Why does "connect to itunes to us push notifications pops up on iphone

how do i fix this?

I had the same exact problem with my iPhone 4. I fixed it by putting my phone in restore mode and then kicking it back out of it. I mention 2 ways. The 1st one is something I think should work because it is based around the same concept. The 2nd method is what I used and is a bit more risky but thats the one I used.
1st method (can't confirm that this works but it just might)
The hard reboot. this is done by holding the HOME and POWER button at the same time until the screen goes blank. Then turn it on again using just the POWER button. This will take a while to turn on so don't panic just have some patience.
2nd method (the one I used)
This is how to do it.
BACK UP before attempting this. The restore mode I used is a kind of a bootable mode which is reversable (not sure if it works on other phone, so IPHONE 4 PEOPLE ONLY).
Turn the phone off the normal way. After it is turned off, hold the HOME button and connect the USB. Continue holding the HOME button until connect to itunes logo on the phone shows up and itunes will pop up saying "a device in restore mode..".
Dissconnect the USB. Now hold the POWER button until the phone turns off (it will after 10 seconds or so). Now turn it on again using the POWER button. It might take a while to turn on(don't panic, have patience). With any luck all the notifications should work and you should be able to sign in into imessage and facetime.

  • HT3576 How can I get rid of "Connect to itunes to use push notifications" pop-ups.  I just had to replace my iPhone 5 and when I did a restore from backup, most of my apps will not let me in becuase I cannot get past the"connect to itunes..." message.

My iPhone 5 was distroyed so I replaced it with a new iPhone 5 yesterday.  I did a restore from a backup that i had performed a week ago.  When I tried to use the phone several of my apps would not let me in becuase they continually gave me a popup message "Connect to Itunes to use push notifications".  I click ok and the popup comes back.  I have shut my phone off several times.  I have complete closed the apps several times.  I have even deleted the apps from my phone and reinstalled.  All to no avail.  Please help - does anyone know how to fix this?

Yes - I connected my phone to my computer / Itunes and went into the apps section, but from there I have no idea how to manage the push notifications.  I even tryied going into itunes that is installed on my phone.  I still cannot find anyplace to manage these popups.  I have also gone into settings - notifiations - and tried turning all notifications for these apps all off but that didnt work either.  Any guidance is MUCH appreciated - Im not sure where to go from here.

  • Whenever i go to an app it says "connect to iTunes to use push notifications" i have the iPhone 4 with ios 5

Also whenever I use facetime or imessage it says to turn it on. When i go to settings it says "waiting for activation" how can I fix this???? And youtube does not work even though i have internet connection and safari works properly.

So I did a backup in ITunes, and then a complete restore and now it seems fixed. Not having any more of those messages? The only difference I noticed is that this time around it asked for a password for the iMessage and Facetime, which it didn't before ( on the ios5 update). I just entered my apple live id information. Also my facetime is now happy (ie. not showing waiting for activation). Don't know if this is linked somehow, but mine seems good now.

Did you get any help on this? From what I can see from surfing this site, it's a BUG that no one has offered a solution to. It sometimes happens after a 'reset' and going to ITunes does not offer a way to 'set up push notifications'.

  • Why do I keep getting " connect to iTunes to get push notifications

Meant I keep getting a central alert box stating Connect to iTunes to use push notifications. One app now doesn't work as this startup alert just loops.

    Hi ManxScoobie,
You may need to adjust the settings for your Notifications.
See the article below about how Push Notifications affects cellular data
    iOS: About cellular data usage
The iPad User Guide below explains how to change Notification settings on the iPad for all or individual apps (see page 113).
    manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/ipad_user_guide.pdf
    Do Not Disturb & Notifications
Push notifications appear in Notification Center and alert you to new information, even when the associated app isn’t running. Notifications vary by app, but may include text or sound alerts, and a numbered badge on the app icon on the Home screen.
Turn an app’s notifications on or off: Go to Settings > Notifications. Tap an item in the list, then turn notifications on or off for that item. Apps that have notifications turned off appear in the Not In Notification Center list.
Change how notifications appear: Go to Settings > Notifications. You can:
Change the number of notifications: Choose an item in the In Notification Center list. To set how many notifications of this type appear in Notification Center, tap Show.
Change the alert styles: Choose an item in the In Notification Center list. Choose an alert style, or select None to turn off alerts and banners. Notifications will still appear in Notification Center.
Change the order of notifications: Tap Edit. Drag the notifications into the order you want. To turn off a notification, drag it to the Not In Notification Center list.
Display numbered badges on apps with notifications: Choose an item in the In Notification Center list and turn on Badge App Icon.
Hide alerts from an app when iPad is locked: Choose the app in the In Notification Center list, then turn off “View in Lock Screen.”
Some apps have additional options. For example, Messages lets you specify whether to include message previews in the notification, or whether to display iMessage notifications only from senders who are in Contacts.
I hope this information helps ....

     Hi,
One of my ex-colleagues has installed a NI-DAQ 6.5 in our system. [And I do not see any other naitional instruments card in the CPU of the computer, may be he removed it] I deleted the account and all his files in the system. When I am trying to install version8.0, its not getting installed and giving me a message that I should uninstall the previous version by going to Add/Remove programs in the control panel.
I tried doing that, but the "Change/Remove" button does not seem to work...[There is no response and so unable to install the new version...]
Any idea how can this problem be solved?
It is a windowsXP operating system with SP2 installed on a machine with P4 processor.
    Thanks

  • Apps in iTunes disappear; 'Connect to iTunes to Use Push Notifications'

Right, I synced my iphone up a while back to add a song to my phone.
Since then, I've had several problems I have yet to resolve:
    1) I keep getting 'Connect to iTunes to Use Push Notifications.'
I searched through the forums and have yet to find a solution, nothing seems to work. Tried changing sims, rebooting/resyncing, messing with the notifications, etc., etc., etc. Nothing has worked.
    2) I keep getting a notification when I try to do anything from my Macbook to my iphone that says my phone is not synced to my library, would I like to sync to my library now' or something to that effect. It doesn't matter how many times I add it, it will not recognise it.
    3) All the apps I had downloaded that are associated with my iPhone, my iTouch, and my iPad have deleted themselves. I plug in the iPhone, all it recognises is the apps it came with, nothing else.
The iPad and iTouch are not giving the pop up for the Push Notifications because I have not synced them in a while.
Phone is a 3gs, running 5.1.1. I would prefer not to upgrade to the 6.0 if possible, I have heard terrible things about the upgrade from friends and would really prefer not to upgrade until all the bugs are fixed. Also, I'm reading other posts online that say they're still having the problem after upgrading to 6.0, and I don't want extra frustrations with the upgrade as well as all this. iPhone is NOT jailbroken, has never been jailbroken.
    Macbook Pro is running 10.6.8.
iTunes is running the newest version 10.7
Some of you must have had this problem, any help would be appreciated, that pop-up for Push Notifications is really driving me insane.
    Help!
    thanks

I have this problem afert installing iOS7. All my apps keep telling me to "connect to iTunes to get push notifications". Why is this happening and what is the remedy.
    Thanks!

    From another thread: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23109420#23109420
Deactivate itunes account: Go to settings > itunes store & appstore > sign out from the account 'Apple ID: xxxxxxxxxxxx' >
    Restart the iphone/ipad
Reactivate itunes account: Go to settings > itunes store & appstore > login
    This worked for me.
