What is the safari keyboard shortcut for "show/hide address bar"?

I have been unable to identify the second of the two keys for the "show/hide address bar" shortcut in Safari.
It shows the command key and then a verticle line which I can not find on my keyboard. I tried i, l, and
1, but its none of those.
That would be a handy shortcut for me, but it seems to use a key I don't have!

It's ShiftCommand\ in U.S. and Canadian English. If you look at the backslash key in those layouts, there's a vertical bar above it.

Is the problem on the Bookmarks menu, on the Bookmarks drop-down list (from one of your toolbars), in the Bookmarks sidebar, or in the Library dialog used to organize bookmarks?
Do Home and End (without the Ctrl key) work any better/differently?

Redefining default keyboard shortcuts for dashboard, exposé, etc.

I would like to redefine the keyboard shortcuts for the Dashboard, Dock, and Exposé functions, i.e. I don't want these functions to be bound to the f8-f11 keys. I can redefine the shortcuts manually using the Keyboard pane of the System Preferences, but there are two problems. The first is that the shortcuts for these four items are reset whenever the computer is restarted (my changes to the other keyboard shortcuts are maintained). Is there a way to permenantly change these shortcuts? The second problem is that I am not able to change the keyboard shortcuts for the "slow" versions of these shortcuts accessed by using the shift key.
Basically, I want to be able to use f8-f11 and shift + f8-f11 as keyboard shortcuts in other applications. I'd like to assign the Dashboard, Dock, and Exposé commands to be command + f8-f11 and shift + command + f8-f11.

Does it hold if you change in the Dashboard&Exposé preference pane? You should be able to at least set the Cmd+F#, not sure if it will work for the slow open.

The Powerbook is more limited in that it doesn't have the F13,F14,F15 keys, but editing the com.apple.symbolichotkeys.plist will give you direct control of the hotkey assignments.

Overall I've disabled "Auto Show Tool Options" option and use F4 ... thanks Adobe that you haven't left this without any solution !!

When you click on an album (or TV-show) in grid view there are two small arrows in the upper right corner, for flicking through to next or previous album.
Question: is there a keyboard shortcut for these arrows? Would be relly nice...

However... it turns out that you have to press shift as well, so:
For left: ⇧⌘ [ (meaning SHIFT - COMMAND - LEFT SQUARE BRACKET)
For right: ⇧⌘ ] (meaning SHIFT - COMMAND - RIGHT SQUARE BRACKET)

Why is the keyboard shortcut for 'Select next input source' disabled when using Safari?

I'm using Safari 6.0.5 and am running 10.8.4 on a MacBook Pro 13" from last year.
I've been using Chrome and Firefox heavily recently, but switched to Safari to give it a chance. It's really nice and lightweight, which suits me.
However, for some reason unbeknownst to me, the keyboard shortcut 'Select next input source' is disabled in Safari, in all windows/input methods.
Since I constantly switch input methods, this is incredibly frustrating.
It persists after quit + restart.
Any ideas?

Yes, just Safari. In Chrome, Firefox and all other applications it works as expected.

I create shortcut for user to get a cr but not working

1. added report to Customer service folder
2. created shortcut in closure group, which is attached to Customer service.
the new report is not appearing when I login as that user. why? I can see the report shortcut when viewing in CMC but not when actual logging in.

1. Created a Report in Folder X
2. Created a shortcut for the above report and placed in Folder Y
User in Group A can view the report in Folder X but can't see the the shortcut in Folder Y, is that right?
Or
User in Group A can view the shortcut in Folder Y from CMC but not from BI Launchpad?

Why are the keyboard shortcuts for new window and new tab (N) and (W) instead of (W) and (T) when I right-click on bookmarks in my toolbar?

If I right click on a link in a page, the context menu allows me to open a new tab if I hit t on my keyboard and a new window if I hit w. In the bookmarks menu, these shortcuts change to w and n respectively. Hitting t results in deletion of the bookmark. Can this be changed so it is consistent with the in-page context menu?

You can middle-click a link to open the link in a new tab.

Why does my keyboard shortcuts not work?

In pages when I want to use superscript, I press ^⌘+ (control command +) but it doesn't work, however, when use subscript ^⌘-, it works. And I know its not that my plus button is broken, it still works just fine. So, is there something I need change or what?

AK,
It will work on the numeric keypad of full size keyboards where plus is a dedicated key. With the plus/equals key on the main keyboard section or the keyboard of a MacBook, you need the shift key to differentiate the plus from the equals.

Command-5 shortcut for 5-star rating photos in iPhoto not working

When I go to 5-star rate a photo in iPhoto using the default Command-5 shortcut, the shortcut no longer works.
The Command-1, Command-2, Command-3, Command-4 shortcuts work for (1-star through to 4-star ratings), but for some reason Command-5 no longer works???
There is nothing wrong with my "5" on my keyboard.
I went to my local Apple Store and spoke to a Genius. He said that there is probably a mistake in the iPhoto code, and that the mistake would only be corrected after someone mentioned to apple the problem.
I would like to find out if there is any way firstly to rectify the problem myself? or alternatively how to get in touch with Apple to let them know there is a problem, so that they can fix it by the next software update.

Ty trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)

Does anyone have time for this one? photoshop 2014 gradient not working.

Working on a project with photoshop 2014 updated thursday night using foreground to transparent gradient. The edges of the picture are staying white instead of being transparent over the background or other pictures. I thought I was using the gradient correctly converting the pic to a png file, setting the mask, then applying the gradient to the edges. Is there something I am missing??? Please help.

below is a snip of the effect i am looking for. i remember it working in the trial version late 2013 photoshop. it was so simple i thought it would be hard to forget how, but i must be missing something. i looked, clicked and checked all around the work space to find a way to change from "background layer" and did not find it. the trial version (lets call it "trial period" because its all the same except paid for now along with updated to ps 2014) did also have the layer change in an easy to find way. i believe it was double click or right click over the currently active layer in the list as in the lower snip pic.
the pic above did work during my trial period so i know it works somehow. i dont know what i am missing now. right click or double click now does not bring up the layer type selection in the menu like you suggested to change from backgroung layer. also every new picture file i open makes its own new layer. when i make a new layer i havent figured out how to put a pic in it. if you could show me how to create this effect or find my missing step that would be awsome.

Im trying to sync my iphone to itunes so i can put music in my phone. However, it only goes to step 2 in sync.I want to know why is this happening and what i can do to fix it because i want music on my phone. Then i also tried sending it through bluetooth form my other phone. Nokia N97. So i want to know what to do.PS my phone has no external memory. Hope someone can help me.

You can't send it by BT. I assume step to is the Backup step when you sync. If that's where the sync is stopping, assuming you have Windows, try this:
Assuming you have Windows:
Quit iTunes.
Start an elevated command prompt (Start Menu>All Programs>Accessories>right-click "Command Prompt">choose "Run as Administrator")
Once in the command prompt, type "netsh winsock reset" (with our the quotes) and press ENTER.
Reboot your computer.
Restart iTunes.
Connect your phone and try syncing again.
If this doesn't fix it you probably have a corrupt iPhone backup from a previous sync that must be deleted. To do this open iTunes, go to Preferences, on the Devices tab you will see a list of your backups. Click each backup and click Delete Backup. Then connect your phone and try syncing again.
