't have a clue what they are doing and will not call me to fix this.

My bank sent me a new Debit card because of some security issue. It has the same number as my previous card but new experation and new security code. It worked fine for months then all of a sudden Itunes decided the security code is invalid. Now I can't even update my phone.
For the last week I have been going back and forth over email with apple support to fix it, but they keep telling me the same fix that doesn't work and frankly they are the worst support group I have ever worked with. I can't even get anyone to answer a phone, its just back and forth by email everyday.

How do i get itunes to accept my debit card. When i fist made my account everything was fine but after a few purchases it was declined, i have money in my account so i do not know why it would have been declined. My bankacount says it should go through?

I set up everything with no problems the first time. I have money in my account and i made a few purchases though the app store, then all the sudden it says my card is declined... but i havemoney in my account, it makes me try to change my billing informaton. I contacted my bank and they said there is no reason that my card should be getting declined. I cannot download anything, or update the downloads that i already have... this is so fusturating, any ideas to fix this.

This was changed. Apple no longer accepts debit cards as an acceptable form of payment. This Apple support page lists all accepted forms of payment.
